  1. Hi everyone, Thanks for your responses Called and Mr&Mrs Mike Irish! I had another dream last night. I can only remember part of it though. I saw the Big Ben tower in Great Britian, and all of a sudden, a helicopter crashed a car into the top of it. All sorts of people started to run out. The helicopter then just left the car there. Hmmm... odd. I will be looking for more of your dreams! YSIC, Alison
  2. IslandRose, What does VOG mean? YSIC, Alison
  3. Terry, I must say, you are on track with a lot of what you have said... However, I think that you must clearify whether you believe that you can be saved and still live however you want to or not. We are not called to continue in sin... Not to say that we are perfect, we will still struggle because we are still living in our fleshly bodies... But Jesus' salvation is not a lisence to sin. Jesus did not destroy the law, He fulfiled it. Matt. 5:17 Also, remember that faith without works is dead. James 2:20,26 Our "works" come from a different heart/place then that regarding the "law". James 2:18 We still must strive toward the mark of holiness. 1 Pet. 1:15-16 Holiness is an action, righteousness is by faith. We are still servants of Christ but not servants to the law. Gal. 1:10 Keeping all things in the correct context is what we are called to do. I do not believe that putting more "laws" on our brothers and sisters is right, however, walking in Christ does require dicipline in our hearts that then manifests in our actions. Thanks for bringing this topic to the forefront. It is one that is needed. YSIC, Alison
  4. Sam, That is funny... hehehe :oww: Senerhu, I understand. I agree with the posting of just the vs. and let them go look it up (provided that they have a Bible and aren't too lazy) :x: :x: YSIC, Alison
  5. senerhu, I understand what you are saying... However, many others read these posts and possibly grow because of them who are not seasoned Christians... So, I think it is a good policy to follow by posting so that anyone at any stage in their walk can understand, or at least be able to research and find out the truth regarding what the poster is refering to. Blessings! YSIC, Alison
  6. AMEN to that BPC!!!!! You can't get anymore to the iron hot point as that! Tigerstorm, Take what she said to heart! As they say... you can run, but you can't hide (from God). I will continue to pray for you. YSIC, Alison
  7. Hey everyone! Check out this site! If you have never really understood creationism or would like to know how to respond in defense of creationism, check this out! The Science of Creation Bradley just got off of the phone with the creator of this site. By their conversation, we decided to check it out too. Let us know what you think! YSIC, Alison
  8. I wanted to start a thread on this, though I wasn't quite sure where to start it... So, here it is! First, I would like to state that I believe that some dreams are significant while others may just be dreams... I am not trying to "predict" anything or read into anything, just to hear what you all have experienced too. Okay, last night I had a rapture dream. I use to have them all the time, but I haven't in quite awhile. The ones that I have had in the past (with the exception of one) have taken me all the way up to the rapture, then I would wake up. This was like the many... I was on a bridge holding my youngest cat (Kaylie), and there were all sorts of people around. Under the bridge was a busy hwy. All of a sudden, I got "that feeling" that the rapture was about to happen. (I am not sure how to describe "that feeling", but those of you who have had similar dreams know what I mean.) Then, I looked up (because I heard an odd sound) and I saw an F18 flying backwards. I was like... "What in the world?!" It flew from right to left. Then I noticed beyond a hill on the left side was jet black smoke... like an oil fire, rising. At this time, I was thinking ... "Was that suppose to be the sign before the coming?" Then, in a cloud of smoke before me (along with a voice) I saw (and heard) that, "Everything has been divided up according to each man's work, and they have been divided according to their tribes." All I could think of, was in Revelation where it talks about the 144,000 (Jews) being sealed by God... 12,000 in each tribe. Then I woke up. I love hearing about rapture dreams, because they just remind me (emotionally) how close we are to going home. It is like a little boost of encouragement to keep going in rough times because our time here is short. Praise God for His ability to use all things for our good because we are called according to His purposes!!! Please do share all of your dreams that have inspired or encouraged/uplifted you. They may just do the same for someone else. YSIC, Alison
