  1. So what if pieces of the cross exist today? After all, they are only bits of wood. The true meaning of the crucifixion and the teachings of Jesus are what's important.
  2. Ec:9:5: For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
  3. Topic for discussion. What are your thoughts? http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004571220,00.html
  4. I think often people make the mistake in thinking that these people can be reasoned with and engaged. This is impossible; they have lost any ability to think rationally and are lost in their own distorted beliefs. It doesn't matter what their religion says: they think they are above it and are on a "divine" mission.
  5. Further to what Ronald says...... When you start work you do not necessarily have to finish your education. There's lots of ways to obtain qualifications without being a full time student. It only needs commitment from you. In the first company I worked in, there was this guy who left education and started work at 14 (the age you could leave in the 1940s), yet he continued with his studies and by the time he retired, he had two university degrees, was a Professor and on a very high wage! I am in full time work and currently studying for (another) diploma.
  6. OK, so if you are going to stick at our course, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to do that as a job afterwards. It is as much evidence of your ability and you can always change career later.
  7. Have you considered going for a job and pursuing your studies via distance learning or nightclass in your own time? You can start it when you have decided what you want to do. Have you considered taking a year out to "broaden your experience"? What about vocational training? Some of my friends have done this and it has worked well for them. If you do not like the career path you are on, you are better to change sooner than later as the longer you leave it, the harder it will be. Do not fool yourself into thinking you will get used to it, as you never will. I've been in that situation myself, in a job that I hated, but you just have to keep at it (after all, you still need to be able to pay the bills) and always keep looking for a new job. I used to keep a payslip in my wallet then which I would use to remind myself why I was there. Keep looking long enough and you will find something better.
  8. In my opinion: Evolution IS Creation. The only question is the timescale.
  9. Marc, My views entirely. I believe that the unbeliever or the unrepentant are destined to spend eternity in obscurity as opposed to going to hell for a good roasting, which is reserved for the evil types.
  10. If the "big bang" theory is correct, then this is the work of God. Who are we to question God's ways? Probably the words in Genesis were put down in an easy way for Man to understand. Men were put to death for stating that the world was round and that the earth went round the sun, but the idea that the earth was flat and the sun went round the earth was man's and not God's. Evidence shows evolution, and this is all God's work and part of His plan. At the end of it all, why should it matter so much how everything happened? What is more important is the present day, and living our lives according to the Lord's teaching.
  11. I wouldn't trust Bin Laden to keep his word as far as I could chuck him!
  12. There are obviously references in there which hark back to religious ideas, and the theme is about regaining the world for the common man, and undoing some of the wrong that man has done. However, I think everyone needs to remember that untimately the Matrix movies are for entertainment, and it's pure fiction!
  13. Whether you believe this "Kryon" thing is demonic, or just sadly misguided, you should remember that it is a cult, preying on those who are vulnerable. It's easy to scoff at names such as "Lightworkers" "Indigo Children" and so on, but vulnerable people are taken in by this nonsense. Cults, whether demonic, satanic new age or even "so-called" Christian are an abomination, an affront to God and a distortion of morality. Hence is is every good Christian's duty to challenge and expose them for what they are.
