  1. I feel there is a message being said here that is extremely offensive to the crucifixation of Jesus Christ for OUR sins. The price Jesus paid for my sins in NO way fell short. I am saved ONLY by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ and absolutely NOTHING ELSE.
  2. You need to take a look at verse 9. Ephesians 2:8-9 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith
  3. Heartworm medicine!!! I almost forgot about that! It will be warm in Florida so I'd better give the dogs their heartworm meds! I have both human and pet first aid kits stocked and ready to go. We picked up a thing last night for plugging the laptop into the cigarette lighter of the van. It was 60% off! Got two movies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a Thomas the Tank Engine movie. Today we are going to Pet Smart and getting ID tags with my aunt and uncle's adress on them.
  4. Goodness! Is this being handled in a scriptural manner at all? What I see is open rebuke, finger pointing, keeping a record of wrongs, and rejecting apologies. This is not going to get anywhere if this is not handled in a scriptural manner and with some love. Another person's rudeness does not justify our own rudeness. We are responsible for our own words and attitudes.
  5. Bibs, we have discussed stopping to meet you. We would LOVE to meet you and your family! If we do, it would be on the way back and maybe we could meet up at a restaurant? Let's see how we do on the way to Florida. If the cat has non stop diarhea and Henry has seizures and the kids whine and cry non stop, and the little one fills his pants, we might me inclined to just haul home as fast as we can! Harry Potter.... very funny! Little Einstein, we'll have to check that out! Is it a TV show as well? I dont let the kids watch much TV so I dont really know what is current. The fact that they dont get to watch much TV means they'll be more interested in the DVD's on our trip! I really hope anyways! I am also considering some oldies, such as: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Willy Wonka And the Chocolate Factory (the old version) Theme songs will not drive me up the wall as I am deaf! My husband's wheelchair does not collapse cause he was hoping the ones that do not collapse would be sturdier and last longer, turns out that is not the case. Next wheelchair will definately be collapsible!
  6. We will be leaving January 2nd for Florida. This will be a 2-3 day drive. Last time we had to pack baby stuff, so at least this time we will not have to pack baby stuff as Galen is a big boy now. ( , my babies are growing too fast!) This is what we have to fit in the van: 2 adults,2 children, 1 big dog, 1 medium sized dog, 1 kitty in her medium sized crate (crate has to be big enough for her bed and litter box, we will use a camping sink for her litter box as it is smaller and has higher sides) Also, a wheelchair that does not fold, and our homeschool stuff. So..what do you think? We have a mini van, the longer type fortunately. We do have a ski rack thingamajig on the top of the van, so much of what we pack we will bungee cord to the top of the van. I am figuring if we cant fit it on top of the van, it's not coming. I am nervous about packing homeschool books and DVD's on top of the van though, unless I can find a SUPER secure waterproof way to do that. We will bring lightweight coats and hats, and leave heavy coats at home. This takes less space. We'll plow through the northern part of the trip as fast as we can. Last year, we brought way too many toys and the van was flooded with toys. This year we have the laptop which is also a portable DVD player so we will get a plug thing so we can plug the laptop into the cigarette lighter (If they make these?) and the kids can be content couch potatoes the whole way. I hope! This will allow us to pack way fewer toys. We will have Color Wonder books with extra markers on hand for Galen who is four, and crossword, etc. books for Tyler who is ten. Can anyone recommend some good movies for a ten year old and 4 year old? What about the house, we are leaving the house in the middle of brutal winter, that will be a first for us. This winter seems to be particularly harsh. I guess we should have the water shut off? What should we leave the heat at? I already know to put the mail on hold. I do have several neighbors I trust.
  7. Good thread, I am in the process of absorbing it all and praying over it. Thank you Bibs.
  8. Something to think about is, if something someone posts makes you angry, how do you respond? This is important. Most responses written in defensiveness just make things a big mess. When you have been offended, it is not a free ticket to behave however you wish. We are each to be responsible for our own words/emoticons. I have seen emoticons used with unmistakable intent of ridiculing, so it is not just our words. I think we should all go read Bibs thread, and we could all learn from it, most definately including myself! To repost the link Bibs shared: http://www.worthyboards.com/index.php?show...=56393&st=0
  9. I believe you, I also believe that alcohol depletes your body of vitamins. So your just basically putting back what the alcohol depletes. If you really want the benefits of vitamins, drink/eat something vitamin rich that does not have alcohol. Aim for a vitamin source that wont give you cirhossis of the liver like beer will eventually do to you.