  9. Praise God - John and Sam! What had brought me to that, was that I had heard someone say that we should look at God as our Friend. They were trying to help others with their prayers. They said to sit an empty chair infront of them and pretend that He was sitting in it. That was to help you talk to Him as a real existing person. I started with that, then moved deeper into new "relationship" relations. The "Daddy" one was second to last. The last was "my Everything". Tigerstorm - God will take you through different stages with Him as He know you are ready. Be patient and take your time, we have eternity. I love all of you, you are all so great! Hang in there Tigerstorm, we are pulling for you! YSIC, Alison
  10. Sweet one, please be encouraged! It is only when Satan attacks us the most that God's plan for you is right at the door. This is why Satan is, well for a lack of a better term... freaking out. It is his last ditch effort to distract and discourage you because he knows that once you have this break through... God will have taken you to the next level in your relationship with Him. The dawn can not come without the night, and you can't lift a heavy weight without first being strengthened... (yes, I know... cheesey, but you get my point) You are right there... don't give up! I will stand in prayer for you as well as our other brothers and sisters here. Keep praying and reading His Word. You will get through soon enough! God's timing is perfect! YSIC, Alison
  11. Jesus lover forever, I am sorry to hear of your struggles in this situation. Please remember that your concern for your friend is a good thing. If you did not love her then you would not care what she did no matter how distructful or not. Sometimes, all we can do is pray and let God do His thing. Sometimes, God uses our walk to witness to others around us. Though, I agree we are not to judge other's salvation (it is something to be worked out between God and the individual), we are to : 1. Make others aware of their follies in a gentle and loving way 2. Pray for them (make sure you are coming from a place of "God's" love) 3. Offer to be there for them if they need you to encourage them when they are ready to change (only God can stir them to change) However, we are called to preach and witness to the lost but not mingle with them. Remember, light has no place with darkness. Sexual sins are extreamly strong and you would be more likely to be influenced by her then her by you (if you just hang out) You have to be careful. Be there for your friend when she is ready and pray for her, but don't be so involved that it pulls you in too. If that happened... who would pull you both out? (rhetorical question) Another thing, when we make the decission for Christ - we die to the flesh. God does not accept a double-minded man. You can't straddle the fence. Remeber the church of Laodicea in Rev 3. They were lukewarm - He spews them out of His mouth. Though we may not be perfect here on earth, we must continue to strive for the mark. If we know something is wrong yet continue to do it...
  12. Tulip, I completely understand! By the way, Welcome to WB! If I could go now... no hesitation baby - I would be gone! However, no matter how much I would like it to be now... the rapture, think of how many might not be included. If it was put off maybe one more day, one more person could come to know Jesus and be included in our family. I know the time we spend here is at times extreamly painful and quite unpleasent... but Jesus suffered much more then us for even just that one last person. (I say this to even encourage myself... not just you sweet sister) Sometimes, I ache inside just longing to go home. To just cuddle up in Jesus' arms and know that I am finally home safe and sound with my first love. That day will be a great one! I also long to see/meet all of my brothers and sisters, where there are no hinderances of our flesh to get in the way. Chin up sweet sis - your not alone! Maybe we can race on the way up... hehehe! I will meet you there! YSIC, Alison
  13. Tigerstorm, Hi there. I understand how you feel. I went through a time like that. One thing that I did that I think made a world of difference was that I first asked God to reveal Himself as my "Daddy"... not just my heavenly Father, but Abba (Daddy). There is a huge difference in how you relate to a Daddy then to a Father. A Daddy is much more intimate and shows your dependance on Him. It was difficult for me at first because at the time, my earthly dad... well, he wasn't much of one. So, I really did not have much to relate to this title "Daddy". I kept calling God, "Daddy" and kept praying that He would reveal Himself to me as that... Well, He did. It made me closer to Him then ever before, and there is no going back after that! He wants you to have the closest relationship with Him as you are possibly capable of. Imagine how you feel when you are in love... You only want to talk to that person - day or night. You can't think about anything but that person. If someone were to try and hurt that person, you would get in the way to take the brunt of the blow, so they would be safe. He feels much stronger then that for you. Try to relate to Him in the ways that you can relate to others, ie: Daddy, first love, best friend, etc. It might seem odd at first, but He will draw you in as long as you don't give up. I will keep you in my prayers, you are not alone and you are loved... by Him and by all of us here at WB! YSIC, Alison
