  1. So Leonard, what do people say of Aussies?
  2. That's great Keith, but how about Hebrew names?
  3. I agree Keith with making His names relevant to their daily lives. I have no list of His names though, but will be able to relate them to the kids love names, as I have given them so many love names. Is anyone here able to furnish me with a reliable list of Gods names? Last night, in our bedtime devotional time, we (the kids and I) were talking about how God provides for our needs, not wants. I asked my 3 and 4 yr olds what they thought their needs were. Predictably toys were mentioned, but also food, clothing, water and somewhere safe to sleep. Today I went shopping, only had $40-00 to buy a weeks worth of food and without a list, or calculating the cost progressively, I went to the checkout and the total came to $37.89. I had enough over to buy a small drink and cookies for us to eat before home!!! Amazing God Faithie
  4. I want to thank Dr. Luke for reminding me in his post, 'And God Remembered' about how merciful God is in our tough times. Last week, I was REALLY sick with a horrible bout of tonsillitus, God blessed me abundantly during my time of suffering. Want to know how? I got sick on Monday afternoon, my Mum was with me to help me along while we were out doing jobs. BECAUSE it was Monday, my Mum was able to look after my children for me overnight (she works a lot). I was able to sleep all day Tuesday without interruption. DH was able to take Wednesday off work and took me to the Doctor. Thursday I only had my daughter with me, so we could take it easy. Friday night, I had to take my daughter to the hospital, but by then I was feeling WAY better than I did on Monday DH blessed me with a sleep in on Saturday, and he NEVER lets that happen because Saturday is HIS day to sleep in Had to take my son to the hospital with an unrelated illness. I sat there, waiting and praising God for His perfect timing. Also, during the week our family faced a time of great difficulty with regard to another family at church. DH and I prayed together, asking God for His wisdom and for the situation to give Glory to Him. We wanted to do NOTHING that would in anyway, take away any glory from Him. In giving our hearts, I believe He upheld us, and the truth was seen. God blessed us to be light in the darkness. Not one time during last week, did God give me more than I could handle. The truth is, that He never does. I might feel differently, I may feel that the troubles outweigh the blessings, but I remembered last week that we can face trial even in the MIDST of obedience Our God is so big, so strong and so mighty. There is NOTHING our God cannot do!!! With love always Faithie
  5. Even before they are born the Word of God will have effect.LT This is SO TRUE!! When I was pregnant with both my babies, I read the praise psalms to my babies and lovingly touched my tummy They have a real heart for the Lord.
  6. Just been thinking lately about God. I want to make Him more personal to my children and I've been wondering if I should teach them some of his names? I read the childrens Bible to my 3yr old and almost 5 yr old children at their midday nap and at night time before they go to sleep. I really want to fill their hearts with a deep and longlasting LOVE for their heavenly Father What are your thoughts about this? Faithie
