  1. I can tell you one better than that. We regularly have people with warrants on them come to the jail on visitation day to visit another inmate.
  2. Pretty much how I feel.
  3. Me either; he used to be right on the cutting edge but, over the last year, he has become increasingly erratic and 'out there'. This man needs God in his life. I used to like him. Lately, his show seems more like a comedy than a news show.
  4. The grown ups that raised me spent less than they made. It seems that Democrats are the ones acting like teenagers with a new credit card.
  5. As bad as I would love to, I really can't fault the oil companies. They are compainies, not charities. Their profits are huge but their margins are quite small compared to most other fortune 500 companies. I fault the government. If they would lax the enviornmental requirements for new refineries, new oil companies could start up and we could see a true competitive market. I work in the oil business here in Houston for one of the biggest companies in the world. Believe me, the major oil companies are not investing here because they can get cheap labor and avoid taxes by investing in South America. The leases are available....Big Oil is not pursuing very many of them. Again, it's not about a shortage of oil; it's about infrastructure. And Big Oil bought out the smaller companies over the past decade for their own purposes. They continue to swallow up the competition.....my company just bought another major competitor. As for the environmental standards, do you really want the kind of mickey mouse engineering the Chinese or the Brazilians allow in OUR cities? The oil companies are just being typical companies. They are an example of the dark side of free enterprise. They are not the only companies doing this. Most of the major companies are investing in China, India, etc. etc. I do not want Mickey Mouse refineries, but we have to have new ones built. Or Capacity is the same it was in the late 70's.

  7. Firefox is slow for the same reason Explorer is slow; It is doing a bunch of operations in the background to keep you from getting hacked.
  8. To some small extent, sure. Oil is at about $108-$109 now. The record price is about $147 was in July 2008. Source. If Obama is bad for the price of Oil... He wasn't as bad as the speculation that caused $147 Oil when he wasn't President. THose prices were mainly due to China's exploding demand and a decision by OPEC to cut production.
  9. Oil Futures Speculation, like anything else in the free market, is driven by the profit motive. Blaming the energy policies of Obama, as opposed the combined effect to Afghanistan, Iraq, The Revolution(s) happening in the Middle East, Conflict between Israel and Arab Countries, Environmental disasters like the Gulf Oil Spill... Those have a immense amounts more to do with speculation, in light of human greed, where people make tens of thousands of dollars, and Financial Institutions make Millions. Obama has nothing to gain by driving Gas prices up.. People with immense amounts of money and greed, who can actually affect these things, do. Obama's enviornmentalism has driven oil prices up.
  10. The summer before Obama was elected, gas was over 4 dollars a gallon. Gas prices dropped because people quit driving. The pain at the pump was being felt by the distributors, not the consumer. If we want the gas prices to drop again, we need to quit buying it. It will actually cause a price increase. If you have a product that no one is buying, what are you going to do to get it out the door? If your product sells for X amount of dollars and no one's buying it, jacking the price isn't going to make it more desirable. $36,000 on a policemans salary, that's pretty good. Kudos. How many police officers do you know that only work law enforcement for a living? Most of us do the L.E. for the for the retirement and something else for the money. My other line of work involves Caterpillar equipment that is very thirsty for diesel fuel and trucks to move it that are a bit thirsty themselves. There are days I can blow through 120 gallons of diesel on one piece of equipment. You waste 3 to 4 gallons warming a piece of equipment up in the winter time. Some days we have a mandatory class at the P.D. and I show up covered in diesel fuel and dirt. Leave, and go jump right back on equipment. I get off it, take a shower, and jump in a patrol car.

If we want the gas prices to drop again, we need to quit buying it. I thought the gas prices dropped because demand in China and India went way down. From Oct. 2008.
  12. I think we have the best song, "Georgia on my mind."
  13. Changes the withholding scale. Paying same amount. Pay em every week or at the end of the year. All amounts to the same thing.
  14. I have a computer that's at least 5 years old, Windows XP. It's already having speed issues. From looking at the help page about this, I'm not the only one who's had problems like this. If you need to stay with XP, then you might not want to upgrade to Firefox 4. The only problem with not upgrading is that they will eventually quit supplying updates for 3. I've got an old laptop with windows 95 on it and it seems to work quite well. It will contineue to work well as long as you are using programs designed to run on 95.
  15. Hard to say. I am paying more, but I also made more.

If we want the gas prices to drop again, we need to quit buying it. It will actually cause a price increase. I really do not have a choice when I buy gas and diesel. I use $3000+ per month. Bought $1176 worth yesterday. I buy most of it straight from the distributor and he is not going to change which day his truck runs to make me happy.