  14. Hi all, I think that some of us are just very descriptive in our thoughts and we want to paint a clear picture, if you will. Sometimes, people need examples to understand where someone is coming from... though not everyone is like that. Also, people try to post scriptures regarding the current situation as encouragement, which is what we are suppose to do (edify one another with the Word of God). I do understand what you mean though, some go on and on without making their point, and others simply reroute the topic completely. Lets try to be patient as God is patient and love us all as God created us. YSIC, Alison
  15. dimeministries, First, I would like to say that it is nice that you are trying to give others an idea of what you believe specifically... with sites to boot! To Everybody, Regarding the "denominational" topic... Here are my two cents... First, we are not the only one's who have delt with the denominational split. Those in Paul's day also were bothered by this. Here are examples from the KJV: They weren't called Baptists or Evangelicals, but the concept was the same. I believe that a lot of denominations hide under those specific title banners that they hold, so that others will know the doctrines and rituals that are specific to their practices... (also, so that others will recognize them as a legitimate "church" because they have their "affiliates". ie: whether they put more emphasis on water baptism or speaking in tongues, etc. The problem is that, they aren't all consistant within their own catagories. You can find two churches in the same denomination that hold different beliefs on the importance of those specific practices. Then, you have other churches who get so caught up in their "rituals" that they let those "rituals" over-ride the very Word of God. They place their own opinions higher then what they should. They say that "it is of God", yet the very Word of God specifically states different. They forget that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If the rules changed... He would have told all of us... IN HIS WORD. Times are changing... for the worst! The way is being paved toward the last "church" of the AC. For this to happen, some... who have called themselves believers (even in leadership) have to fall away, so that they can lead others astray. This all has to happen so that God's plan can come to completion - and He will have ALL the glory in the end. Example here: Who are we to question His plan? It is a part of His plan that many can't understand or refuse to accept... it still is. It is not our place to personally question another's salvation, but we are to be wise to the point of knowing who to spend our time with and who to respect in the faith. We are also called to be peace makers, but not to the point of compromising our faith in Jesus. I think that no matter what "church" we go to, we must make sure that they preach/teach according to the accurate Word of God. We must hold everyone accountable to that Word, just as we should be held accountable to it. It is kind of like how we look at "trust". People have to earn our trust, how much more when dealing with spiritual issues? Always study the Word, always pray for yourself and for others and continue to walk according to His Word at the ability that God gave you. YSIC, Alison
  16. Thank you so much everyone for your words of encouragement and your prayers. You have all helped me feel much better in my time of dryness. I appreciate each and everyone of you so much! You are the best brothers and sisters I could ever ask for. Paul, Your words are so true sweet brother. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that you did. Know that God has used you this day! Blessings to you, for you have been a great blessing! YSIC, Alison  ******************************************************************* Kittylover, And that you did my sweet sister! We each have verses that we hold to in times of crisis... but they are not always the same verses as others. You have just added to my verses! Blessings to you too my sweet sister, for you also have been a great blessing! YSIC, Alison  ******************************************************************* I can tell you from experience that that is satan trying to knock you over. You are so awesome!!! Take a look at your posts, fun, full of wisdom, and love!!!!! YOU DO!!!!!!! You have contributed much to worthy. Now, you are proly refurring to life outside the computer, the way you are in here, I am sure you are blessing others there too. God has a plan for you, and a purpose, and by doubting God (whether He is using you, whether you are blessing others) You've allowed the deciever to come in! You are not useless! You have Christ in your heart, and even when you don't reap the rewards of the seeds you've sown, doesn't mean it ain't growing! I have accidently blessed folks (it is not as if I have blessed them any