I am a single mother of two sons, a freelance photographer, and a creative writer (published in both secular and sacred venues). Lady Raven/Raven Shadowwinds is a pen name, or a pseudonym. You'll need to get over that as you'll get no spit samples or intensely identifying information from me. Also, I use a less conventional writing style, writing in pre war (as in pre War for Southern Independence which some of ya'll mistakenly call the 'civil war') southern orthography, which am much closer to the British style than to what is accepted US literary form. This is a deliberate rebellion and not a sign of illiteracy.

I prefer to write essays and poetry, though I have more than one novel I have started. I carry my camera everywhere. I take portraits, black and white photos of scenery, old churches, cemeteries and historical sites - for cash and for fun. My dream would be to take that perfect storm photo, though it would need to be in colour.

I have many interests outside of my art, including but not limited to web page design, history, philosophy, politics, cooking and reading. I like butterflies, ravens, bats, candlelight, anything having to do with dragons, fantasy, and the Viking, Gothic, Celtic, Medieval and Renn periods. I prefer to dress and decorate in a gothic bohemian victorian styles and my musical preferences range from the haunting strains of ethereal darkwave to orchestral gothic doom metal and a whole bunch of things in between.

Quasi-not-Quite-Legal, But Quite Important Warning: I'm not normal. I embrace with gusto the tortured artist temperament and dance freely in and out of it's boundaries. I have requirements for close association that may not be easy for other people to swallow, but that is ok, so long as we both know where we stand. I like people who exercise their mind on a regular basis, people who make judgments based on character rather than on looks, people who understand the subtle balance between being responsible and appreciating the value of emotion, passion, fun, hilarity and strangeness. I am a Christian and a fairly conservative one theologically...but don't tell me there are demon beats to my music or that gothic culture is evil or that heavy eyeliner makes me a sinner. I might have to hit you with my anti-legalism ray a few times. Once to make you straighten up and a few more times just for fun...

I am a libertarian, and I like organic stuff. I have a dream that I probably won't attain, but it is my goal nonetheless. I want to live in off-grid home with sustainable/organic garden that will meet most of my needs. I would never eat another drop of processed agri-engineered food and would recycle most of my garbage. I would spend my time writing, painting and driving around with a camera on the passenger seat. My wardrobe would be outlandish. My friends would be a few genuine ones that I've known for a long time and what little bit of social life I had would be spend with them.
