  1. Roseanne, I remember what hell this man has put you through from your posts over the past months. I was there, and i escaped with my sanity. Do not go back until healing has taken place. I have a theory, I call it The Spoiled Milk Theory. You have this milk, see, and it's really GOOD! You love this milk and drink of it often. One day, though, the milk has a little film on top of it. you shake it up and drink anyway. A few days later, you open the milk and it STINKS. Really a stench. You know if you partake you will be sick. But it used to be so good! You can't bring yourself to get rid of it! ill you stick it back in the "fridge for a few months and ignore it, hoping that it will become good again after a little time? Of course not. You understand that it cannot become good again. Such is true of marriages, too, with the exception that if over time, some true digging and healing and change takes place, the marriage CAN be healed. But he has not changed, Roseanne. he's just realizing he's lost his punching bag, and he doesn't feel like a man unless he has you to kick around. Insist on counseling. Lots of it. Pray. DO NOT go back because "you love him". He needs to learn how to love. If he can, If it is God's will, you will know. If you see repentance and a Godly attitude from this man, try to repair the marriage. if you do NOT--he is unworthy of you and is not a man of Christ. I'll be praying for you. Don't be his doormat, Roseanne. You deserve real love. :inlove: You deserve to be happy.
  2. Wisdom, I apologize for not seeing your question or replying. I am no longer with that company, "the hypocrite house". I was discharged for putting my job 3rd in my life after God and family. I am now trying to collect unemployment and Golly it's a nightmare. 3 hours wasted today and I didn't even get to speak to a counselor. It's really bad. But you know what? This is such a small problem. and God has taken me out of that hellish situation and is going to put me where He wants me. Hope all is well with you.
  3. Yeah, right! How about some wheat thins? I think they're unleavened--
  4. I get gifts through dreams alot, and now my 13 year old is getting them too. Are they very cryptic? Mine aren't; they are usually pretty straightforward.
  5. Lots of Christians will tell you that the bread must be unleavened bread, like theirs was at the last supper. At my church we do have loaves of bread that we each take a piece of, representing the tearing of Christ's flesh for us. We do have juicy-juice, though, in the teeny cups. No communal cup, thank you. I think as long as your heart is in the right place and you go in a spirit of worship and gratitude, you could eat saltines and water; it's the remembrance that matters, not what type bread you eat, right?
  6. You know, I've been a Christian for years. But all I do is read the Bible and try to be like Jesus. I've never studied calvinism or any of the "ism"s--I think doctrine muddies up waters that are actually pretty clear if it's kept simple. Granted, some things are open to interpretation. But salvation does not hinge on those things. What our salvation hangs on is Christ, and it's very clear what we are to do and how we are saved! :thumb:
  7. He's from Fairview; went to fairview High! I could actually live there--we love the cold. Not the ice, which is about all we get down here in NC if we get anything!
  8. And the earth will be changed just as we will! I can't wait to see it!
  9. I'll be beside you, CD! Do ya wanna ride on The J-Train? Kirk Franklin and Toby Mac do that song on the Momentum CD--It's awesome! "in case of rapture, this computer will be un-manned!" or in my case, un-womanned!
  10. Great timing; I am taking an in-depth test at class in my church this Sunday night! Maybe I'll have more to offer than I know?
  11. Welcome LQ! Always nice to have fresh opinions here. I'm in NC, and have one 13 1/2 year old son--if you wanna learn about him go to either prayer requests or praises. He's definitely a work in progress. (aren't we all?!) I go to a small non-denom. church called Southbrook Community Church where I'm on the Praise team and the Drama team, and am now getting very involved with youth. Anyhoo, it's wonderful to meet you! PS Suzie, my hubby is from Erie too! His family still lives there and we go up now and then! brrrrr!!!
