  1. That is an awesome song, Gerioke! Here is one on my heart today. I have memorized it to sing with my church choir during our upcoming Easter drama. The "citizens of Jerusalem" sing it as Jesus is healing people during His ministry: MERCY SAW ME Beautiful, That's how Mercy saw me. For I was broken And so lost Mercy looked past all my faults. The justice of God saw what I had done. But Mercy saw me through the SON! Not what I was, But what I could be, That's how Mercy saw me! Whatever you've done, You can't go too far, That His eyes of Mercy Can't see where you are. He loves you too much To leave you alone. You're flesh of His flesh And bone of His bone. And His tender heart Hears your heart cry. See yourself through His eyes Then you will say. Beautiful, that's how Mercy saw me....
  2. That is a nice new Target here in BR, O'Danny. But we have to boycott it too because they don't allow the Salvation Army bellringers to be in front of their store.
  3. I had not heard that. How do you know that, SJ?
  4. Yod, Try the churches. All the churches in my town are taking items, and not just cash.
  5. Oh, DannyBoy, you are so right. I am in Baton Rouge, too. I am praying that we will not absorb the criminal element from NOLA. I have been in the projects in NOLA twice, and was afraid. I was a jurist in a murder trial in NOLA, and there are some really bad things that go on there. Mr. Biker is at Istrouma Baptist tonight, standing guard AT A CHURCH with 300 refugees. The lawlessness that is threatening is being kept quite. I am praying to keep my eyes on Jesus and not get panicky by looking around. I liked living in a quite little city. But God has other plans for us and I need to stay focused on His purpose. Please keep posting. It is good to hear from someone who is here and sees what the media is not reporting.
  6. http://news.yahoo.com/s/eo/20050902/en_music_eo/17283 He has been found. Praise God.
  7. Glad I have a motorcycle.......
  8. Christ's Free Servant: I am near New Orleans and the local news has reported response to the disaster from: The Red Cross The Salvation Army St. Vincent de Paul The (Southern Baptist) North American Mission Board http://www.namb.net/site/c.9qKILUOzEpH/b.2...ef_Homepage.htm
  9. Seems the annual Southern Decadence Day (gayer than Mardi Gras) on Labor Day weekend has been cancelled, since Bourbon Street is a literal cesspool. There are a lot of homeless homosexuals who need to know Jesus.
  10. oops, posted twice and there does not seem to be a delete post feature.
  11. Yes, Giaour, the phones are working in Baton Rouge. We have had only minor inconveniences from loss of electricity. And debris from trees being attacked by Katrina. Things should be "normal" in a day or two. So different from just a few miles south of BR. I hope you hear from your aunt soon.
  12. Giaour. I am in Baton Rouge. We are high and dry. We got electricity back this morning. But if your aunt lived in New Orleans, she has no home right now. I am watching video of places I recognize, and I am stunned. I am just praying that people will wake up and fall on their faces before God. Pray with me, brethren.
  13. I-10 through Baton Rouge has had bumper to bumper traffic since early this morning. DH and I were amazed at the traffic early this morning as we drove to church. We don't usually seem much traffic at 7am on a Sunday. Every gas station has cars lined up at the pumps all day long. The stores are crowded, the storm essentials are sold out. All the hotels are filled. Local authorities are telling us to stay off I-10 and let them get through. Baton Rouge is above sea level. Though we will experience water and wind, it will be nothing like New Orleans. They are expecting the storm surge to top the levee in New Orleans. It just started raining (6:30pm) and it is pouring. Mr. Biker has gone to try to get ice from the office machine because none is available in the stores. He works for the state and they have been told the state offices will be closed for two days. Both my sons work in the chemical plants and are on emergency call. It is scary, but I am a born-again believer, so I have no fear for myself, kwim? But my children are not saved. I could not agree more with SJ and Zayit about Sin City. I never go to New Orleans if I can avoid it. I expect the power will go out soon. Pray for us, dear brothers and sisters.
  14. Oh you guys are scaring me. I live just north of New Orleans, in Baton Rouge. My name (Katherine) means pure too.
  15. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=45988 Seems like the KKK has joined up with Sheehan.