way, it is Christ through you),....they come back days later , and tell me something that I had no clue affected them. You are a light in this dark world!!!! Don't let your flame die out because you can't ese the fruit of your labors!!!!! You totally rock, you are awesome, and I wish I knew you in person!!!!!! Hippo's Hope, First, thank you so much for the compliment regarding Bradley. He is the best! I have posted on that same thread my thoughts toward him as well. Secondly, thank you so much for your encouraging words! You have been a great edifyer to me! What you have said about "accidently" being a blessing... I know this is true, because many of you have done just that for Bradley and I. The Bible says that at times, we have entertained angels unawares. It is nice to be reminded. I look forward to the day, coming very soon - I pray, that we will be able to meet in person. On that day, I will hug each and every one of you. I will greatly express my appreciation towards you for all to know how wonderful you are! Edifying the Body (individually and entirely) has to be one of the greatest jobs that we have. Sometimes, the wind picks up and whips our flame around a bit... there has to be someone to help shield the wind or relight the flame... if needed. As long as we keep enough oil in our lamps, we can burn bright enough for the others when they need it. I praise God for each of you, my precious brothers and sisters! Thank you for your prayer my wonderful sister! YSIC, Alison  ******************************************************************* Dear sweet brother John, You have always been such a blessing and an inspiration to me. Your words too are so true. I will take them to heart! I will take the extra time to read and pray for others as you (and others) have suggested. I know that you too have been going through your own trials lately, and you allowing the Lord to strengthen you... so that you can give strength to others - is encouraging to me. You truly have a heart toward God! Thank you for always being there for Bradley and I, and uplifting us always before the Lord. You truly are a great blessing. You are continually in our prayers as well, dear brother. We both love and cherish you dearly! You are one of the greatest in the kingdom! We all fall short without Jesus, and with Him at times we struggle (because this is still an imperfect world)... but there are some who, no matter what - stand tall in their faith. Storms may come, and destruction may follow... but strong they stand! You are one of those brother John! We all love you and appreciate you more then you may know! Thanks again for your prayers and encouraging words! YSIC, Alison  ******************************************************************* Cats, My oh my... What can I say about your post... It seems that all I can do is cry. Bradley read it with me, and together we just cried. Your words are so touching to us. You are too in a time, like ours (for different reasons) so that you come from a place of "recent" understanding. Your words are wise and deeply loving. Your heart shows through the love of Christ. I have read the "Footprints" poem, and you recalled it to me. It made me feel very comforted. Thank you so much my sweet dear sister for your post. You have truly touched me (and Bradley as well). I look forward to meeting you one day soon, as well as everyone else here. You have truly been a blessing to me! Thank you! YSIC, Alison  MAY THE BLESSING THAT ALL OF YOU HAVE BLESSED ME WITH, MAKE IT SO THAT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO BLESS OTHERS - BECAUSE OF YOUR SEEDS AND WATER!!!!! Thank you again so very much! You all will be in my prayers for your spoken and unspoken needs! I love each of you dearly, you have been a tramendous blessing and encouragement to me! Thank you! YSIC, Alison
  17. Hi everyone! I am writting this because lately I have been feeling very discouraged. At times, I feel numb and useless. I don't really feel like I have anything to contribute to anyone. I think at those times (which are quite often lately) that if I am not being used (a blessing to others) what good am I. Have any of you felt like this? I have been going through a lot lately, but I don't feel like that is any excuse for emotionally shutting down. I read posts here at WB, and wish that I had some insight to give that might help someone... but ... nothing comes. I have prayed about this, but I am not sure what it is exactly that is causing me to feel like this. Even now, I feel blank trying to explain how I am feeling. Any advice or prayers would be greatly appreciated. YSIC, Alison
