I'm not sure what a "soul mate" is, exactly. The term is used more frequently than not, I just am not sure what is really meant by it.

Yod seems to "know all"... especially about women....maybe his name, is, in fact "G"od.

salt and light Hi salt and light (and others, as well please!)...would you care to elaborate on the roles of women? not only in the church, but also in society as a whole? (again, please refrain from referring to child-bearing,because some women can not bear children). Thank you....I am sure other females (and maybe even men) could learn from your response. thanks

To be able to see the blessings that God has bestowed upon your role as a woman is well... just awesome Russel Hello Russel, and everyone... care to share what those blessings are? (And please, do not include bearing children...some women can not have children). thanks

I've also heard the statement: "Instead of praying for the Lord to break you, pray that your eyes and heart will be opened so you don't have to be broken..." thanks, Mudfly

Thank you, Dave and Unworthy Servant...I should thank God that He chose you to respond to this. This is exactly what I needed and will make a copy of these words so I can refer to them over and over again. Some times I need to be reminded that what I believe really IS not only a belief, but the TRUTH! God bless each of you, and this board, and all who reads it.

I've seen movies, games, videos, computer discussions, wearing certain things/not wearing certain things, piercings, tatoos, owning different things, banning "fiction" books that aren't quite the Bible (that's why those books aren't actually "The Bible", making a living, but not too much (being successful = bad) and now cards being discussed. Sometimes it's as though some posts are saying Christians can, basically, do nothing "in this world." I don't want to be OF this world, but I do LIVE in it...makes for a big 'ole question mark as to what is "okay" or "not okay" to do. I, for one, do have other activities that I enjoy that do not include church attending, praying, and limiting my time spent only on "Christian-type" computer activities. I think it's important for each individual to pray so that God can speak to their heart. :il:

I tried to ask a question on "Seekers Lounge" but I guess because I'm a member, I couldn't ask there... :x: Dr. Luke, you said "Dread , fear, despair, etc... these things don't come from our Father" when responding to a post. God does allow these things to be, though, doesn't He? I am guessing you are saying that Satan is the one allowing the despair, fear, etc. to happen, but God knows all and allows all, correct? I would like to learn a little more about this, if you don't mind. Becky

Hi Faith You are a psysically beautiful woman, and by posting your picture on here, you may attract a male who is Christian well, if any are single and not too shy to make the first move Other than that, I can say that men are a question most of us women wonder about just as most men probably wonder about us women! I prayed that I would find "the one" years ago. I have been married 18 years now, and we are still going strong/not just "hanging out" but are truly partners I would suggest praying. I truly believe that God DOES have His plan for each of us. I know there are millions of people, and sometimes it's hard to think that God really does care about one little part of our lives, but He does! Like I said, I have been married for 18 years (unheard of in "today's world")...he is not the "Christian" man I would expect (not by "my standards"), but he is a decent man, and I have no doubt that God wanted him in my life! He has been SO good to me and continues to be. Pray and be still and watch what God has for you!! Love WILL come!!! :il:

Adstar, I thought I had made it clear it was a quote. I didn't mean to deceive. Thanks for your input. catsmeow that is awesome about your husband. You are living proof that just being "ourselves" and allowing the Holy Spirt to work within us brings others to God. It seems I am more and more coming in contact with people who are athiests. I hate that word. I am learning that co-workers, in-laws and lots of acquaintences are not believers. I am in my 40's...guess I have not had my eyes this wide open before (?) must be I'm getting more observant in my old age?? God-man thank you for your explanations. I understand exactly what you are saying. This helps a lot. I have read and re-read these comments. You have made valid points/points I can use. thanks Biscuit yes, feel free to PM me websites. Although I don't need "proofs" I believe they may just come in handy. thanks

Dad Ernie, I am not wanting to argue but want to intelligently and confidently discuss these issues.

anyone else care to post on this topic?

thanks for the laugh, God-man!

Hello everyone, Some of you may have seen my other posts.

Dad Ernie, Yes, I have read the Bible...not all the way through, but yes, I was saved at age 13 and believe in the power of prayer and talking directly to God.

Hello everyone, I posted a reply about where these quotes came from on another topic. These are quotes from a discussion I had last evening with a friend. This friend, I have never met, but he obviously has "met" me because of God (I believe that). The reason I believe that, is because he does not have a "religion," is an older man (50's) and seems to be truly seeking the truth. I posted the quotes to see what responses I would receive-I don't think quoting scripture will help. He does believe in God, but in a very different way that is foreign to me. I have posted about 5 (?) quotes all touching on different issues from last night's discussion. I don't know about apologetics and quite frankly, I am not interested in teaching anything. I do feel I have been put in this position of bringing the truth to this individual. I pray about how to do that. I was hoping for some here as well. Please IM me-any / all of you. I am seeking help. Thanks!

"We made God up so that our short lives would have more meaning. It gives us a reason to exist and a reason to not fear death. We made God up to help us cope with life and death. God is in me and you, in all of us already and always has been. It is a way for us humans to cope." comments on this quote? thanks
