  1. Very interesting, and sad at the same time. What was the reward? Money? That is just hard to understand.
  2. To me that is just plain nuts. I mean really. Not everyone shows emotions on thier face like they would in front of a person when they are in thier living room or in front of a computer. THIS is a give me a break news topic.
  3. An "emotionally aware" computer system designed to read people's minds by analysing expressions will be featured at a major London exhibition. Visitors to the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition are being invited to help "train" the computer how to read joy, anger and other expressions. Its designers say there are potential commercial uses, such as picking the right time to sell someone something. But it may also help improve driver safety and help people with autism. The computer, which is connected to a camera, locates and tracks 24 facial "feature points" such as the edge of the nose, the eyebrows and the corners of the mouth. A total of 20 key facial movements - including a nod or shake of the head, a raise of the eyebrow or a pull on the corner of the mouth - have been identified. Combinations of these movements, which are thought to represent underlying emotions, are then fed into software and used to detect the same facial combinations in real-life situations. Subtle variations Peter Robinson, professor of computer technology at the University of Cambridge, said: "The system can already cope with the variation in people's facial composition; for example, if you have a round or thin face, or if you wear glasses or have a beard. "However, there are small variations in the way people express the same emotion." The scientists have been "training" the recognition system by using actors to make different facial expressions. They hope the exhibition will generate valuable new data to improve the programme's ability to read faces. Professor Robinson added: "Our research could enable websites to tailor advertising or products to your mood." For example, he explained, software linked to a webcam could process a person's image, encode the correct emotional state and transmit the information to a website, which could then display products or advertising. Dashboard aid The technology is also being developed for use in cars to improve driver safety. The team is recording the faces of volunteers in driving situations and monitoring facial movements to identify more complex expressions linked to confusion, boredom or tiredness. "We are working with a big car company and they envision this being employed in cars within five years," Professor Robinson said, adding that a camera could be built into the dashboard. The team is also working with colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to develop a wearable version of the system, to help those with conditions, such as autism and Asperger's syndrome, who have particular difficulty in reading other people's facial expressions and emotions. The headset, which is at its first prototype stage, would interpret other people's moods and communicate those to the wearer. The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition runs from Monday 3 July to Thursday 6 July at The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AG. Here is the Link Buster!!
  4. Romans 8:30 declares, "And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified." John 3:15 states that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will "have eternal life." If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, then it was never "eternal" at all. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). This topic has been told, and retold winning and losing debates for as long as man has lived, I would say. I know that once you have Jesus Christ(holy spirit) in your heart that he remains there to help as long as you want him there. IF you were to keep telling him to go, I am assuming he would if you really meant it. It goes without saying scriptures all lead to saved always saved, I am assuming its just hard to see this as truth in some ways. For me its because I have seen people stray so far from God after living a Christian life. But the bible does tell us just because a person lives a certain way, and says things, Does not mean they are Saved truly. Justification must take place in that salvation. Their must be repentance and truly acceptance of Jesus Christ.
  5. I found that on a website. I wish I could come up with somthing like that on my own. I hope to one day be able and gifted enough.
  6. Joseph's Brothers were Jealous of him because people in his town favored him because of his dreams. His father favored him and then his brothers got him to dislike him. Johseph's brothers came up with a plan to kill him. Well they sent Jospeh to look at some sheep or at some land, and told him they would be there and he was not. When Joseph went to look for them in town they pointed at him and said that they wanted to kill him. Instead of killing him he was put in pit and then Prison so he could live. That is what I gathered from that. I also agree with what Giaour said. I did not even read that post. THat one makes more sense than mine.
