  1. Thanks everyone. I value your opinions. I understand why one would think it's just exercise and I understand, when after looking into the roots of yoga, that is is not good ground to step on. Could the stretches and moves be done without meditation or chanting, even on the exercise video? Maybe doing the exercise while listening to Christian music? Well, until a video that comes out that says there is no chanting or music or has an instructor running their mouth about what do imagine or think or not to think, for that matter, I guess I'll pass on the entire idea. Thanks again.
  2. Hi WorkinProgress, I used to go to a very legalistic church. Their thought was that if a Christian listened to Christian music that had a slight beat to it, then they were being bad Christians. That was just one thing, but I high tailed it out of there. They drove me nuts. I wanted the word of GOD, not their word, you know. Anyway, I'm surprised that no one has responded with any thought regarding the issue. I'm waiting with ya! :???:
  3. Hey everyone, It's been a while since I've been here.
  4. Some people think that "20 years ago I walked down the aisle and said my prayer, so I'm saved" but they haven't been back to church since that day. Was their profession real? If your profession of faith is real then you will continue in the faith - a perseverence in the faith.
  5. Philly Cheese Steak would be my favorite. Seond place is a fried egg samich on toast
  6. Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a believer. Most are my brothers and sisters in Christ and I can easily speak of the bible and of Jesus with them. The ones that are not believers know that I am a believer, but I do find it difficult to speak of the bible and of Jesus to them. It is easy for me to just invite them to church though as I've done with everyone. One I invited to Easter service and she got saved and is a now a growing Christian. I've learned the power of simply asking a friend to go to church with you. I don't know how to approach a non believer and just start talking about Jesus without making them mad or running them off. If they give me a bit of interest and open that door then I'm in there and it will be hard to shut me up.
  7. What you are saying is that we must "pull our boot straps up" and continue on? I believe that is what we should do. Thank you, Rosanne. I understand what you are saying. Thank you for sharing with us.
  8. One lady moved out of state due to a job. When she was here we did continue to "chat" when in passing. Before she moved I gave her a hug. I will miss not seeing her. The other lady, well, we just smile and wave. She doesn't even allow her little girl to play with my little girl. Whereas before, they played almost daily. I think out of the two of them she judged me. I don't really care to get close to her again. I have forgiven them both.
  9. Yes, I was betrayed by two sisters in Christ. I went to them about a personal matter asking for prayer and support. I had to ask God for a forgiving heart towards them. I eventually forgave them. Our relationship was never the same though and I missed that. We continued to say hello and wave and do the "hi, how you doing", thing but that was it.
  10. I took that test and my top one showed "Serving". It fits because I love to serve and I am active in my church with this gift.
  11. Yes, PLEASE, trust what Prime Number just said. Ask God to give you comfort and peace.
  12. I'll read the scripture that you posted. Thanks for posting and giving us more to equipt us with in our daily walk.
  13. I don't think you are over reacting. I can't believe they laughed while you cried. If leaving is what you want, then I hope any transition will come easily for you. Pray before you do anything though.
  14. Meg, we feel that way about post 80's Disney also. Remember 'Steamboat Willie' from the 1930's? I grin thinking about it!
  15. I also greet them with a smile and "good to see you." I don't know their past or what they are dealing with. I am just glad they are there. I went to one of our MOMS meeting at church once and during brunch I sat next to a lady that I didn't recognize. I said hello to her and asked if it was her first visit. I began to see that she was becoming upset but trying not to at the same time. About that time another lady sat with us. My heart broke as she opened up to us about her home life and that her husband had left her... Sometime people come in to fellowship with VERY heavy hearts and coming into contact with a caring person to listen to them is comforting. She has since recieved an abundance of spirtitual and emotional support from the woman at the church I attend.
  16. I am a child of God, but still I am not perfect in that because I have my earthly body I will still sin. Sin grievs me. One of my favorite hymns that says it all is, Jesus Paid It All: I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small! Child of weakness, watch and pray. Find in Me thine all in all." Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow'r, and Thine alone, Can change the leper's spots and melt the heart of stone. For nothing good have I whereby Thy grace to claim. I'll wash my garments white in the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb. And when before the throne I stand in Him complete, "Jesus died my soul to save," My lips shall still repeat. Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe; sin has left a crimson stain. He washed it white as snow.
  17. Thank you. I will. I hope anyone else out there will see this and maybe it can be helpful to them also.
  18. I have to reword that. Not compulsively, but like the example I gave.
  19. Yes, but its NOT pornography. That was just the example I used. Thats about all I can say. I'm not doing anything in the physical but in the thoughts. Almost compulsively.
  20. THATS excactly what I've been trying to say!!! Thanks, George.
  21. My question is on repentance. What is going on with the person that repents (they truely are repentive) and the same sin creeps back in, especially if it is a sinful thought, such as coveting or whatever? Does that mean that their prior repentance wasn't genuine EVEN though they felt genuine about it? This is a grueling and cruel cycle. I don't get it. I will give an example. This would be for a man, but I am female. A true believe (male) has a problem with pornography. He falls back in to it ever so subtle, kicks himself around unmercifully because he knows he has failed. He has repented in the past, but the ugly cycle is tormenting him. He repents again. Weeks pass and he fails once more. Again, he is discouraged beyond words and deems himself a failure for life with this issue. What is going on? Tell me your thoughts on repentence and for the person struggling with it.
  22. Yes, Teri Mc, it should be, but sadly, it isn't.
  23. These people are off their rocker. I can't believe they have the following that they do have. Sounds like the leader just had a bad dream one night, woke up, added a little more freakiness to his dream and wha la - his religion. Now, as for their experiment, I wouldn't be shocked at all if they were trying to do what they are saying. I'd be willing to say for certain that many around the world are in some secret back room playing around with embryos. That is sad.
