  1. true, but I think that the topic of gambling and state lotteries just might be an area where we consider if our beliefs/personal convictions may or may not cause a stumbling block for the "weaker" Christian... Shalom Jackie, I'm answering this because someone might REALLY be helped by this answer and isn't just looking for a place to throw a barb. Yes, if a Christian was playing the State Lottery and they knew that someone was offended and would stumble, the Christian's responsibility would be to lay down their freedom in deference of the one who would be offended. That is what the Scriptures say and we are to obey or we are disobeying G-d. And if someone will NOT lay it down, they might consider that it has become an idol in their life, which G-d abhors. This applies to anything that we refuse to lay down for our brother. OMG talk about judging!! I was totally 100% sincere! thanks Vickilynn
  2. that is an awesome testimony Vickilynn, and I am so thankful that the Lord saw fit to care for all needs and that you are still here with us today...God bless you and your family

  5. actually man I do know...and I provided material thinking that you didn't know but in fact you did know, you were playing games with people as your previous post indicates so it would not have mattered in which way I responded to you... You have not addressed me in anyway but with little signals that you take what I have to say as stupidty or ignorance as you have on more than one occassion put the little " " up as your response to me. Please do not be condescending to me in these ways as you haven't taken the time to discover what I do or do not know...and if you don't like what I have to say you can do as many choose to do and simply not respond or ignore me, it makes no difference to me... God bless you in your quest.
  6. Thank you. Now can you point me in the direction to the answer to my question. sure, Jesus is right there...search Him and the word.
  7. just trying to help...you asked a question that appears to have been answered so I thought I would supply something for you that might give a better more detailed instrument of explanation...
  8. There is no other way. Jesus is making the point that one must be born again (from above) to be saved, the first birth (of water) will not do, for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Ok....but that still doesn't answer this question....what does this verse mean? Jesus answered,
  9. if it was a requirement to be baptized in water then the man hanging with Jesus would not have been told that he would see the kingdom of God with Jesus Luk 23:40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? Luk 23:41 "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong." Luk 23:42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord,[fn11] remember me when You come into Your kingdom." Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
  10. oh me too...heavens gate, fortress and the wonder of your cross...all super songs, great truthful messages and make it absolutely possible for me to fall into awesome worship.
  11. It has taken me a long time to stop the attempt to persue personal happiness and it is a difficult thing to do, denying the flesh and soulish desires that make me think that if I only have this or only do that then I will be happy. It wasn't that I didn't want to be holy, it was that I didn't recognize my own stumbling blocks of what I though holiness is. About a year ago, the Lord kept reminding me to deny the flesh. Now when I first heard this I thought He was speaking of only the external things that the flesh desires, it didn't occur to me until much later that denial of the flesh is a wide variety of internal and external things that must be denied. Yes, I have a long long way to go...and daily I ask the Lord to continue to change and correct me. Like my mother always say though, all of our lives in the Lord is spent stretching and refining us until the day we have reached where the Lord wants us to be, and then we die.....I can only hope to attain holiness, but the chances of me being perfected to holiness before my body dies are pretty slim...it is what it is I suppose

  15. what is bound on earth is bound in Heaven what is loosed on earth will be loosed in Heaven.
  16. we battle with the flesh daily... Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. Rom 7:19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Rom 7:20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. the carnal mind rules our flesh Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. In no way is Paul suggesting that the devil is making him do the things he does not want to or not do the things he does...Paul is stating that our flesh is an enemy of the God because it is full of sin that has nothing to do with the devil...and anything that is against Christ is antichrist, as Paul said in 7:21 I find then a law, that EVIL is present in me, the one who wills to do good.
  17. Indeed...good question.. could it mean anything?

    A New Temple

but what makes you so sure that this is a physical temple Paul speaks of...after all the great falling away is and has been occurring and the only temple that exists today is a spiritual temple to be of the church...and isn't it so that there are many antichrists among us even today who believe that the Lord God Himself is their God when in fact they are led by the son of perdition? Look at man, look at the church..look at the sin and abominations already occurring on this earth and the great deceptions that pervade all of society...has not the son of perdition come to sit on the thrones of man's heart already? can someone answer the questions please? Hi Jackie, I do agree that there are many "anti-Christs" and the spirit of anti-Christ is the world. I think the problem is when we try to assert that such truths negate a future prophetic future known as "THE" anti-Christ. Here is one way to look at it: The Bible uses the term "messiah" to refer to earthly Israelite kings such as David. However, those "messiahs" did not negate the coming of "THE" Messiah, Jesus. I see it the same way. There have been many "anti-Christs" all throughout history, but the text above from 2 Thessalonians seems to indicate a singular personality known as the son of perdition or man of sin as coming in the future. Furthermore, as I previously indicated, the fact that we as believers are a spiritual temple both collectively and as individuals really has no bearing on the issue of whether or not a future temple will be built in Israel. Paul and Peter are simply using metaphorical language like when we are called the "body of Christ." The use of "temple" metaphors does not appear to indicate a negation of a future temple structure in the restored nation of Israel, at least not that I can see from Scripture. If you have information or evidence that you feel is insconsistent with my findings, please present this for review. thanks Shiloh...
