  1. so, calling islam a religion is the downfall of western civilization? hmmmm Im sorry, but your logic is flawed. Thats calling it what it is, because that IS what it is. You can remain on your high horse if you want-but a horse is a horse, no matter what you call it.
  2. I dont really care who disagrees with me, by the dictionary definition, islam is a religion. So is christianity, and hindu, and Budhism. They are all religion. Im not saying that Islam is right-thats not saying theyre trying to take over the world. Islam is the very definition of evil, and it is a false religion, but it is a religion. and we can fight over their buildings all we want, but unless you change the people, you wont stop it. The more we complain about their buildings, they will either A: laugh at us for being infidels, or B: blame us for being intolerant, and in either case we lose. So you see, no matter what we say about them, to them we are simply infidels, and will laugh at us regardless. And yes, they will say that theirs isnt a religion-its the truth, just like chances are someone will be totally offended that I said that christianity, is also a religion, and totally berate me for it. it doesnt matter if they believe it or not, it doesnt matter if YOU believe it or not. Islam is a religion, and a false one at that. and nothing we say or do about their buildings will change that. We need to change their hearts-not their architecture.
  3. My favorite part was Romney on the big bird thing. The letter for the day is the letter O, and the number is 16 trillion. Obamas saying he slept through the first debate was pretty hilarious to.
  4. Its not necessarily opposition at all, and if you took it as an attack I do apologize, it was not my intent. I was just pointing out that its just part of a building, architecture, nothing more. Its not a threat the people inside are and they will be with or without these towers, we need to to be worrying about how to change the people, not the buildings, because fighting the buildings wont change the people. And other one you are wrong in that by the very definition islam is a religion, and they do have the right to practice it-to say otherwise goes against everything america stands for. They dont have the right, however to takeover or impede others rights which they are trying to do that we need to oppose. But trying to fight their right to build a church is being hypocritical if you ask me. Change the hearts of the people and the building will go away or at least become a tourist trap.
  5. Lol other, what are you doing looking deep into another mans eyes...got new for ya thats how obama always looks lol
  6. ROTFL laughing, I loved that. Its to bad they cant get along like that all the time, otherwise this country might not be in the shape its in.
  7. Who cares, allowing or not allowing muslim architecture, wont slow down the spread of islam. Their just buildings, much like our church buildings are just that, buildings. America, is based on freedom of religion-they have a right to be here, and a right to have their buildings in the way they like them. And the way to change them, isn't by squashing their right to freedom of religion-but by showing the people theres a better way through Jesus.
  8. Im sorry to hear that, your friend and famy are in my prayers.
  9. Im not a huge superchick fan, but I do really like this song, it has a powerful message to it. This isnt the "official video" its something someone put together, but I think it fits well. [media=]
  10. I can see it much better now thanks.
  11. it would be nice if you would increase the font on the small text of your post, I can barely read it on my 23 inch Hi def monitor, and believe me, I have excellent eye sight. The Bible actually, doesnt say not to drink, what it says is not to get drunk. Yes, Jesus first miracle was to change water to wine, and he had wine at the last supper. Its debated how much alcohol content there was (in those days there was 2 kinds of wine-new wine, which had little to no fermentation, and old wine, which is fermented and like what we have today) but In all honesty, theres some things to think about. Why are you drinking? if its because you want to be cool, or to get your mind off a problem, help you think, etc. then chances are you probably shouldnt even have one, because often one can lead for more-especially if its to help solve a problem. How much are you drinking? people say they have different alchohol tolerances. This is true, however, for the average person the tolerance isnt much difference-those people who can drink 6 beers without any adverse affects, can only do so by drinking to much beer to long, and building up the tolerance. The key word here is moderation Are you being a stumbling block? This is a very big one. Do I drink occasionally? yes, keyword is occasionally-and usually with my wife in a fancy restaurant. But each situation is different-if say, Im around someone who has a drinking problem, then by me having one drink, may create a stumbling block. If any member of your family or close friends has or has had a drinking problem, it would be a good idea not to drink at all-just the knowledge that you do could create a stumbling block. If youve had a drinking problem in the past, dont drink. Thats my take on it anyway. Its not necesarily a sin to have an occasional glass of wine-but it is a sin, to get drunk, to let it take priority in your life, and to create a stumbling block for others. So there you have it, theres my opinion, professional or otherwise.
  12. lol no, not from maine, she was from Fargo ND.
  13. if you want your own video monarchy, you should start your own thread to allow it to be approved.
