  1. I'm just going to jump in on this real quick, I've got no idea if anybody else has also because I am not going to read any further since it is late. So pardon me if I repeat someone... So okay, how can you say what is good or bad if there is no standard to go on? You cannot call something "right" or "wrong" or "good" or "bad" unless there is an absolute standard to base this off of. You can have personal feelings about a matter, whether you feel satisfied and agree with something or dissatisfied and disagree with something, but if you take the view of an absolute standard not existing, then everything is relative and there exists no "right" or "wrong". Fortunately, we don't have to discuss that because you already realize that there is an absolute standard and that is exactly why you do have an understanding of what "evil" and "good" actually means. Without this absolute standard, you would only have personal feelings. Personal feelings cannot lead you to say raping an innocent child is wrong, it can only lead you to feel dissatisfied. Thus, when we accept that there exists absolute truth, we must accept that fact that there is an absolute that declares these truths, that establishes what is "good" and what is "wrong". We have stumbled now upon the existence of God and you have just proven to yourself that God does exist whether you like to believe it or not. A God that is absolute, a God that establishes a "truth", not a subjective truth which one can interpret and feel whichever way he likes about it and mold it to personal feelings, but a truth that one can accept at face value or not, a truth which no matter if you "believe" it to actually be truth, is. So whether you like it or dislike it, the existence of God is facing you, and with this an absolute truth which you must accept, or if you choose not, to face the consequences. Oh, and I do believe somebody before this quoted post hinted at the same point. Also, I woln't jump on you for saying "wars are wrong", but I think this is a silly statement to make.
  2. You don't see a problem with getting high????? No, I don't. If done so in a healthy manner (which may or may not be possible with over the counter medicine; but marijuana, for instance, can be used without any dramatic effect on your health) and does not intrude on anyone else's lifestyle, then who cares? Ya know i agree with you soulflyer, if you are able to take a substance which give you pleasure, does not harm your body in anyway, is completely legal, and you are able to use it responsibley, then there is no problem. For example, drinking alcohol. If you drink, and you are over 21 and use it in moderation, i see no problem with it. The problem that this article is trying to get across (although does it poorly) is that teenagers will go out to the store, buy a bottle or two of robotussin, and drink it. Many kids do not know which medicine to get, and some of it can kill you. Almost all over the counter drugs will harm your body when not used with the recommended dosage (Most of them even when used with a recommended dose). The definition of overdose is using more than the recommended dosage. A kid cannot get high without overdosing. Most painkillers, namely any of the opiate family for example, are ADDICTIVE. Some of these medicines can be used in moderation and be very helpful, but when a kid uses oxycodone to feel really nice, he runs to risk of overdosing and dying, he runs the risk of getting addicted. The sole reason that these drugs are legal is for those who can use it in moderation and not run these risks. As for weed, i would see no problem with this substance if it was controlled, if it was used in moderation, and if it was legal. You are right, it does not cause any harm to the body, maybe a little temporary short term memory loss, but that's about it. If you did not have to go to drug dealers who also sell heroin, crack, cocaine, or rolls, then it would be much safer. As it is now though, having to buy weed from drug dealers is an unsafe environment, no matter if you deny it or not, it is. I've had plenty of runs ins in the past with my dealers all tweaked out, asking if want some, trying to get me to do stuff. I've had plenty of run ins with scary people, i've had a gun to my face and been robbed before. If you were able to go into a store, buy some weed that has been grown in a controlled environment, take it home and use it in your own privacy, using it legally and in moderation, then there would be no problem. So if you really do not see a problem with drug use in the world today, my friend, you need get back to reality.

Doesn't anyone want to take a shot at this???? Okay, let's take this step by step: 1. The angel is using the future tense when he tells Mary she will conceive. Why would that bring forth a question if she intended to sleep with Joseph? It's sort of like if i was to tell you that "Thou shalt kill your sister" Even if you were planning on some time in the future to buy a rifle for hunting, you would still have doubt believing this statement. One might even question it. 2. Mary's response indicates that she is puzzled about how this will come about since she will not have relations. Completely skewed, she is puzzled about this because she has not had relations, note the present tense of "seeing I know not a man?" She does not say "seeing i will not know a man" It is perfectly feasible that she would question the angel telling her she will have a baby knowing herself that she has not had sex. 3. Mary conceives by the Holy Spirit; would it be holy for her to then conceive in that same womb by someone else? First of all, i would not see how it is unholy as long as the two are married, but second of all NOBODY (excluding Jesus) is perfect, not even her. So yeah i would argue over this all night long, however i believe Jesus will transform your mind when you are ready. If after everybody debating all this with you and trying to help you out, you still cannot see it, well we have planted the seeds, Jesus will harvest.

Hi Oblix, Thanks for your questions. You are absolutely right...Mary is NOT a diety/God. Just like you, I pray to the one, true God in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I also ask family and friends to pray for me; and I often pray for others, including those here at WB. I believe that when I die I will see God face to face---I will be in the Presence of Jesus. I believe the same of Mary, the mother of Jesus. So I have no problem asking her to pray for me. Nothing spooky about it. As C.S. Lewis once said: "You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body". Peace, Fiosh I'm sorry if i wasn't clear, thanks for trying to answer my question. How do you ask Mary to pray for you without praying to her? Write notes? Just think it and she'll hear you? Talk and she'll hear you? Thanks I talk to her just like I talk to you. you talk to her in person and or over the internet? you realize she is physically dead right? I am physically alive, there is a difference. So are you saying you just talk out loud and she will hear you? Does she hear everything you say? What I realize is that we are spirit and will never die but live forever in Christ. So, yeah, I just talk out loud or in my heart, and she hears me. ( No, I don't normally use the Internet to talk to Mary. I meant "you" in the general sense) So do you believe you can communicate to George Washington (assuming he believes in Jesus) just by talking out loud? The only way i can communicate to Jesus is by praying, I cannot communicate to the dead. You know my friend thinks he can communicate to the dead by putting some stones and candles on the ground. I call him a lunatic pagan.

I pray to God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit as one. This is my way of communicating with Jesus. Now you say that you ask Mary to pray for you, you request Mary to have Jesus bless you. You defend this as saying it's just as asking a priest or a rabbi to pray for you. Here is where i've got a problem: How do you communicate with the dead? The only definition for prayer that i can find is "expressing yourself to a deity" or "communicating with God" and such forth. Now if you are communicating to the dead through prayer, are you saying that Mary is a deity/God? How do the dead hear you? This sounds a little bit like witchcraft to me... Now you may say, well Mary is alive in Christ. That dosn't excuse the matter that Mary is physically dead, and hopefully we can agree that Mary is not a God, and not a "ghost" or "wandering spirit". On the other hand, if you do not communicate to Mary by prayer, maybe you just talk to yourself, or shout to thin air? (sorry if i strayed into sarcasm a bit there, just trying to add emphasis)
  8. I think if you have so much faith and so much belief in that God will move the mountains when you say "move", then the mountains will move at your command. But who can really say that they have 100% belief and trust in Jesus? I personally think it is inhuman. Only God can do that.
  9. Giaour, not all gifts are as noticable as speaking in tongues. Some will come upon you when you most need them, some will always be there. As someone said earlier, those meant to serve will serve. Even glorifying God is using your gifts of praise and thankfulness. There are many types of blessings. Do not worry over these little things, everything you need will be provided. Everything you are meant to have, there is a purpose for it.
  10. I truly cannot believe that there are actual churches of satan. Ugh.
