I see that everyone is saying stay away from it, but you're not saying why. You say something about rituals, but my little girl is a girlscout and they have rituals that they perform. I clicked on the link to where they were comparing oes to withcraft, but some of the same things they were saying sounded like a college initiation to me.. So are greek faternities and sororities bad, and should we stay away from them also?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world that both men and women can join. It was established in 1850 by Robert Morris, a lawyer and educator from Boston, Massachusetts who had been an official with the Freemasons. It is based on teachings from the Bible, but is open to people of all monotheistic faiths. It has approximately 10,000 chapters in twenty countries and approximately one million members under its General Grand Chapter. Members of the Order are aged 18 and older; men must be Master Masons and women must have specific relationships with Masons. Originally, a woman would have to be the daughter, widow, wife, sister, or mother of a master Mason, but the Order now allows other relatives as well as allowing Rainbow Girls to become members when they come of age.

I just wanted to know if anyone was a member of OES(Order of the Eastern Star)? I really wanted replies from people who is/was an Eastern Star, not people who make an opinion on what they have read. I have read some cons/pros, but I wanted to know from christians who are/were eastern stars, their point of view.

When I first started reading and posting on this forum. I read a topic about not being married in Heaven. Can anyone tell me, whether or not I will be with my mother and children in heaven. I know we will be praising and worshiping God, but who will we be with? I'm not asking for opinions, because I know that no one really knows. But does it tell us somewhere in the Bible about being with our family in Heaven?

My family and I enjoy movie night on Saturdays. I enjoy spending time together with my hubby and our two lovely girls, who are Kayla 6 and Hannah 2. I really look forward to this time every weekend. We have to work our Movie time around Football games though, or my hubby will be running back and forth trying to watch both. Oh yeah, we have a Thanksgiving tradition, all of my family get together for Thanksgiving and after we eat, we watch a movie. This year we watched Over The Hedge. This movie is hilarious, everyone should check it out.

Here's a transcript of the interview Joel Osteen had with Larry King. I don't know if this is the show you are talking about, but he made some very wishy washy remarks concerning salvation through Jesus Christ. http://apostasywatch.com/ Last night, (6-20-05) Joel and Victoria Osteen were interviewed on CNN by Larry King. Osteen showed clearly why he has the largest church in America. He told everyone, including King, what they wanted to hear. He refused to say that Jesus was the only way to heaven. KING: Because we've had ministers on who said, your record don't count. You either believe in Christ or you don't. If you believe in Christ, you are, you are going to heaven. And if you don't no matter what you've done in your life, you ain't. OSTEEN: Yeah, I don't know. There's probably a balance between. I believe you have to know Christ. But I think that if you know Christ, if you're a believer in God, you're going to have some good works. I think it's a cop-out to say I'm a Christian but I don't ever do anything ... KING: What if you're Jewish or Muslim, you don't accept Christ at all? OSTEEN: You know, I'm very careful about saying who would and wouldn't go to heaven. I don't know ... KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They're wrong, aren't they? OSTEEN: Well, I don't know if I believe they're wrong. I believe here's what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God with (sic) judge a person's heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don't know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don't know. I've seen their sincerity. So I don't know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus

I feel the exact same way, when I talk to ppl. Sometimes I feel empathy, and sometimes I get a cold feeling from them. I am so easy to cry when I know that someone else is going through. I told my husband, it feels like I can feel thier pain. I too thought that I was just over emotional. Sometimes it seems like I can feel wether a person has a good spirit or a evil spirit.

Did God put us together?????

Then you are blaming God for your own sin. This is blasphemy. James said that God does not tempt man to sin. God was SORRY that he made man, because man sinned (Gen. 6:5). To say that the fall was ordained by God is simply a lie. This is why the predestination doctrine is so satanic, because you say that God caused or else wanted all the evil that has happened in the world, but John and James both say that is not possible, that God CANNOT do evil and can't tempt people to do evil. What version is that again? Those are terribly rendered translations, and ones that were made, I might quickly add, with obvious bias towards the perverse predestination doctrine. It is a shame that people have gone so far as to change the Bible itself in order to support the perverted fatalist doctrine of predestination. I agree with you whysoblind. We have the right to choose what we do. God has destined us to be what he wants us to be, but sometimes we choose the long way around. And sometimes that can be marrying the wrong person. But what ever God's will is for us, it will be done. -
I was wondering. I know that the bible says that God ordains marriage and hates divorce, but is every marriage ordained by God. What I am trying to say is, Do you think that just because two people get married, it means that, that marriage was ordained by God. Do you think sometimes a man and a woman can get together for the wrong reasons? Has anyone ever thought that this person isn't the one for me, but because we already have children and we are saved now and can't live in sin anymore, we should just get married. Is anyone married, but don't think that it was ordained by God??

Do you believe in the Bible? Exodus 34:6-7 - "And He [the Lord] passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, 'The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished; He punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.' " Deuteronomy 11:26-28 - "See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse - the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known." Generational curses are judgments that are passed on to individuals because of sins perpetuated in a family in a number of generations. Generational curses are similar to original sin curses because they can be passed down on a generational basis. They differ in that generational curses do not impose eternal judgment. They bring judgment or bondage during an individual's life, reducing the quality of life, until that individual addresses the sin issues that put the curses into place. Moses addressed this issue when the Israelites were preparing to enter the promised land. He told the new generation that was preparing to enter in that they would not enter unless the dealt with their own personal sins and also the sins of their fathers. The account can be found in Leviticus 26:39-42 "Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their fathers' sin they will waste away. But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers - their treachery against me and their hostility toward me, which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies - then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land."
