Deplorable Conditions In Hospitals In New Orleans
disconnected replied to disconnected's topic in World News
I can just imagine being these people and knowing people do want to help and get to you but many are unable and to top it all off you have people shooting at would be rescuers! -
http://www.nola.com/weblogs/nola/ Heartbreaking messages are being posted to NOLA weblogs! These people are not getting needed help, and they are sending out text messages to friends and relatives, desperately hoping help can be sent before they have to watch more people die.

http://www.convoyofhope.org/ I've been looking at donating to this group. We make about $300.00 a week for a family of 6 folks, 2 adults 4 kids 12 and under. We donated $40.00 to our church this past Sunday and will probably donate the same amount to this cause, plus to our church.

All US states allow for religious exemption from immunizations. There are pros and cons on each side of the argument. All my kids have had vaccinations. I would always say pray about your decision though. Ask the Lord what He wants you to do, if this is something that troubles you.

I agree people should donate to needy folks but the Red Cross has caused me some concern with their past actions of witholding money donated for certain purposes and applying them to other causes. There were quite a few complaints about this organization during 9/11 regarding them not releasing funds. I would recommend Believers actually researching who they are giving funds to and maybe choose smaller Faith based organizations. I know some folks may have a problem with my saying this but honestly, we must be held accountable on who we give the income God has blessed us with and what those people do with it.

& you know they will be issuing press releases on the paltry amounts they are sending in.

You know why we share alot of the same charecteristics with other creatures? It's because we all came from the same Creator! As for your questions: I don't have a clue. I do know: While we were created in God's image, that doesn't mean we stayed in His image. Sin changed everything and made us susecptible to death, implying actual physical changes in us. Our life spans have been shortened which suggests some form of degradation of the years. Scientific information changes and perceptions change with new information. The Bible does not.

If you met Yeshua today - How was he dressed?
disconnected replied to Snow4JC's topic in General Discussion
I saw Him last night at church in the faces of several kids that got bused in from poverty stricken neighborhoods. I am so thankful that the Lord used my youngest son to get me down there to help out with the kids for the first time. I think I will be helping out much more from now on. -
Floodwater inundates New Orleans after hurricane
disconnected replied to M45510G1C's topic in World News
I wonder what the long term effects from this will be on our entire country. Not just with gas prices and such but the whole picture. 1.)How many jobs have we lost? 2.)How many people will need more social services due to this for an extended time such as families who've lost a provider or orphaned kids? 3.)Besides the oil refineries what sorts of suppliers have been lost? -
Need wedding advice
disconnected replied to menegroth's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Sounds like she is getting too obsessive about the wedding and it's stressing her out. If you care about her tell her you are worried about her and don't want this wedding to stress her out. Tell her that her marrying you makes for the perfect wedding without anything and make arrangements for her to have a day of from worrying. Spoil her then. Make dinner for her, rent a comedy movie anything you 2 like to do to destress. Also, be honest tell her that her "poor husband to be" has no taste and is relying on her better judgement. -
I grapple with that issue as well. My mom who suffered from Bipolar Disorder & Schizo Affective Disorder committed suicide. I hope that because she was mentally ill that I will see her one day in heaven. I however do not know if she was responsible for her actions.

Congratulations!

No, no, I don't mean give them money to buy guns to kill you. That would be supporting killing others and that is immoral. I was more concerned with the attitude we all have than anything else. Denying them FOOD & MEDICAL CARE won't make them not have weapons though. Wishing them ill won't protect you either. There are ways to be good examples to other nations and to protect your people. You are supposed to care for your family the best YOU can but in the end the only one who can protect them or you is God. Honestly though if prisoners in jail can fashion weapons from whatever they can find, an enemy can make weapons to destroy you without any aid from anyone if so motivated. We need to make sure that when we give aid that it goes to needy people, and not to tyrants and dictators who would misuse things to pursue their own agenda. That is our responsibility.