  10. I agree, and less defensive would help too.
  11. Wow, that is an awesome post Bibs, and I thank you for taking the time to type that out!
  12. And in heaven, our houses will always be clean, so we dont have to be embaressed when we have surprise visits!
  13. Well I know this is probably meant to be a fun thread, but there's some people on this earth I love dearly, and unfortunately have a very strained relationship with them. My hope is they do become born again and I do indeed see them in heaven someday, and whatever differences we had, totally will not matter! I look forward to being able to hear everything as I am deaf, and my husband will be able to walk! Also, the bible is silent on wether or not our pets go to heaven, but I would LOVE for there to be dogs in heaven to play with, snuggle with and etc.! And in heaven, they can kiss away as you will not have to worry about where that mouth has been as far as licking themselves and eating turds cause dogs will not do that in heaven!
  14. Well my reasons for obedience to God are #1, I am a new creature! #2 refer to the first part of my siggy. #3 I TRUST God. I do not feel it is something I must do in order to 'maintain' my salvation. Jesus Christ already took care of that and THAT is where my faith is, NOT in my works! But, I have indeed sinned since I was made into a new creature by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in my heart. God has been there with me every step of the way and never left me,(and I SO am not worthy and deserving at all) though I did ignore him at times. He certainly is an awesome, patient and merciful God to his sheep! 1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!...
  15. OK, here's the deal. The bible does not say we are at risk of losing our salvation, nor that we must produce good works in order to continue being saved. Either we are born again or we are not. IF we have never been born again, then we serve our sinful fleshy selves. If we are born again, then God is whom we serve. As soon as I was born again, it was like I was a whole new creature. And all the glory goes to God. If I am not a new creature, then I was never born again to begin with. I know I am explaining this poorly, so if anyone would like to elaborate or if anyone would like to help me undertsand this more thoroughly, I would appreciate it, as I am learning myself. Especially on that verse in James. Can someone help me understand more about what is meant by faith without works is dead? I have almost grasped that, but not entirely. Let me say I am glad we have people who challenge false teachings and infuse the threads with truth.

  17. Winter Solstice is on the 20th or 21st, not the 25th. But, since you feel it is sin to celebrate on Dec. 25th, do you choose another day to devote to celebrating the birth of Christ? (Which I am assuming you would do for your children if by some odd circumstance you did not know the exact day one of your children was born on)
  18. Fresno Joe, I put a link in my siggy to your post. Merry CHRISTmas!
  19. I am tripping all over myself? I am simply trying to figure out what you are saying. Are you going to clarify or not? I will quote it for you: The chances of that happening are very unlikely; however, if it did happen I would celebrate the birthday on the day the child entered the adoption system or on the day I adopted it and it came to live with me. That's a little different than celebrating the birthday of the God of the Universe who evidently didn't intend for us to know the actual day of his birth. Maybe He didn't want us to celebrate it......I just don't know. All I know is that we don't know when it was, whether we're suppose to celebrate it, and the day that some people do celebrate it was already a celebration that had been taking place for hundreds of years. Maybe birthdays are a big deal to us but not to God? So, are you basically saying that perhaps God made sure we did not know the exact date Jesus was born because it is sin for us to rejoice in the birth of Christ? If not, please clarify the point you are trying to make, cause I am just not getting it. Also, if you do think it is sin for us to celebrate Jesus's birthday, then why isn't it sin to celebrate your children's birthdays? And if you do not think it is sin, then what is the problem?

  21. So what if you adopted a child, and the child's birthday was unknown? Would you simply never celebrate the child's birthday?
  22. And is your own birth and the birth of your family members more siginificant to you than the birth of Christ?
  23. The birth of Christ was important enough that God sent angels to tell the sheperds about it. Luke 8:10-14 10 Then the angel said to them,
  24. The birth of Christ wasn't important enough????? No, I highly doubt that is the reason the date is not marked. (Especially considering the scripture in my siggy) I dont think it is necessarily important that the day we celebrate is EXACTLY on the day Christ was born, but it certainly is nice to set aside a day to really focus on celebrating this WONDERFUL gift to us from God!