  7. Thankyou for articulating my thoughts so well Felix
  8. Why dance with the devil when I can sit back and see all of his works from a distance?
  9. WhySoBlind, do you believe my opinion to cover ALL of Islam or just the Jihad part? Can Do
  10. I was listening to a Muslim cleric on the radio, here in Australia this morning. While listening to him, I realized that Jihad is all about the INDIVIDUAL attaining the reward at the total EXPENSE of the lives of others. Basically, you get to kill those whom you 'percieve' as enemies (real or imagined) of Islam and not care one jot for the innocent caught up in the violence. It doesn't seem to matter if you kill other muslims, as long as YOU get the reward To me it is a defining example of how TWISTED satans ways are. It boggles my mind and I know that it shouldn't. 11. Our worship service is a contemoporary service akin to our sister church Hillsong. I really LOVE getting in and worshipping with gusto to contemporary music. Remember even the old fashioned Hymns were contemporary music once Faithie
  12. I'm wondering how women who are stay at home, full time mothers to small children (under 5's) keep their house so nice and clean? I'm so gosh dern tired that I can't be bothered to clean the walls, put the clean clothes away in the draws, DO IRONING. HOW do you all do it? How do you stay motivated? I'm in TOTAL awe of those mothers who can, because to be honest, I really don't want to be bothered, hence my motivation question. Faithie
  13. Brother, welcome to the Kingdom! I pray that you be the seed sown in the good soil. With sisterly love Faithie
  14. How about a Thornalonian, ie; the seed that was sown amongst the thorns and that they're alone, not walking with the Lord. Faithie
  15. It has come to my attention that Oprah is associating with many high profile, outspoken Scientologists. She is pseudo Christian in her words, yet calls many such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta and more, her closest friends. There are women who devotedly watch her show, acess her website, purchase her magazine and accept the dross that she perpertrates as thinly veiled doctrine. I wonder if you think, that she is indeed a cult leader? Can Do
  16. My answer to the question you pose in the title of your thread is this DBBB..... For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Sin is sin and to God, I believe it lacks no distinction. We are all sinners, regardless of the sin involved. YSIC Faithie
  17. Yeah, the good ol' days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ROFL, now if a WOMAN said that
  18. Well, if your question hasn't been answered - go ahead! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, I will. CANDO!!!!! (((((((((FAITHEEEEEEEE)))))))))) Great to hear from you again!!!! Hows you these days? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doin good sweet Sista and your awesomely incredible self???
  19. Signs of the times, and I just wanna Like some posters have said, it'll be legal to have intercourse with just about anything soon. The world is crashing down, to it's detriment. Some looney will want to marry their ironing board no doubt
  20. Just estimating here....I doubt you would get as many as 2 in 10 women, who after having an abortion, would say in 5 years time, that they were glad that they'd done it. I wonder if they remember the date that they allowed the baby to die, or if they block it, or try to justify it to themselves or others. Just my two cents worth.
  21. Hillsong exports God to the City of Love Emma-Kate Symons, Paris September 26, 2005 THE Hillsong invasion of continental Europe got off to a rousing start on Friday night when the Australian Pentecostal church packed a Paris auditorium with stylish young worshippers at its inaugural French service. In staunchly secular France, fewer than one in five attend church despite the country's deep Catholic roots. But the all-singing, all-dancing Hillsong service, conducted simultaneously in French and English, with the star attraction being Australian preacher Brian Houston, had no trouble filling 300 seats in the Espace Saint-Martin, near the Louvre Museum. Hundreds more eager young worshippers, dressed as if attending an art gallery or nightclub, were turned away for lack of space. "Bonsoir, comment ca va? Good evening, how are you all going?" yelled warm-up man Pastor Gary Clarke. The ecstatic crowd threw their hands in the air and danced joyously to the full Hillsong band as they belted out their chart-topping CD tunes of worship against a visual backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. "There are 300 people outside wishing they were inside," he said. "So who said that church is dead?" About 50 of Hillsong's devotees from London came for the Paris launch. Organisers estimated half the congregation was French while the rest were expatriates living in Paris, tourists or those who came from Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. Hillsong has built a strong following in London over the past decade and for 12 months its followers have held small meetings and services in Paris. But Friday was the first official Paris Hillsong night of worship and now there are plans for a Berlin offshoot to add to Hillsong's chapters in Australia, Britain and Kiev in Ukraine. In Australia, Hillsong even has member Louise Markus in federal parliament after she snatched the Sydney seat of Greenway from Labor at the last election. About 30,000 people attended Hillsong's annual conference in Sydney in July and politicians fall over themselves to speak to the congregation. Francois Guernier, 22, has been a Hillsong loyalist since 2001. With his funky haircut, jeans and loose printed shirt he stood on stage next to Pastor Houston in Paris translating into French the exhortations to the congregation to pray that they might be "influential" and "prosper and be in good health". "But when the scripture talks of being prosperous it's not just talking about financial prosperity, it's talking about every part of your life," Pastor Houston said. "There is a special need in France for something like this," Mr Guernier said. "People are looking for something but they can't find it. Lots of the people here have been invited by friends and they just come and they find God and it's cool."