  7. Yes, I agree. The holy spirit is who we have here with us. I see your point.
  8. From what I know its illgeal to marry just to get in the contry without really loving someone?? I hope they know what they are doing. As far as this woman wanting you to babysit and do things for them, I agree its going to take some time to do this. If your thoughts on her are weary, I would stay a distance until they are clear. Its dangerous because so many people these days lie. God wants us to love another, thats truth. But we can love without letting someone we do not know step on us. I know only you can know when your suppose to allow such a friendship. Your and adult, and you know your bounderies. I myself would be scared, and weary. I will pray GOd helps your family on this. Have you talked to your father about this?? What does he say???
  9. The question for me is this: IS the holy spirit in that church?? Is the church giving out the word? Are people spritially filled?? If not, then one or two things need to happen. Someone needs to be in charge and give people the word they need. or Its time to move on. If we are not teaching and depending on someone else who is Human and will fall ect. then we are not relying much on anything. WE need God and his word, and his spiritally given gifts ect. We need meat! If we are not attempting give, its harder to get. Because we cannot depend on man to provide this. Fellowship is somethng we are selves can also handle. Invite them to your home, or have meetings set up by you at the church in groups. By Age, or clubs ect. Do not wait for others, because it will only lag behind. God is there, and if no one helps you to get to him, then we must get him ourselves and help others in the process.
  10. More and more people go to church to see whats there for themselves. They are forgetting that we are to go to see what we can do. Not just in the CHurches walls, but outside the walls. When we learn and are suppose to share the information. We cannot be what is there for me type additude, because when we do that there is nothing. We must take on learning the bible for ourselves and have bible study groups ect. If everyone waited for what a church ran by Humans non the less did then we would not be learning or doing anything. We are to spread the word, not just sit there and be taught. It will not work.
  11. with all the buildings, and new towns driving out wildlife, what are people suppose to do about this kind of thing?? I don't know about killing an animal because of this because its not thier fault, but is there something people can do??
  12. Jun 18, 1:04 PM (ET) BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - A 75-year-old northeast Ohio woman is recovering from injuries she received this week when a deer got into her home and attacked her. Mary Blake of suburban Cleveland opened her patio door Wednesday to let her border collie back inside and was shocked when a female deer followed close behind. Blake says she tried to shut the door, but the deer knocked it off track and then knocked into Blake and started stomping her. Blake frantically called police as the deer damaged her walls, furniture and some keepsakes. Two police officers arrived and were able to coax the deer outside. Blake was treated at the hospital for bruises and cuts on her arms, legs and stomach. She has 27 stitches on her right knee. Link Ladies and Gentelmen
  13. T, I hope you read what I posted. The post is not saying Pastor is Head of Church, its saying God is. pastor is only an overseer . I hope you can read what I posted for you. It does help understand more about it.
  14. Welcome back. I have not meet you but I will pray for you to feel better. Have a great blessed week.
  15. Yes, God does keep his promises to us. We are to totally trust in him. Trust in his word, and obey them also.
  16. There is only one way to Jesus, and the bible tells us this. THere is only one Gospel. If paul warned us about it, then it was Warned for a reason. THere is only one, and we should keep our eyes straight ahead on Jesus christ our lord and savoir.
  17. I am not going to lie, I get so bored without the TV. I am sick of TV, but at the same I grew up in front of it. I have gone to extremes and put my tread mill in front of it, and my excersise weights ect. I do all I ever do with the dumb TV on. I need to go to one of those support groups for TV addicts. lol I guess you could say the same for the dumb computer too. ITs a sad day when I say this you all. But its the truth!! THis thread opens my eyes, to what I need to do, and I Mean REALLY DO IT. TURN OFF THE TV. Put a tarp over it and let it rot under there. I am a TV addict.!!
  18. Friends will say what they will. If your friend is really a friend then explain. Tell them it was given to you and that your not a begger. Was your friend jealous because you had another friend as interesting?? Pray that God can soften that persons heart. Friends are rare. If a person is going to try to hurt your feelings on purpose do you need them?? IF that person did not mean to hurt you, then just tell them it hurt you and leave it at that.