  18. My friend is an off shore driller. He told me that the oil companies have vast reserves of wells in the gulf an on land that were drilled, flow tested, then capped. He said it all began with Ronald Reagan. He said Reagan implemented a plan in which we would drill wells and have them ready when needed, but not use them until we had to. He said our plan is to suck the Arabs dry before we use our own reserves. According to him, we have the capacity to within one year triple our domestic output of crude. He says the wells are sitting there just waiting to be pumped when decide we need them. He said if the Arabs suddenly cut us off, we could have our capped wells online before the strategic petroleum reserve runs out. According to him, there is no energy crisis. He said we have enough Natural gas online now to power every automobile in this nation. The only crisis we have is the oil companies own the congress.
  19. He may be hated more than Bush was. Many of them view his as a traitor. Bush never was a student or follower of Islam.
  20. It is my personal opinion that pretty much at any point in history the same amount of people are fully possessed. The number of demon spirits has remained constant. The Word tells us that they seek humans to inhabit. It would be my thought that they always find someone and inhabit him or her. When done, they move on to another.
  21. I am just so shocked to hear that. During the election, Obama was going to solve the energy crisis. I was really hoping that gasoline would be free by now. If only enough people had seen through his campaign lies.
  22. Good for you. It's good to have goals. Yep, thats my life ambition.
  23. Oh Lord, that sentence says so much about you. I, I, I, I, I...... "baggy pants", that is most definitely stereotyping. My nephew is a youth pastor and he wears them (they look ridiculous, but he wears them). I will pray. I, I, I. Yes, I am speaking for myself here. The practice of baggy pants and baggy shirts originated with the Bloods. Their purpose was so they can hide weapons. In all actuality, as a personal preference, I personally do not like the skin tight leather that the local punk rock wannabees wear either. Here is the difference. One poses a safety threat to me and the other does not. I treat the two differently. If someone walks up to me wearing skin tight leather, I actually see a lot more than I want to see. If they walk up to me wearing baggy pants, all the guns and knives I have pulled out of that clothing over the years immediately crosses my mind. I arrested someone one time who had a sawed off shotgun hidden in those baggy pants. It is not about what I like and do not like. It is about what does and what does not pose a risk to my safety. Unfortunately, If I did not know your nephew and ran into him on the street, I would treat him as if he were armed until I was able to determine otherwise. Why do you think so many schools have banned baggy clothing? Simple. To help eliminate drugs and weapons. You are not the only person on Worthy who has served as a police officer and has the scars to prove it. Keep your eyes open yes. But "treating all people wearing baggy pants the same"? Stereotyping. My grandma wore baggy pants...... im with you on that one fez i cant help but sense racism/sterotyping in these post, and im from an area in the south thats proud of its racist and segragated past so i know sterotyping/racism when i see it.... i dont mean any disrespect towards you hi.jr. but do you think it could be possible that you have been influenced by racism and not even be aware of it? go before the lord and ask him about it. god bless No. I am not racist. I do not care wht color the people are. I look at circumstances. I do not view 4 20 year old black males leaving a crack house any differently than I view 4 20 year old white males leaving a meth. house. A white kid, Hispanic kid, Indidan kid, and black kid wearing baggy clothing all pose the same weapons concealment threat to me. I view them all the same and treat them all the same. If my memory serves me correctly, all races are presently wearing gang banger inspired baggy clothes.
  24. When you antagonize someone for the sake of your own entertainment, everything you just stated means nothing. You may very well be everything you stated, but your attitude casts a shadow over all your achievements. The Lord isn't going to overlook your shortcomings because you were popular. He doesn't care how many friends you have or what color they are. What He's looking at are the contents of your heart. He searches your inner being to see who you really are, not just who you say you are. You can't hide from Him. The Lord tells us we are the light of the world. How bright is that light shinning when we set out to sow discomfort in the minds and hearts of others? 1 Corinthians 13 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. I agree. Serving The Lord is my priority. The Lord works through me to minister to and help reach many lost and hurting people. Do I always handle things perfectly? No. My hearts desire is to serve Him. I will now tell you a little more about the people who run the store. They are drug dealers. The main reason they hate me hanging out in the store is because it costs them money becuase they can not sell dope when I am there. We have busted them several times over the years. The fact that they further dislike me because I am of another race only makes them more irate. The woman who runs the store is an ordained pastor. She "pastors" a church, sells dope, and runs a night club that regularly has shootings and stabbings in it. I must admit that annoying her does bring me genuine satisfaction. Because she is black? No! Because she is a hypocrite and uses religion to spread racism and as a front for her drug running. I have sent her to prison three times. Me hanging around her store makes her irate, and I must admit I enjoy every second of it.

My grandma wore baggy pants...... Stereotyping is not bad. Nothing wrong with it. Discriminating based soley on a stereotype is where it becomes wrong. Applying what I have learned through over 3000 hours training, not counting college, and over 16 years of experience is not "bad." Through years of experience, I have learned that I do not need to use the same level of caution when I show up at The First Baptist Church to unlock a car door that I need to use when I show up in projects to do it. Why? I have never been hit with a rock or glass bottle at the First Baptist Church but I sure have been in the projects. Stereotyping? Don't know. Don't care. It keeps me alive.