  18. SPIRITSONG I would like to know how it was that you came upon this information. I do believe that we should be aware of all that is going on around us, so that we can protect ourselves and those around us. It is a scary thing if we remain in ignorance to the Word of God. For, no matter what we read, see, hear... etc, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and of a sound mind. We are to test the spirits, no matter what form they may come in. The delusion that God will send in the tribulation will be a great one. One that will deceive even the elect if it were possible. This can only happen if... one, they are unaware of what is going on around them. Two, they are unaware of the Words and meanings of God. Three, they don't heed the Holy Spirit's warnings. I commend you spiritsong, for not standing idley by. I pray that you are unoffended by some who may not accept what you provide right away. It takes time to "test the spirits". Of course, some may never see as you do... but give it to the Lord. I personally have never heard of this in particular... But, I have heard of other workings that are leading to the New World Order. What I have heard are mostly, but not totally from the following website: Cutting Edge Please tell us, how you came to this information... and why it is that you believe this specifically... to be true. Thanks for your response! By the way... Kevin: GREAT POST! It was very elequantly worded! YSIC, Alison
  19. 1Cr 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. If your friend is not a christian, and doesn't seem to be leaning in that direction... Then this previous scripture applies. Otherwise, read the following. (meaning some of the same) 2Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 2Th 3:7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Luk 6:28 ... pray for them which despitefully use you. So, the question is... does your friend concider themself to be a christian? Then, once your friend would repent from their wrong... which means to turn from it and do right... If so, then the following applies along with the previous verses. Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. I do agree with the previous posts, and I will pray for you. God will give you the wisdom you need for dealing with this situation. He will protect you also. Psa 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Luk 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: Luk 4:11 And in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. The children are a big concern! If you know that something is not right, as you do... Then you have to do something for their (children's) sake. We as adults must step up in the place of children because they can't take care of themselves. Again, I will be praying for you. Chin up angelinadeb, God is with you. YSIC, Alison
  20. Okay, first I would like to say that... God knows if you are trying. If you are putting Him first and trusting in Him for the strength to be more Christ like. We are still human and being human, we struggle with the sin nature. We are constantly waring with our flesh. God is a forgiving God as long as you have His Son Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Now, pianist4him... I think you got the jist of it... However, some of your comments concern me a bit. I just don't want others to be mislead by misunderstanding. The first part about the 110%, I think I covered that already. By the way, congrats on not smoking! The only other thing I would say is that, God is faitful even if we are not. God is not human and subject to human/sin nature... So, whether we are faithful or not... He can not lie... so He is faithful to His word. Jesus promised to never leave us or forsake us... it is not a conditional promise! Once you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior.. and live accordingly, you are then able to receive ALL of His promises. John is right though... you should be very careful to promise anything to God. It is writen to make your yes mean yes, and your no mean no. But not to sware, either by heaven or earth, by anything that is in either, nor by God himself, nor your own self... for you can not change one thing on your own... like your "natural" hair color, eye color... you get the point. Instead, why don't you try just asking God to help you to change the behaviors that are unpleasing in His eyes... or yours. Remeber, He is faithful... YSIC, Alison
  21. Hi there, I completely agree with all of these posts... though I would like to add one thing. You do need to report them... at the very least - to the church! They should not be in a leadership role if they are involved in actions like this. They should not have access to others who may be vulnerable to their twisted manipulation. You have apparently been through a lot, and you should talk to someone about that... someone trustworthy. You know that what is going on is wrong. You do know right from wrong, so you know if someone is stepping over the line. You should be very careful, because some people have been known to loose it to the point of murder because of things like this. It is enough to make you wonder if they have done this before with others. Hopefully not. Someone needs to make sure that they can't do this again. You need to tell someone. It may be uncomfortable, but you did go along with it. If you think you are adult enough for the action, you should be adult enough for stepping up. It is like people who have sex and can't handle getting pregnant. Well, if someone is not ready to possibly have a baby... maybe they should not have sex. Pray for forgiveness for one... Pray for strength and wisdom in this situation so that you will do what is right. Recommit yourself to God and make Him first. I will be praying for you. In Christ's Love, Alison