  12. quote golden dragon: Superficially, it appears to be just a freak show, ranging from the seemingly harmless "Entertainment Paganism" ("Dungeons and Dragons," "white witchcraft," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Witchblade") to "Teen Cult Paganism" (teens in Gothic drag, freaky hair colors, tattoos, body piercing, "body art," black garb, studs and chains) What is the link between Buffy and World Governance? Maybe I'm thick, but it's quite a stretch to try to connect a kid's hair color with the belief that earth is a living organism? I agree that there's alot going on but I fail to see the link, and your post seemed to say "see, here's a and here's b so you see that c is here as well", and I don't see any connection. I doubt if any 17 year old with blue hair would either. Please explain? I'd say if anything the link would be the liberals taking over, which is NOT news. Teens are the most liberal of anyone in the world, and change their views weekly. that's just hormones, mostly. Now Al Gore--he's scary. But in my opinion so are televangelists! Where do they fit in this scheme of things?
  13. Well, today is the Day of the Dead, a Mexican Holiday where they honor their dead, I think. Is this day satan's too? Or was that just October 31? look, satan may be the prince of this world. he is so because people allow it! people's weaknesses. HOWEVER, satan is not MY prince. MY prince has already defeated satan--it is right there in the bible. Jesus said satan cannot hurt me. I believe Him. And I still stand by the fact that satan has nothing to do with whether I watch dracula or Jack and the Beanstalk. you STILL have not ansered my queries about fairy tales--you ALSO have not addressed my questions about your witnessing and obeying Christ! Why are you dodging these questions and attacking me for something so silly? This worries me, brother! You are really on a rampage over this, and so many other things really demand the attention of us Christians! Perhaps it's easier to think of the world ? Who said to get the log out of your own eye? I think it was... Jesus?! Jipsah, I'm tired. you take it from here.
  14. Still sizzlin', eh brother? Tell it, tell it, tell it! You're much more eloquent than I, jipsah. I am HUMBLED. For once. What I seriously fear is that I don't do enough every day for Him.
  15. You didn't answer my question about other fairy tales and stories that glorify magic. Do you see those as being "battles with demons"? To me they are all the SAME. Dracula, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Jack o'lanterns, the Monster Mash, Snow White--all the same. FANTASY, and I don't give them any importance in my life. Not until this conversation, that is! I do not see any of it as a battle for my soul or loyalty! I see THAT way of thinking as paranoid. My Lord wants me to love others as I love myself, and tell others about Him. I rrrreeeeaaally don't think either God OR satan takes the other stuff we're so adamantly arguing here seriously! Demons are real, though, and they fight us where we LIVE. For instance, arrogance, pride, vanity, sloth, self-righteousness, piety; these are true demons attacking us all the time, and this attack is ongoing and it's the kind that destroys us. Watching Dracula or even Nosferatu doesn't affect me either way, except to say "Wow, I'm glad movies are better made these days!" God doesn't mind the fantasy--remember, even kids who NEVER EVER see a movie will still pretend to have magical powers!! They still pretend to fly, to be invisible, to be invincible-- It is natural, as long as you keep it in its place, which is right there with Peter Pan and don't give it any more power than THAT!! See, that's how it's overpowered. It's just NOT IMPORTANT! You also didn't answer my question about witnessing to strangers and obeying His command in that way. Do you do that every day? Do you seek out ways to bring strangers to Christ? Do you tithe to the Lord? Follow His commandments every day? If you don't, that's the demons you should be worried about, my brother.
  16. That was an answer to prayer. I guess I don't get an explanation on the power thing. Oh, you prayed that the score for Nosferatu would be realllly bad, huh? :butbut: Couldn't have anything to do with having seen it umpteen times before. I missed whatever you're asking about the "power thing". Is that what I responded to above with Luke chapter 10? You know if you've read the Bible that we have power over Satan in Christ's name. Surely you're not asking for specific scriptures because you doubt the truth of that statement?!
  17. JIPSAH YOU ARE ON FIRE TODAY, MAN! ON FIRE!! How about this for some scripture: Luke 10:17-20 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
  18. QUOTE JIPSAH: Quote where do you see that we have any authority to empower Satan to own or not own a certain day or he has not authority unless we give it to him? Satan has no power that we don't allow him to have. This is the guy who will FLEE if we simply resist him! So if he "owns" a certain day, or anything else, it's because we've given it to him and haven't run him off as it is well within our power to do. As for authority, who gave him any? He has none. If you choose to heed his blandishments then on your head be it. He has no power to compel you to do anything. I couldn't have said this better myself. whatsitmean keeps asking where I get the idea that satan has no power which we do not allow... Well, it's all through the good book, WIM, and I am with Jipsah--satan has already been defeated. He's just to arrogant to admit it yet.The only people who will be with satan when he falls are the arrogant and the fools anyway. He can't hurt me. Christ is all over me and writtne in the book of life big as day is MY name!
