  1. I did some time at Ft. Polk LA. There's more snakes in those then you could shake a stick at. The spiders down there are as big as my fist. I still have scars from those nasty little fire ants. Yeah, you don't have like it but you still have to deal with it.
  2. When the new 100 dollar bill came out, they were counterfieting them overseas before the actual ones even got there. There is no technology that can't be bypassed. 25 years ago the thought of duplicating fingers prints was a joke. Today it's reality. If someone had a chip in their hand, forehead, or anywhere on the body, what's to stop someone from forcing these individuals to empty their bank accounts? Or having their info. downloaded to another chip? Gps systems are one thing, personal information chips are another. I'm not arguing with you. I'm just stating the obvious. My opinion only, so please don't take offense.
  3. I beg to differ with you. Fear is one of the seven Spirits of the Lord. It is the devil who in his ignorance is not afraid of anything as if he has all the answers. 2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. 3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Denise <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where is that quoted from, prey tell? Also, sometimes 'fearing' the Lord means having a deep respect not literately being scared of Him! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isaiah 11 2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Ps 22 23 You who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! Ps 33 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him Ps 34 9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. Poverbs 3 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 1Pe 2 17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Re 14 7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." Denise <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fear of the Lord means not taking Him for granted. Fear of the Lord is a show of faith and respect. Fear of the Lord is following His commandments. Fear of the Lord and being afraid are two different things. I can be fearful of walking down an empty street at 3 am and still have fear of the Lord. Fear is a natural instinct. Fight or flight.
  4. A chip that had all our information and then planted inside us, is not a secure way in which to store that information. Everyone would have access to it.
  5. True, long or short hair is not a sin...why then did Paul feel a need to address this issue? The length of our hair plays no part in our salvation. That being said, why would Paul even bring it up? A deeper meaning perhaps? I believe there is and it has nothing to do with women having their heads covered.
  6. Telephonophobia. Sounds stupid but that's what they call it.
  7. Actually, no it's not. Cat 5 Hurricanes are actually pretty rare. There is a reason they call such storms "100 yr. storms". They are only supposed to occur every hundred years. Yet there have been quite a few of them in the the last decade. And with the larger population, they are even more deadly. It's unprecidented that a major American city has had to be evacuated. Probably the only disater that ranks near it is the Chicago fire in the 1800's and that was man-made. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Here's a piece of useless information. The chicago fire was started when a cow knocked over a lantern. Heard that on Paul Harvey's " the rest of the story".
  8. This country is in a state of denial.
  9. Google his name.
  10. Explain please.
  11. Just wanted to see who all was afraid of what. I'm terrified of snakes. I don't know why. They just give me the willies. Lizards too, but not as much. Anyway...just curious.
  12. Cool Feels good doesn't it.
  13. I agree with you about the church. I hear very little about how the church is drifting away. What else I find amazing is, people don't start talking about the end times or the wrath of God until something bad happens to the U.S. It's as if we're somehow shielded from all the other disasters around the world. They really don't mean anything. Strange.
  14. Black letters? You must be really serious.
  15. Hey, what's up? What kind of help are you looking for? I'm sorry....I'm really dense.
  16. I don't understand how you can believe that we give power to the devil just by talking about him. Ignoring him will not make him go away. People need to know what the devil is all about. You said it yourself, satan likes attacking new christians. He whispers lies. Going by your theory, you were giving power to the devil. But in my eyes that's not what you were doing. You were teaching. There's nothing wrong with that. When I stumble and satan grabs that power, he's coming after me. He's not going after anyone else but me. He can't attack you unless you allow him too. That's just the way it works. Yes satan is defeated, but until the Lord locks him away, we have to deal with him. He's out there just waiting for one of us to drop our guard. I truly believe people need to know how the devil works. They need to know that when they start doubting, it's satan messing with their heads. Look at all the questions that pour into these boards. All the people asking for guidance. Do we not answer their questions? Do we not give them assistance? I don't know what else to say. Those are my beliefs.
  17. Where in the bible? Scripture ref. please.
  18. CarolineS You are so close to the truth. Nothing you said is out of line. Good post
  19. You absolutely CANNOT be serious! Your attitude is THE PROBLEM with Christians today: They'd rather learn about the devil than about Jesus. Makes 'em sound like they're one up on the rest of us. The TRUTH about the devil is that he is utterly defeated, his kingdom destroyed and the universe belongs to Jesus Christ! Jesus said: "ALL POWER in Heaven and earth belongs to HIM. If ALL power belongs to Him, how much belongs to the devil? ZERO!!! Christ mediates His power to this earth through the words of Believers. Your words are filled with Christ's power. The ONLY way satan can have ANY power, is for Believers to foolishly take Christ's power and GIVE it to satan, by speaking foolish words attributing power, glory, kingdom, and honor to satan! WELL, STOP IT!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So you believe the devil doesn't exist? Then answer me this. Why is the world in such chaos? Why are there homosexuals parading down the flooded streets of New Orleans as you read this? Why is Israel still at war with it's neighbors? Why, why, why? So many questions. How am I giving satan power simply by talking about him? If we ignore him, will he simply go away? You say I give him glory and honor. Please point this out to me. I don't see it. You say the kingdom of God is inside us and that our war is a spiritual one. I agree with you. But how do we battle the forces of evil if we don't know their tactics? Was Christ just blowing off steam when He warned of things to come? Were the writers of the bible just killing time? Should we ignore their warnings? You called yourself a heretic. Do you not believe the teachings of Christ? Does the bible not teach us to beware of the devil? Maybe I am what's wrong with the church today. I see the church for what it is, not what it should be. If you believe the devil is not here on this earth, you deceive yourself. That too is one of satan's tactics.
  20. It is my belief that not many people understand spiritual warfare. They talk up a good talk about the Holy Spirit but know little about the devil and his buddies. Knowing the devil is just as important as knowing Christ. Most people don't understand this and it's the #1 reason why people abandon the faith. Actually it's the only reason. What other reason would there be? Our role in spiritual warfare is to understand the devil's tactics and to teach others. Satan's not stupid. He knows our weak points and uses them against us. Doubt is one of his best weapons. If he can get us to doubt our salvation, he's pretty much won that battle. Arrogance is another tactic he likes to use. He will actually use what we know about God and turn it against us. He'll whisper in our ear that we are wise and smarter than the next guy. He'll puff up our hearts to the point of bursting. Along with arrogance comes pride and boasting. I see it all the time. People like brag about how much they are doing for the Lord. They like to tell us how much money they gave or question our belief's because we don't put our works on display for the world to see. He likes to put christians up against other christians. Look at some of these debates. Some people will go down fighting even if they know they're wrong. They'll ask for scripture to back up a claim and when one is given, their pride won't let them admit their mistakes. Every negative emotion comes from the devil. Hate, jealousy, rage, anger.... He also visits us in our dreams. Granted we can't control what goes on in our dreams, but it's how we react to those to those dreams when we are awake. I've been having a problem with this lately. Greed. Look at how many " get rich with the Lord " ministers there are. The devil knows scripture and he'll use it to his advantage every chance he gets. Not everyone who calls themselves righteous, is. People need to understand that. Manifestations of this spiritual war on earthly things. Do you really want me to answer this? I will if you ask, but you know where I stand on this issue. I will leave it for now but if anyone asks....you get both barrels. That's my take on the devil and his peeps. Never underestimate him. Just when you think you're in the clear, he'll blind side you. That's about all I have for now. As always...in His name.
  21. What is it that makes you doubt?
