  1. D Smith- thank God I am not your spouse. Here's my thing. If you are a true Christian and living under God's statutes, then there is NO way that you can be able to live a lie. The Holy Spirit convicts- you may be able to ignore it one, two, or hundred times, but we all know that God wins out- EVERYTIME. If my husband would ever cheat on me, I would want to know it immediately. Honestly, I cannot understand some of stupidity on this board. On a lighter note (this post is now directed to you, bbs71), read the Bible and pray. We all know one of the Ten Commandments, which is "Do Not Lie"-seems like the answer is right there. Lift it up to God in prayer- you know His answer on the matter- now pray for the strength to follow through. The truth is, when you tell your husband, God will be with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. I'll pray for you. *I think the mods should strongly consider closing this thread before more false doctrine is spread. This will be my last post.*

  13. No- avoiding things like that does not stifle the brain. The long and short of it is that is either glorifies God or is doesn't. I used to love Shakespeare, Poe, philosophy, etc- but I chose to "stimulate" my brain reading the Bible, or books on Christian living- my personal preference. 1 John 2:15-16 Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure, the lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father. They are from this evil world.

  17. My heart goes out to you brother... All I can say is to continue to pray for them- everyday. Don't get discouraged though, it may take months, years, even decades. My family prayed for almost 3 years for me to come back to God, when I turned my back on Him. They'll feel that tugging, they'll feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit- I know I did. Unfortunately, we can't always say things to bring people to Jesus, so you MUST trust that God has everything under control. He already has this all planned out- that's a comforting thought. Let me share these verses that I seem to post everywhere because they are so awesome : 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. And don't forget Romans 8:28! He will work it all out- take Him at His Word. God Bless you bro Love in Him- Shannon
  18. Wives and Husbands 22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Matthew 5 31"It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' 32But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
