Re 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Re 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. The first six have been for the most part agreed upon being: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, & Rome. So what nation is the seventh, and the eighth if you think it is here now? and one is, would be the one that ruled the world during the writing of Revelation, which is the Roman Empire, this was the sixth empire, five have fallen, one is, that would make the sixth the Roman Empire, this is the one which recieves the deadly wound, which revives, the Beast that was and is not will recieve power from this revived Roman empire, and he desends out of the bottomless pit, this revived Roman Empire will destroy the harlot which rides on the back of the Beast, showing that she has had influence over the beast, and further revelation is the fact she has influence over tonges, nations and peoples, her boarders are not limited by national boarders, and the fact that she suduces kingdoms and makes them drunk with her forication reveals her influence, and the cup being filled with blood, reveals the fact she caused the death of many saints, likely those who would not submit to false teachings, and taught or preached the true gospel, and she used her influence through kings and goverments to fulfill her desires. Babylon is not Jerusalem, there is a book that I believe has solid evidence and understanding of end time prophesy, the name of the book is: The Coming World Leader, the Author is David Hocking, here are some excerpts; a beast comes out of the Mediterranean Sea and has seven heads and ten horns. One of its heads received a deadly wound and was brought back to life. We believe this sixth head is the one that received the fatal blow. It came back to Life as a ten-nation (ten horns) confederacy, making it the seventh head, out of which will come a world dictator. Chapter 17 introduces us to a woman who sits on the beast with seven heads and ten horns. She is called "the great harlot, " and the name on her forehead is: "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth. " In chapter 18 we see the fall of Babylon the Great. It appears this chapter is a detailed account of what is described in the closing verses of chapter 17. Many Bible teachers see the destruction of the woman as a removal of the world religious order, and the destruction of the city called " Babylon the Great " as the end of the political system that controls the entire world. That is difficult to prove. A simple reading of the text suggests that the fall of Babylon the Great is the destruction of the woman; she is Babylon the Great. The beast is destroyed by the return of Jesus Christ (19:11-21). The beast and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire (19:20) The woman is destroyed by the ten kings (horns) who form the political alliance through which the beast ascends to power. The woman pictures a false religion that will dominate the world in the tribulation period, whereas the beast symbolizes the world government of the last half of the tribulation period. Both symbols illustrate the past as well as the present. Past history has demonstrated the awful reality of both systems-religious and political-as the have been corrupted by human depravity and moral degradation. The religious system of the end times will be led by the false prophet (13:11-18) whereas the political system will be led by the beast we know as the antichrist (13:1-10). The Woman On The Beast (17:1-18) (1) Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, " Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, (2) with whom the kings of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fernication. (18) And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth" The Definition of the Woman (17:1-6, 15) The announcement of judgment. When John is invited to see this great harlot who sits on many waters, he is told he will be viewing her judgment. The description of her as the "great harlot" emphasizes the all-pervasive influence of this woman throughout history and the seriousness of that influence in the eyes of God. This is not to be taken lightly. Revelation 19:2 is the response of a great multitude in heaven over the fall of the harlot, Babylon the Great. This praise honors God because " He has judged the great harlot, " avenging the blood of His servants which the harlot has shed throughout history. The authority of the woman. the influence of this harlot is quite extensive; a\she "sits on many waters," representing "peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues" (vv.1,15). Her influence has invaded all nations of the world. John saw the woman "sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns" (17:3). It was in a desolate place that John viewed this woman on the beast, reminding us that death not life is the environment in which the harlot and the beast thrive. The woman sits on the beast, exercising authority and influence over it. Whatever the woman represents, she has dominated all the great empires of the world and will be prominent in the tribulation as well. Perhaps the most fascinating statement of all concerning her authority and influence is the statement of verse 2: "With whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication." Fornication is sexual immorality. Symbolically, this harlot has used sex and drunkenness to entice and seduce world leaders and the inhabitants of the world. (cf 18:3, 9, 23; 19:2).what a graphic picture of deception, manipulation, and seduction. Throughout history, the story has been repeated. This harlot has affected all nations, and God will judge her for it and destroy her once for all. The appearance of the woman,. It is tempting to relate the appearance of this woman with the lavish wealth of the Roman Catholic church. That view point was the strong opinion of the Reformers, as we might expect. It was also the view of Tertullian, Jerome, Augustine, and most Bible commentators throughout medieval church history. Protestant Bible scholars have been strongly influenced to identify this woman as the Roman Church. That may be the case / time will tell. However, it is important to see that the woman sits on the beast whose heads represent the empires of past and future world history. The Roman Catholic Church is a part of the problem, but cannot be the only problem in the prophetic puzzle. False religion is found among protestants as well as Catholics. False religion has permeated all the cultures of the world and has produced a variety of beliefs and practices incompatible with orthodox Christianity. Organized religion has never been a friend to true believers in the One True God and his Messiah, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Devotion to our God has often been set aside by those who prefer pomp and lavish display. Spiritual commitment has never been the "bottom line" for those dedicated to power and wealth.

