Well, our "alleged" christian president, and his "alleged" christian staff, all supposedly conservatives, stand up there and say its all good. What kind of message does that send the nation? Then ultra liberal democrats try to make Bush look like an extremist and "obsessed with God" for the few good things he does do. If they think Bush is obsessed with God, or "ultra conservative" they havn't seen me. I not only want christian prayer back in school and government, I want everything else banned, the way the Bible says. I don't just want "same sex marriages" banned, I want same sex relationships banned period. GET RID OF THE SODOMITES. I say this IN SPITE of the fact that I have a supposedly christian relative who has recently decided that its all right to become a lesbian. GET RID OF THE MUSLIMS, HINDUS, BUDDHISTS, TAOSTS, WITCHES PORNOGRAPHERS AND DEVIL WORHIPPERS. If you call yourself a christian, that is what the BIBLE SAYS. But when you watch the news, across the world "Christians" are the biggest customers for pornography and witchcraft. Muslims are more faithful to Allah than we are to Jesus Christ. If we did what the Bible said to do, and take a stand and put away this stuff, at least make our voices heard, we might see a change in this generation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Todays christians will never take a stand. The church is so divided on their beliefs that most people haven't got a clue. The things you see happening today are mild compared to what's coming. And what's so sad is that people don't see it.

If you're "rooted in the word" why disobey it? That's the same lie satan told David concerning Bathsheba. "Hey, buddy. Look at that woman. You know, you can sleep with her and nobody's ever gonna know the difference. Even if they do, what are they gonna say? You're the king. Come on, you can handle this. Just this once. You can repent later, even offer a few goats and such. She's got the cutest little...." And before David knew what was going on, he murdered one of his own close friends. Thats how it works. Sin doesn't stop at a taste. It destroys everyone and everything it touches. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You hold that thought. I have to go to work. But before I go, answer me this. Do you watch TV? What was the last movie you watched? Concerning TV, which programs do you watch?

The muslims are setting up shop here in the United States and it is only a matter of time before we start seeing bombings here like the ones we see over there. I keep hearing about how peacefull they are. Peace loving people do not blow themselves up. They do not hack off heads. There are sleeper cells all across this country. They are just sitting and waiting. When their numbers are strong they will strike. Their god commands it. I don't trust them and I don't think anyone else should either. These people hate us. We represent everything that is evil in the world. If they are true muslims, it is the their belief that all non-muslims must die. The fox is in the hen house and no one seems to care.
-
I really don't see any harm in reading those books. If you're rooted in the Word, then what can it hurt?
-
I don't know if I can explain it but I'll try. .......I've been sitting here thinking about this and have no idea what to say. I guess I see Him as a friend. I see Him as the Son of God. Someone who commands respect. Someone who in the end is going to judge me according to my ways. I love and worship the Father because He is the Almighty. And if I worship the Father I worship the Son, as I do the Spirit. I look at this as a great and wonderful adventure. I mean I have contact with a living God. This is better then science fiction because it's real. The Maker of the heavens and all that is, is willing to let me into His kingdom. I mean...how awesome is that. I believe in spiritual battles because I've exprienced them. If not for Christ, I would not have overcome them. He is my strength. Without Him I am nothing. A vapor. I don't know how I worship Him. I know He's with me constantly. He's always there when I need Him. It's hard to explain. There are feelings I don't have words for. I don't know...
-
I love Him enough to trust Him with my soul.
-
For you to say "I might be in heaven with someone I feel doesn't belongs there" tells me you have a lot of learning to do. Defending your faith is one thing, being totally ignorant is another. You have a good one.
-
We can sit here and throw scripture back and forth all day long and in the end you will still say "but". You reject all of the answers given. I don't know what you want. Perhaps you should take this up with the Father. If you wish to believe all will be saved, no matter what, it is your choice. Perhaps deep down inside you are questioning your own salvation. I don't know. I don't question your salvation so don't be angry with me. I don't question anyones salvation. All I can do is answer your questions to the best of my God given ability. Maybe you should come out and tell me what's really on your mind. Who knows...maybe I could be of some assistance. Later.

Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sometimes what is NOT written is the intriguing thing. It does NOT say that Jesus saw the faith of the paralytic. It says Jesus saw the faith of his friends. Why? I believe every word in Scripture is important. What truth is the Holy Spirit trying to teach us here? Peace, Fiosh <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

God doesn't work like that. It is up to us to take that first step. He may put things in our path that leads us to Him but He doesn't react until we acknowledge Him. How many people do you think prayed for Hitler? Osama Bin Laden? Charles Manson? Castro?...the list is endless. I'm not saying any of these people are going to hell, I have no say in that matter, but to odds are looking pretty good. Do you see any softening of the heart in these people? It is up to us to make the decision to look for God. Once He sees that we acknowledge His existance and are in fact seeking Him, He will move mountains if need be, in order to close the gap between us and Him. The whole thing boils down to faith. If we truly believe in Him, He will make Himself known to us. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So is intercessory prayer useless? Would God have us pray in vain? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Millions of people pray in vain everyday. Look at what happened right after 9/11. So many people turned to God that the churches couldn't house them all. But as time passed and the people realized that no more attacks were coming, they went back to their former selves. How many prayers went unanswered there? Is intercessory prayer useless? No. I've prayed for many people. Some of those prayers were answered almost instantly ( over night ) while others took a little longer and there some that I'm still waiting on. I've never asked God to soften the heart of anyone. I've asked Him to convict the heart of a certain someone and He did. Did that person seek God afterward? No. I've asked God to place a Spirit of protection around someone that was close to me and He did. This person was in danger of physical harm and God protected this individual. I've seen what God can do for me. He has let Himself be known to me. I can't explain what it's like but I know He's there. He's with me everyday. Even when I'm sleeping He protects me from the attacks of the devil. Praying for others is not about their salvation. It's about our obedience to God. If we truly love our fellow man, we will pray for them. God will intercede on our behalf, not so much to save the soul of those we pray for, but to let us know He is there. I pray for people that are in bad situations. I ask Him to meet their needs, to give them just what they need to get over that bump in the road. Most of the people I pray for, to the best of my knowledge, don't know God but He helps them anyway. If I am true to Him, He is true to me. Salvation is an individual choice. I could pray 24/7 for the salvation of someone, but it's up to that individual to make the choice. God won't make it for them. I don't know if this helped you any. If not...don't give up. I'm not going anywhere. Later.

My gut feeling is that you are right; Jesus is God and can see into the heart. But the wording of the verse puzzles me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
-
What I get from that verse is that Christ not only saw the faith of people lowering him down but his faith also. So He healed him. Christ had little respect if any for the church leaders of that time. He knew they were corrupt and would usually do something that they would question. It was His style of teaching. He was telling them who He was. On another occasion He healed someone on the sabbath in front of church leaders. The reason it doesn't say anything about Him forgiving the sins of others is that they must make a decision to believe or not to. With Christ it's all about faith. If you have faith you will follow His Word. If you follow His Word, everything will fall into place. He will answer the tough questions. He will give you wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of who He is. If you have faith, He will show you beyond a shadow of a doubt that He exists. He forgave the paralytics sins to show who He was. This is what I understand and believe.

Read Mark 2:5 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know what you mean. You said he did nothing. Is there something he was supposed to do? I don't know...I'm lost.

Christ saw how great his faith was and since no one is without sin, He forgave him of his sins. He wipe his slate clean then healed him.

I wouldn't be so quick to draw that conclusion. As they say, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence". But then again, this could also be analogous to intercessory prayer. In any event, I say the evidence is too slim to conclude either way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not drawing any conclusion, I was simply stating the fact. I can see that I didn't express myself very well. What I should have said was, the passage does not explicitly tell us that the sick man did or said anything. It makes me wonder what the implication is??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't he pick up his bed and leave?

