  1. Lady C: Im certainly not UPSET about this... I believe it is the personal responsibility of each citizen to keep themselves informed during elections. If you want someone else telling you who to vote for, you might as well live in a communist country. If you are too lazy to go do some research on your own, and utilize your OWN mind, then you should not vote. Churches need to realize that many of their congregation will follow them no matter what, so they should be really careful about what they are saying. And I STILL dont see the big deal on same-sex marriage. Chazy.
  2. I always have been, and still am, proud to be Canadian. Chazy.
  3. Hey... Im Agnostic. The best description of "Agnostic" that ive come across so far is from www.religioustolerance.com "Agnosticism is a concept, not a religion. It is a belief related to the existence or non-existence of God. An Agnostic is a person who feels that God's existence can neither be proved nor disproved, on the basis of current evidence. Agnostics note that some theologians and philosophers have tried to to prove, for millennia, that God exists. Others have attempted to prove that God does not exist. Neither side has convincingly succeeded at their task. An Agnostic usually holds the question of the existence of God open, pending the arrival of more evidence. They are willing to change their belief if some solid evidence or logical proof is found in the future. However, some have taken the position that there is no logical way in which the existence or the non-existence of a deity can be proven." Charles Darwin, Francois M. Voltaire, Thomas H. Huxley, Robert G. Ingersoll and Bertrand Russell are a few famous Agnostics. "Agnostic" can also be broken up into little branches like Agnostic Theists, Agnostic Atheists, Empirical Agnostics and Agnostic Humanists (this is the group that JCM is probably talking about, because a lot of us DO find the question of Gods existance relevent). Hope that helps... "Athiest" is a pretty straightforward term, but "Agnostic" seems to get muddled up a lot haha. Keep an open mind. Chazy.
  4. Ewww no. I am NOT a fan of guns :wac: Guess im a pacifist or whatever. Chazy.
  5. Wix: I can only assume you arent a Black, Gothic, Jew lol Its not a form of rebelling! There ARE the Mansonites, who are generally the 13 year olds who listen to Marilyn Manson and Slipknot, spike their hair and go around saying they practise Satanism just to annoy their parents... That gets old, and annoying. Then people think we're ALL like that. Im a "Romantic Goth" (yay for labels). I like to keep up my appearance, and am ALWAYS overdressed Corsets, skirts, mary janes... I look *different*, but not like im about to blow up my school or something haha. I just dont understand some people... Chazy.
  6. Being a Goth, ive heard it all before. The best part is when people tell me that im "asking for it". I realize my look will attract a few more awkward glances than the "typical" person but that doesnt mean I want people to be rude to me. You wouldnt believe some of the hurtful comments Ive gotten. Mind you, I think anyone can keep themselves looking nice and neat. Also, back in the day I was into ballet and gymnastics (dont even ask lol)... Self-image was everything. If you were over 100lbs, you were overweight. I was about 94lbs and one of the chubbier girls on the team. Theres nothing quite like making underweight girls feel bad about their bodies. The full-figured woman will come back in style :t: Chazy.
  7. People have too much time on their hands... Though I have to agree with the hackers on the Bush thing. I HATE Bush, with a passion. But yeah - no reason to be disrespectful of someones boards. Chazy.
  8. YAY! Thanks Kit-Kat! Im from Toronto, Canada :-D And I LOVE it! Chazy.
  9. Can sumbunny help me? I wanted to be all gloaty and post a pic of where im from... but... Im a computer idiot Could someone post a pic for me? :flowers: Thanks, Chazy.
  10. Wonderful poem :-) Kind of depressing but... uplifting at the same time. Thanks for sharing. Chazy.
  11. I have noticed a little bit. I respect the mods, but it IS a bit annoying having to be afraid to mention something that might be considered "objectionable". The world isnt perfect :-/ Chazy.
  12. Thanks :-) Chazy isnt my real name, but it might as well be ;-) Chazy is short for Chester, and there are a bunch of Chesters in my life. There are a few reasons that it became my other-name. It just fit. Spongebob kicks some serious butt. Im assuming you figured that out through the "Fess Up" Spongebob thread? Or the "Coming To Toronto" thread? All you have to do is find a teenager who wears arm-warmers 24/7 and chances are, they cut. Especially amongst Goths, Punks, Artists and people who probably have too many high expecations placed on them. Of course, this is a bit of a stereotype, or a generalization. You would be surprised at some of the people who cut. Angelina Jolie does it, Princess Di had self-injury issues of some form. Anyways must run. Thanks again. Chazy.