  14. Ok folks, heres your sign, this is an actual call in to a local radio station in fargo ND.
  15. Amazing, one of the best performances of that song ive ever heard, the bagpipes were a nice touch.
  16. On that note, other brought up a good point-about smart phones and facebook. Most people dont think of this, but all cell phones have a GPS, and smart phones, you can choose to turn it on, or off. By default, it is on when you purchase the phone, and if it is on, facebook will use it, and post your location no matter where your at. To solve this, disable the GPS on your smartphone, theres usually a setting on the main screen or in the settings menu to do this. If you do that, facebook will no longer be able to broadcast your movements. (dont worry, the government can still choose to remotely engage that GPS any time they want and find you, just in case of "emergency")
  17. That's why I said they go together just as St. James says in the Bible. An atheist, for example, can always do human good works. That won't save him at all because he has no faith. A person who has faith, but does not allow himself to submit to God in doing His will is also not going to cut it. His faith is dead. It's not faith alone or good deeds alone. I think St. James is saying both faith and the good works that comes from God. I submit to you, that if he has no works, then he has no faith in the first place.
  18. I believe I just stated that 7angel-and my view on it. I even quoted it. My understanding of it is, yes faith without works is dead-because if there is no works there is no faith.
  19. again, selene, to me thats a misinterpretation. You are saved by faith alone-no amount of works will ever get us into heaven. But, I would also like to propose to you, is that if you have faith, then you will do the works-not because you have to, but because you want to. Your faith is shown by your works, James 2:18 says yea, a man may say thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without my works, and I will shewthee my faith by my works. Yes, they go hand in hand in a sense, but its not your works that save you, not in the least bit, it is our faith that saves us, period, bottom line. However, they go hand in hand, because if faith is shown by works-works are a symptom of faith (couldnt think of a better word) if you dont have works, then chances are you don't have faith. Its not that you need both to get to heaven, its that if you honestly have faith, then you will honestly follow Christs commands and do the works.
  20. wow, that is the worst misinterpretation of those verses I have ever seen 7angel. Yes, when Christ returns, we will all face judgement. But like ephesians 2:8-9 states, we are saved by grace through faith, and not of works, least any man should boast. You just dont get it-one sin, is enough to erase all our good works and damn us to hell-so if we are judged by our works, which if we havent accepted Christ on this earth, we will be, then we will spend eternity in hell. The Bible is clear on that.
  21. lol well if you dont want facebook tracking you, dont press the like button. all its doing, is taking everyone who likes the website-and showing you who on your friends list likes it. kinda cheesy, but if you dont hit like, it wont show you to anyone else.
  22. No it doesn't-Gods mercy is shown in Christs sacrifice on the cross. Christ died, the perfect sacrifice for our sins. If we refuse to accept that gift, that is not an argument against Gods mercy-but rather, an argument for mankinds own selfishness. Mercy doesnt mean you can do whatever you want and get away with it-mercy, is giving you a chance to escape the punishment you deserve. If you refuse to take that chance, then thats on you, not on God.
  23. Your missing the point 7angel-you and I, we cannot condemn anyone. We condemn ourselves. Yes, God is a merciful God, the most merciful out there-but unless you accept that mercy, you are going to hell. Period. thats what the Bible says, thats what God says, And unless you can find scripture to back that up, then this discussion is over. You may want to sit here and call God a liar-but in the end, Im not, because no matter what you and me say, what God says goes.
  24. no 7angel, I would not condemn a child. But this isnt about what I would or would not do, I am telling you what God says in the Bible. God tells us in the Bible that we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of G od (romans 2:23) and that the wages of sin is death (eternal damnation in hell) but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (romans 6:23) See the fact of the matter is, God cannot allow sin in His presence-and since adam and eve sinned (shortly after the world was created some 7000 years ago but thats another topic entirely) we have all inherited a sin nature, and we have all sinned, therefore we are all damned to eternal judgement. Which is why God sent His only begotten son to earth to die for us as a perfect sacrifice-to take our punishment (john 3:16, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life) and all we have to do to receive that free gift-and go to heaven, is accept it. See, this isnt about what I would or would not do, that doesnt matter, because nothing I say or do makes a difference (other then accepting His free Gift) Think about it this way, if there is an all-powerful God, which I know with all my heart there is, then said God has the right to set the rules, and those rules don't change, no matter what you or I say or do those rules do not change, and He put those rules, in writing, in the Bible as I've already shown you, so no matter what you "believe" no matter how hard you try to twist scripture to say what you want it to say-those rules will not change-the fact remains, that no matter what without Christs forgiveness, there is no way for us to enter the kingfom of God.