  22. Hey there. All of your posts are great. Now, regarding the "illegal" issue. I am not sure about other states, but in Texas, if the parents don't want you to see their child and you persist... They can have you put in jail... hence the term "jail bait". I have a friend, who is in jail now because of that. You don't just have to actually have sex. The minor could say that you did not, and if the parents say they think you did... because they want you away from their child, the legal system will side with the parents. (They can also file a restraining order on you, and the minor has no say) So, proceed with caution. Take everyone's advice, and meet with the girl's parents. I think that "at home date" idea is a great one. My previous post here was based on what I know of someone who has gone through the "wost case" scenario regarding this situation. I don't want anyone to have to go through that. I pray that everything will work out according to the will of God. YSIC, Alison
  23. Freebird, I would have to say, you are right in feeling uneasy about this relationship. For one, she is illegal. She is underage. Legally, her parents still have a say in her actions. You might ask yourself, why is she so caught up in a relationship with an adult and not someone her own age? The same question for you. Age is not as big of a deal once you get past certain life experiences... which have not come to fruition by age 16. If it is God's will for you to be with her, then taking some time off... at least until she is legally of age, will not destroy your future. If you truly love her, and she truly loves you... that won't change. If either of you is affraid that the other one will find someone else in the mean time... then it wasn't meant to be anyway, right? What is God's will... will be, in His timing. Hope this helps. Sorry if it is not what you wanted to hear. YSIC, Alison
  24. Okay, I just tried to post a reply to you on this... I spent an hour, and lost it... computer issues. :wac: Kitkat, great posts! All scriptures posted here are of the KJV Bible. Gal. 5:16-18 "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." 1 John 2:12 "I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake." 1 John 3:4-6 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him." I think that by us "asking forgiveness" is a way of confessing and repenting. Confessing is to fess up to our wrong and to accept it as unacceptable. Repenting is to recognize and stop or turn from our wrong and do right. The more prone we are to the act of the sin, the more tempting it is for us in our fleshly (sin natured) bodies. We should ask for God to help us to... One: recognize before hand what is wrong and know what is right, and Secondly: to give us the strength to do what is right. As far as the Lord's Prayer... If you read further in Matthew 18, you will find the parable of the unforgiving servant. Notice what Jesus says regarding him in Matt. 18:34-35 "And his lord was wroth (angry), and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." We have to remember to keep everything in the proper context. He said, "Forgive us our debts (trespasses) AS we forgive our debtors (trespassers)." However, we must be careful not to look at forgiveness as a license to sin. Jesus is very clear on where that will place us, like the church of Laodicea. Rev. 3:15-17 "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou were cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew (spit) thee out of My mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." Rev. 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." Well, I hope that I have cleared up some issues... and not confused anyone any further. Let me know if this has helped. YSIC, Alison
  25. Stevehut, I understand where you are coming from. You are concerned about those who think that salvation is a license to sin. Right? I have the same concern. I think that those who fall into that catagory are like the lukewarm church of Laodicea in Revelation, and we know that Jesus spews them out of His mouth. However, I think that you missed the rest of what Senerhu said. The point of his thread, is to get a better understanding of why else we are here. You can't condemn someone for seeking deeper for truth. I agree that, being saved by the grace of the Lord is the most important thing we can do, yes for ourselves. Though I also agree that we can not stop there. I don't think that Senerhu was saying that was where he would stop... though I don't want to put words into his mouth. I know that we can get in an uproar when we may misunderstand others point. I am just trying to clearify both sides. Let me know if I am missing the point completely. I am trying to keep the peace. YSIC, Alison