  13. Serart is good too. Not as mellow though, and one would need to have a more open mind to listen to them. But they definately fit into the "eclectic" genre. Chazy.
  14. Thanks One Way :-) Do Lisa and Brendan do all the singing on their stuff? Because she certainly does not look like the voice that I hear ;-) And neither does Brendan for that matter. Quite the sound for a 2-piece group. Were they actually a couple too or just music partners? "Detour around '88". Wow, an 80s child. I am humbled by your presence :-D Are "This Mortal Coil" Christian? Goth? I'll check em out. Chazy.
  15. Ah, I didnt notice that you said you didnt want to stop. You need to want to stop, and you eventually will. In the meantime, a councellor might help. If you go to a local health clinic or teen clinic, they should have therapists that you can see confidentially, and for free. You also need to get to the root of the problem, when you do it and why. If you can figure out the main reason that you do it, you can attempt to remove yourself from that trigger. It should make you happier in general. Chazy.
  16. These methods didnt work for me, but many psychologists use them when dealing with cutters, and anything is worth a try. Theres the thick elastic band around the wrist: when you feel the need to cut, you snap the band just hard enough for it to tingle. Its supposed to make you feel something, and snap you back to reality. And theres the ice cube: when you feel the need to cut, put an ice cube or two in a ziplock baggy. Hold it against your skin for 1-2 minutes and the sensation should feel similar to that of cutting (this method worked better for me). Those methods are generally for the addiction to pain (some people need the adrenaline, the endorphin release). For people who need to see blood, couple one of the above methods with drawing lines on your skin with a bright red marker. Its like a nicotine addiction, start small and slow, until you're free. Writing in a journal is always good too, to help you express your feelings. As always, I recommend that while you are trying to stop, if at any time the need is so great that you feel suicidal, then cut. Sometimes its neccessary, but ONLY as a last resort. If you need anything else or if you want to talk, feel free to PM or email me. Im a cutter too. Chazy.
  17. But, what if that pain is too much and pushes someone to their breaking point? I know the world cant be perfect, I would actually hate that. But some people dont even know what happiness feels like. Chazy.
  18. Under the influence? No way! I must be naturally stoned or something because I dont ruin the essence of Burton with anything like that and I appreciate every minute of his films :-D Chazy.
  19. That would be unbelievably cruel if He did. If He thinks He is getting ANYWHERE by causing my pain, He is terribly mistaken. Anyways, isnt God able to forsee the future? To know all? Why wouldnt it be fixed beforehand? This is why I dont believe. Maybe He should try to take away some hurt to catch peoples attention. I would think He'd have better ways, considering you believe he has infinite power. I would think such pain would come from Satan, not God. No, im not bitter at all. Chazy.
  20. Im a student. I have no idea what I want to do with my life when im done. My ideal situation would be if I could be a housewife and do some writing or editing on the side. Maybe own a little shop, or be a bartender at a fancy cocktail place. Something, anything... as long as I enjoy it and can live off the pay. Chazy.
  21. Ahhhh I LOVE Tim Burton :-) Big Fish was definately a change... but I really enjoyed it. Burton tends to add a lot of biographical pieces in his films... But im not sure what the deal was with Big Fish. Maybe he just wanted a change. If you think about it... Big Fish IS Tim Burton style as it was a "weird" movie. Its just more colourful :-) He is directing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka (you have NO idea how excited I am about this) which was scheduled to be released in 2005 but got delayed due to a camera-man dropping a $500,000 camera into a vat of chocolate. Yes, you read that correctly. Chazy.
  22. Hahaha! Yay - "Ladies" are coming back in style! Now... if only we could get the "gentlemen" to kiss our hands ;-) Chazy. Cute smiley btw :-)
  23. You're a fun lot too :-D I probably annoy you guys to death sometimes but... Someones got to keep ya grounded :-p I thought you were a guy for a while :-/ Haha. Chazy.
  24. Yay God-Man! And no problem ServingHim. I try to understand :-D Chazy.