We live on a planet that is ruled by satan. God's will is that no one should perish. But because satan has dominion here, there are some who will never know the truth. God doesn't want anyone to die in their sins. He wishs no one to perish. But....we have the free will to believe or not to believe. That's the difference between salvation and damnation. Because of Eve's transgressions, we have the right to accept or deny God. God wants us all to come to the knowledge of Him, but because of satan that will never happen. Yes we are to pray for others but that does not mean they are saved. God said pray for your enemies, for by doing so you heap hot coals upon their heads. God is looking for those who will follow Him in faith. That's why He instructs us to pray for the lost. He wants to know if we genuinely care for others. Even our enemies. Not everyone comes to the knowledge of God. If that were not true, there would be no need for Christ. If this doesn't answer your question. Explain it...without scripture. Just say what's in your heart. I mean when you talk with others in your life do you talk to them in scripture? Make your question as simple as you can. When quoting scripture you must remember that there's other scripture surrounding that verse. The meaning you get from one verse may be different from someone elses. So keep it simple. Don't give up...if we didn't answer your question, try asking it in different way. I gotta go now. Bills to pay. Y'all have a good one.

When you witness to someone, do you tell them everything there is to know about God? Do you explain false doctrines, false teachings. the rapture, tithing, taxes, witnessing, and on and on. You would have to spend years with each person you witness to in order to say lack of knowledge isn't to blame. Simply telling someone that Christ died for them means nothing to that person unless they fully understand the concept of God. Do you get what I'm saying? The first time someone witnessed to you, did you walk away knowing everything? When you pray for the person you witnessed too, are you 100% positive that God will fill that individual with His Spirit? Does God answer each and every one of our prayers? Think of it like this....Could you explain the principles of math to a five year old? Everything from simple 1+1 to complex problems and expect them to grasp the idea without any studying on their part? If a muslem, hindu, or buddist witnessed to you, would you accept their beliefs without questioning the existence of their god? Not everyone is destined to spend eternity with God. We can't pray righteousness into anyone. If we could, there would be no sin and no need for Christ. Each of us has our own calling. God has a job for us, we just need to figure out what it is. Some of us sow. Some of us water. But it is God who has the final word. It is God who decides who gets into His kingdom and who doesn't, not us. Perhaps today you will sow to one person and tomorrow water another. Do you get what I'm saying? Anyway...I hope this helped. Later.

If you went around witnessing to everyone you met, people would think you were crazy. That's not what God wants. ( these are my belief's ) God wants us to be a living witness. That's not to say you shouldn't witness, but it's not up to us who gets saved and who doesn't. Christ said "Love your neighbor as yourself". Treat people the way you want to be treated. We are to be sowers of the Word. All we need to do is plant the seed of Light. Someone else will water it. God will make it grow. ( if it is His will ) We have no say in the matter of who is saved and who isn't. We can't pray righteousness into someone. God calls us. It's up to us whether we accept or deny. No one ever witnessed to me. No one ever told me about Christ. Church was for people in nice suits who drove nice cars. I don't know why He chose me, but I truly believe He did. I'm starting to babble here...sorry. Read Matt. 5-6-7. Study those 3 chapters. Take your time...go slow. Ask God to open your eyes to His Word. ( I believe the Lord's prayer is a key element in getting your prayers answered ) Just about everything you need to know is in those 3 chapters. Anyway...it's not up to us to save people. If it were, Christ will have died for nothing. Know what I mean? Later...Have a good one.

In 1 Corinthians 1:10 Paul stated that there was to be no divisions among us. Why do we ignore that?

I was just curious. Thanks.

Is The Living Bible God's word or man's interpretaion of it? I personally believe it is the work of man, not God. Your thoughts.
-
Are the two witness' in Rev. mentioned in any other books of the New Testament?

Thanks.

OK, I promise not to bite. Why don't you go to church? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Steve, it's probably OK to bite so long as the one biting has had all appropriate vaccinations. I've had all mine, but NITE OWL is in luck being that I'm not much in the mood to bite. I'm in the "sit and stay" mode myself. In answer to the originial question though, I attend Perimeter Point Church in Helena, AL. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hate being lucky. I can handle your question's if you can handle my answer's. I too have been vaccinated.