  19. All you can do is pray. Once you have told her what to do and how to do it, and she will not hear you, then you must let go and let God. We can sow seeds, but we must let that person live the way they will, because we can't change them. WE can love them, and support them, be there, and help them. (I would not say you support the drinking, just support her as in being there for her, but NOT giving money for the habit) Sometimes tough love is the way to go, Tell her what she is doing to herself, and tell her your tired of having to see her this way, and that you need not to be around this, because its wearing you down. Emotionally it is wearing you down. worry, and fear that she is ruining herself and killing herself. That can be strong in words, but I know how it is to see this. Let go and let god. Love her, and be there, but when you get tired, tell her these things, and walk away. Pray in a distance, and ask God to handle this his way.
  20. As a woman who looks back and cringes at what I have done in the past with relationships, I can tell you there is not much you can do except pray and live as an example for her. When I was younger and in love as she I did not see what I should be seeing. It took me a long time to grow and know what to look for in a man before it was to late. Love is blind, you know the saying. Well, alot of times its litteral. Pray for this woman, and show her love, and even if you do not like what she is doing, show support. If you show you do not like it, she will try to go the other way. If you support her, she will get hurt of course, but she will learn from her mistakes, and do what most of us do. Come back stronger, wiser and the better woman from it. Life can be hard sometimes, but we have to live our own life.
  21. Question: "What are the duties of an elder in the church?" Answer: The Bible spells out at least five duties and obligations of an elder: 1) The elders help to settle disputes in the church.
  22. I found this for you. Its very well written..... Question: "How much authority should a pastor have over a church?" Answer: The church is called
  23. "Who were the authors of the books of the Bible?" Answer: The Bible was written by approximately 40 men over the course of 1500 years. Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd. Despite being written by approximately 40 authors over approximately 1500 years, the Bible does not contradict itself and does not contain any errors. The authors all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Few of the books of the Bible specifically name their author. Here are the books of the Bible along with the name of who is most assumed by Biblical scholars to be the author, along with the approximate date of authorship: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy = Moses - 1400 B.C. Joshua = Joshua - 1350 B.C. Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel = Samuel / Nathan / Gad - 1000 - 900 B.C. 1 Kings, 2 Kings = Jeremiah - 600 B.C. 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah = Ezra - 450 B.C. Esther = Mordecai - 400 B.C. Job = Moses - 1400 B.C. Psalms = several different authors, mostly David - 1000 - 400 B.C. Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon = Solomon - 900 B.C. Isaiah = Isaiah - 700 B.C. Jeremiah, Lamentations = Jeremiah - 600 B.C. Ezekiel = Ezekiel - 550 B.C. Daniel = Daniel - 550 B.C. Hosea = Hosea - 750 B.C. Joel = Joel - 850 B.C. Amos = Amos - 750 B.C. Obadiah = Obadiah - 600 B.C. Jonah = Jonah - 700 B.C. Micah = Micah - 700 B.C. Nahum = Nahum - 650 B.C. Habakkuk = Habakkuk - 600 B.C. Zephaniah = Zephaniah - 650 B.C. Haggai = Haggai - 520 B.C. Zechariah = Zechariah - 500 B.C. Malachi = Malachi - 430 B.C. Matthew = Matthew - 55 A.D. Mark = John Mark - 50 A.D. Luke = Luke - 60 A.D. John = John - 90 A.D. Acts = Luke - 65 A.D. Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon = Paul - 50-70 A.D. Hebrews = unknown, best guesses are Paul, Luke, Barnabas, or Apollos - 65 A.D. James = James - 45 A.D. 1 Peter, 2 Peter = Peter - 60 A.D. 1 John, 2 John, 3 John = John - 90 A.D. Jude = Jude - 60 A.D. Revelation = John - 90 A.D. Knowing this we can also say that the bible is still from God~ the Bible itself claims that every word, in every part of the Bible, is inspired by God (1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17) The extent of inspiration can be clearly seen in 2 Timothy 3:16,