Man has no control over their lives, we try and try to take that control and we fail. We cannot change anything. War comes, someone wins and there will be a war again. People hate & people fear. We are all children playing with matches. God knows what is going on, and He knows what needs to be done. His love and protection extends far more than any feeble attempt we could make at protecting ourselves. All land is His, All people are His creation. If He stands with you who can stand against you? I am Cherokee/Lakota My ancestors had their land stolen right from under them, my ancestors are being wiped out legally and they comply with this genocide for government benefits. What's even worse is that many of the same people who came along and stole the land now claim to be NDN! I guess we could all band together, kill us a bunch of white people, and take back our land if we could ever agree on anything and quit stealing from each other. I choose the Love of Jesus over this though because it frees me from all the things that the former wouldn't. Like freeing me to love others even when they hurt me. Freeing me from the bondage of depression and drugs. Freeing me from the burden of hate.

We all know that this pull out won't bring peace. I really feel for the settlers who are losing their homes. I wouldn't know what to do if I was told to leave my home by my own government. I would definitely feel betrayed. I think we all should keep all those people in our prayers. They are losing everything.

But what about the religious leaders in our country? Have they not done the same. None of us is worthy enough to recieve God's love. Not one of us! Yes, these people hate the US! They show who their true father is by their fruit. Let us be the ones to show that our Father is God! We cannot change other people and we cannot even change ourselves but we can consent to let God change us. When we do that other people are changed because they see God at work on us! Can we not bless those who curse us? Are we not confident that He is able to protect us? I believe that directly violates what God has commanded us to do. Loving our enemies is not letting them starve. I think God is the only one who should be dealing out any punishment. We certainly cannot talk about the policies of other countries. We don't even follow our own.

Please note that it is not for me to call for anyone's downfall and I would never rejoice at America's or any country's downfall.

thank you for the welcome nebula. I see so many people how remark that there is a time and place for everything, and I used to be the same way. Now I realize that the time is ALWAYS: 1.)Where the Lord wants you to 2.)When the Lord sees fit. We easily succumb to man's timing and requirements of political correctness. We've all already found out that man is very prone to fail but our Father is not.

America seems to have a form of godliness. But I don't think we have cleaned the inside of our cups. Yeah, lots of people envy us, but they also justly hate that we profess to so good while doing secret evils. We cannot call America a righteous nation, America is naked and blind & thinks she is holy.

What a wonderful opportunity this man has to be a witness! We should be praying for this fellow! We are all called to be disciples once we are saved. Alot of the time God has us do things that appear to be foolish to humble us and also so that He can do the work. When this happens, we cannot give credit to ourselves at all, because He works through us.

Hi there, getting unequally yoked is a big mistake. Don't date someone who doesn't share your faith. You will be miserable. I think you need to concentrate more on your life with Jesus than worrying about getting with anyone. If you're serving Him, then if you are meant to be with someone that person will be sent to you. They will share similar goals and you'll have a mission together if the Lord leads you to them. You'll also notice the love you feel for them will feel strong and Holy and clean. Not a craving or desire for their presence but a joy to be with them in Jesus. You need to find a pastor to pray with you and counsel you, and the support of fellow believers in real life ASAP.

I just feel myself that with Christmas being so commercial that I just cannot in good conscience celebrate it by buying anyone in my life gifts. My kids have so many toys they don't even take care of anyway, it's a huge rip off. I spent $700.00 one year on my kids gifts alone. I'm through with that. If Jesus got mad at people selling stuff in his Father's house I seriously doubt he'd be very proud that someone is celebrating commercialism supposedly in His honor. (though I doubt that is His birthdate anyway) But still, I refuse to conform to this world anymore. I know alot of people get defensive over this but with people living on less than 80 cents a day, I just cannot go out and celebrate this holiday by buying people more junk that they don't need. I will however get my little ones involved in giving to others and plan to use the holiday (and every day) to teach them that.
