  1. I once started reading the apocryphal work, The Book of Enoch. I stopped reading it at a certain point and haven't been able to force myself to finish it. Why? It explains how the fallen angels came down and taught mankind all kinds of bad tricks, weapons, war, witchcraft, drugs, and guess what else? Yes, makeup!!

It is only forbidden in Scripture for one who wishes to be a Christian Bishop. ========================= Not so. Jesus, in his discussion of divorce, made His opinion clear with one man, one woman.

    speaking in tongues

Anne My understanding; the day of Pentecost; it was other languages and different nationality understood what they were saying, which is different from what Paul teaches on. Speaking in tongues;prayer language; is praying thru angels which edtifies us not the church, and I think that is what Paul is talking about, George. I , too get confused and have changed thoughts. One penticostal church I attended said that when we receive the baptism of the HS we automatically speak in tongues; I do not have my bible handy for the scripture they use. I disagree. I feel we have the ablility to have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit; we are to pray to possess all of the gifts. 2 cents Blessings Kay
  5. Everyone please go to citizenlink.org. It is full of information regarding both candidates. I look at their past record, Bush: Against same sex marriages, Against stem cell research in unborn babies against abortions Follows through with what he say's whether or not I agree with; or if it is popular with the voters Kerry; voted to go to war; now against for same sex marriages for stem cell research voted against the Laci law; for a person to be tried for 2 murders when a pregnant woman is murdred votes for women's right to choose abortion God will allow us put in office whom ever we vote in; Look what he did with Saul in 2Sam, My vote goes to the person who follows GOD's law or at least is close to it. 6. isn't it amazing when we break down the walls that we put up against other people...we actually are kind and nice. Thank you for starting this thread John! I think ALL of you here are wonderful, regardless that you say things that might not be uplifting at times. We are ALL human, and when we DO, it's like Jesus' speaking to us saying ... 'Forgive them Father for the know NOT what they do"! I love you all. Thank you John and Kay and Wisdom for making me feel very welcome here REGARDLESS...it shows TRUE CHARITY in your hearts! Peace, Hope and many blessings! :il: Sweetie we are all one in CHRIST; :il:  that's what I thought too, until I received an email from a certain someone here telling me that I don't know God at all NOR do I know NOR comprehend His Word whatsoever, and that I need to repent of the 'lies' that I tell in order to Know Him. I'm just thankful that not ALL people are like this one...Lord have mercy on his soul... Thank you Kay for your beautiful heart and loving kindness to ALL! Jesus will tend to it! Depression

Today's Scripture: Philippians 4:11,12 Paul's testimony written in prison: 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to be abound. Everywhere and in all thing I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Paul was locked in prison. He still had contentment in our LORD. Depression can feel like a prison. I challenge everyone to have contentment and joy in our lord during your valley days. He was afflicted with some disease in his side, and he walked so closely with JESUS. Which tells me that JESUS allows us to have trials illness and afflictions. POSITIVE comments and encouragement is welcomed LOVE KAY

    Depression

AllforJesus, Thank you for your view points! I am a case worker for developmentally disabled adults. Most have a secondarty mental illness; Bipolar for example. THEY DO NOT CHOOSE NOT TO FOLLOW GOD FOR THE MOST PART>I choose to witness and love them, hoping they want just a little of what Jesus has given me. I have been threatened, yelled at and generally seen some wild behaviors in my day. So GOD has a plan for us all. THey have taught me how to be gentle, loving, firm, kind, and accepting of all walks. JESUS IS LORD. I will look up my scripture and post later. THIS THREAD IS MEANT FOR PEOPLE TO COME IN AND FIND HOPE IN THEIR SITUATION>

  13. I have a doodle dog. What is a doodle dog you ask? He is a 10lb dauchshund and poode mixed. He has the long body and personality of the wiener dog; but has to be trimmed like the poodle. He is so very sweet and confused. He folows me all around. He will follow me to sit on the dock, feed the horses, yet hates it outside. He truly thinks I am his mama. We are currently staying with my sister and her husband (long story) and they tease him telling him that he is a dog wanna be and that he really is a cat. Well, today I caught him poopooing in the cat litter box :x: :x: Can you imagine? I wanna hear about your animals, maybe pix? I hear thru the grapevine there is going to be a pug in the Worthy family soon Looking forward to hearing from ya'll Love Kay