The bible teaches us that if we believe on him we are not condemned, but if we believe not we are already condemned, that would mean that if we do not know Jesus as savior we are lost. This is a paste from an earlier post, some of this may be redundant, but it points out why there are barriers that separate our belief systems, I believe the bible is the foundation which we must build our faith upon, Jesus is the Word and there is no other foundation which we can lay, that will stand. And I want to say that thier are most likely a number of them who are saved, not by the doctrines of the Roman church, or doctrines of men, but through the gospol, there are a number of catholics who write on these boards and I believe they are searching for the truth, I believe that no religion can save you, only by placing your trust in Jesus and his work on the cross, by which he redeemed us, can you be saved, and I believe that almost all catholics would say they agree with that statement, but..., and this is where the problem arises, how the gift is administered, they make faith a system of proceedures, they place "Saints" between you and God, God only has children, he does not have any who are closer to him, or removed from him, yes it is true that are sins separate use fro God, but if you are a child of God then you have an advocate with the Father, and if you ask for forgeness he is just and faithful to forgive us our sins. There are many religions that will say Jesus is a way, or one way to heaven, but not the only way, should we then say, well as long as you believe in Jesus than you are saved? No! Jesus is the way, He is the narrow gate, broad is the path to destruction, and many who enter in, there is no window left open, there is no second chance, no purgatory where you can pay of your sin debt, I wish that people who are lost could enter in to heaven, but other than Jesus I don't see any other way, least not in my bible. It apears to be the Lord who has the seven spirits, whether or not it is a spiritual meaning where Jesus bought the church which is his bride, which makes them one, or there are seven spirits of God, rember seven is the number of perfection. Idied This is true that Jesus was and is righteous, but jesus did not come to show us the way, he is the way, you may ask what is the difference, Jesus took our unrighteousness and gave us his righteousness, when he paid our sin debt, he removed our sins from us as far as east is from west, this picture of our sins being removed from us reveals that we are made righteous, not that we can achieve righteous, he saved those who believe on him, he fully paid our debt, we would be utterly lost without his sacrifice, to recieve Jesus as saviour you must first realize that you are a sinner, that your sins will send you to the lake of fire forever, and when you relize this hopelessness, than you can call out to the Lord, and he will hear you, then accept his free gift, all of your sins have been paid for, but you need to accept his gift to recieve it, ask and you shall recieve, Jesus did not come to show us how to get to heaven through our own means, in fact our good works are as filthy rags before him, that is why the Pharisees were unable to achive heven because they sought it through there own righteousness, the verse that reads; "not by works of righteousness which we have done", clearly defines salvation is not by our works, or abilities: "but according to his mercy he saved us" only believers can recieve the Holy Spirit, and be one with Him, and you cannot be saved unless Jesus has fully paid you debt, you cannot add anything to it, once you are saved, your good works will account for rewards in heaven, and you evil works will be burned, Grace means unmerited favour, meaning you do not merit it or deserve it, He is the Way, but only through faith in him, who he is, what he did ( the cross) and what he does, make intecession for us,I hope you understand that we cannot drink from the cup that he drank of, if we paid our own sin debt we would be eternally seperated from the Lord

Here are a couple methods the lord will use during the Tribulation period to reach the lost, two Prophets which will be performing miracles, which the whole world will be viewing, most likely via television. The hundred and forty four thousand witnesses, and a strong angel flying over head proclaiming the Gospel,to every nation and people and tongue, before all this happens there will be plagues sent from heaven, this may turn many to Christ, those who do not receive the mark of the beast can be saved, in the dispensation that proceeded the church, the Holy spirit would visit those who believed, but did not dwell with them, this may be the answer to how those during the Tribulation period are saved. This responce seems to make the most sence to me: this is a Paste. If God gives you prophetic information that you are to spread, then how were you or your friend able to accomplish this two days prior to 9/11 and how many people were told about this and WHAT GOOD DID IT DO? I mean what is the purpose? Could it have changed? Was the rise of Hiltler prophesized? the first world war? The prophesy of end times has already been written, it will not change, if there are further revelations the Lord wanted us to know he would have written it in his book, he spoke volumes on how people would be, how the world system would operate, there are many specifics, but there are things that we don't need to know, like 911, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that there will be attemps on this country, the church is the only reason that God has not Judged this nation, or the rest of the world. there was talk of a terorist attacks in the news prior to 911, the attack of the Cole, the Seatle and New York city planned attacks that were foiled, and the missing neucular weaponry most likely sold by the Russian black market, which terrorists would probably have interest in. will they attack again, the news is reporting that it is likely, but remember, The Lord is Lord, Any prophesy that was given, was always accompanied with a way for escape, but with all the prophesy in the bible, and much of it refers to end time, I don"t see the need for new revelation, thats my take.