  19. Wow, we study hell all the time! Jesus talked alot more about hell than heaven. We just finished an in-depth study of Revelations, and there's plenty of hell-fire in there! You know what? We also have a rock band, hehe... no doctrine; just the good ole B_I_B_L_E. And on Wednesdays? We do sing a hymn or 2 for the old folks. I'm so lucky my church is well-rounded and spirit-filled. I pray that all of you can find a church home that truly fulfills you.
  20. And who do you think you are judging me? I am not lukewarm. I witness for my Lord every day. I do not need to defend myself to you. God knows my heart. I think you'd best back off, brother. I'm no evangelistic minister, but I am on fire for Christ. How many strangers have you witnessed to this week? How many times have you reached out? Out in the real world, to a non-believer? I am not an ACCOMPLICE to anyone's evil, and you are outta order. I am just not an alarmist, and satan hAs NO power over that particular day--no more than any other, and no more than we allow. Are you this way about all fantasy? Beauty and the beast? Cinderella? Princess and the Pea? Jack and the Beanstalk? ALL of these glorify the magic arts, you know!
  21. Whew, thank goodness the "evil day" is over and satan will leave us alone! no more evil plans for him, because it's not "his" day again for another year! If you truly believe that satan himself cares what day of the week it is on our human calendar to plan evil or not, I feel sorry for ya. See, it's PEOPLE that do evil on halloween or any other day. Yes, he is the source of evil. But he didn't circle october 31 and make it particularly evil, guys. HUMANS did that. And yes, it only has the power we allow it to. We watched 30 minutes of Nosferatu and couldn't stand the cheesy music so we went to bed! S Thanks for the props, Jipsah.
  22. by the way: Please see my post in "spiritual warfare" under Harry Potter if you'd like a little more insight into my feelings on fantasy vs reality! See, Dracula and all that stuff falls into the category of MYTH and FANTASY, or IMAGINARY. Not that satan is imaginary, but I doubt he has anything to do with silliness such as vampire folklore. He's much too busy tempting Christians to be self-righteous and prideful.
  23. quote whatsitmean: Seems like the devil doesn't even need his 'angel of light' costume to fool some people, they think he is entertaining enough just way he his, dark and evil. My my my, a little judgemental there. I am not fooled nor do I choose to empower satan by allowing him to "own" October 31! You know, I used to post in that same frame of mind; like everyone else is just a little less than righteous. Pride dost go before a fall. I am plenty secure in my relationship with Christ. Whether I watch Dracula or not is inconsequential. Whether I witness and share Him with others IS what is important, and I certainly do, every day. :thumb: I will pray for you as I hope you will for me!
  24. That haunted church idea is great. This is not "the devil's day"; I give him NO days as his own. He has no power unless we give it to him. Tonight hubby and I will probably watch some campy "dracula" something or other, understanding that it is silliness, and go to bed. :thumb: To me Halloween means it's finally FALL!! Cool and crisp outside, caramel apples and fires in the fireplace, silly movies and popcorn balls...here comes Thanksgiving!
  25. How do you feel about Cinderella? Beauty and the Beast? Princess and the Pea? Snow White? Peter Pan? Fairy tales in general? Come on, stories cannot control you unless you take them seriously. FAIRY TALES and fantasies are perfectly normal parts of childhood! As long as we Christian parents point out the difference in FANTASY and reality, that is! Good grief, you'll have us all reading Bibles by candlelight 24 hours a day! There is nothing wrong with FANTASY. God gave children imaginations, and by the way children who have NEVER seen a movie will still play at being super human or having magical powers! Warned about Harry Potter and Peter Pan? rubbish. Just MHO, of course, but I'm much more liberal than some here.
