  1. Documentation, please. http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/01/26/time/kinsley.html The case for Drudge -- who complacently says his reports are 80% accurate -- is that there ought to be a middle ground between the highest standards and none at all. And the Internet, which can be sort of halfway between a private conversation and formal publication, is a good place for that middle ground. The middle ground, of course, should be acknowledged as such, either explicitly or by convention. People should understand that the information they get this way is middling quality -- better than what their neighbor heard at the dry cleaner's but not as good as the New York Times. And Internet sites that aspire to the highest standards of traditional media (like Slate, where I work) should be held to them. But if Drudge claims only 80% accuracy and can make it over that lowered bar, why not? Forrest... Your are using an article written by a liberal source (CNN) that "claims" something about Matt Drudge that is not true. If you want to start quoting people then you need to source the quote from the individual that made the quote." The fact of the matter is...Matt Drudge made this quote " I've never talked about the reliability of my sources." -- Matt Drudge, Liberty Round Table, Address Before the National Press Club, June 2, 1998 This is HOW you cite a source so that people can verify it and show that you are not using slander to intentionally impune the reputation of a person. The same can be said of your Rush Limbaugh quotes...while some of them are somewhat recognizeable to actual quotes...some of them are not even verifiable. Matt Drudge does give credit for the "80% accuracy" quote to Newsweek magazines Karen Breslau and claims she made it up. Shocking! The mainstream press, especially Newsweek, dislikes Drudge because he broke the Monica Lewinski story and exposed how the liberal media was sitting on the story in an effort to protect their man Bill. 80% accurate indeed.
  2. I just wanna say that I can't find ANY referrence for the quotes that fforestkc attributed to Rush Limbaugh. Aren't there rules about citing your references? He said he got them off of wikiquote...but they are not there. Just trying to clarify because I would like to know the context of these quotes since it is apparently NOT important to him.
  3. Dick Morris' opinions of the Clintons were formed while he was working for them. His disdain for Hilliary is legendary and he has aired much of her dirty laundry (not that libs care). Dick Morris is a political genius, and his judgement is usually right on. Also...Morris' feelings for the Clintons have been aired out over decades...its not like he just started saying this stuff.
  4. I totally agree! Nowadays people seem to pick their church based upon the public services it offers (nursery, teen night, choir, etc..) instead of the teaching. If a church has all the ammenities people will put up with alot...but the second a pastor starts hitting nerves and telling them things that they don't wanna hear....people can't hang.
  5. Stockholm syndrome is not some big mysterious psycological trick. Abused women demonstrate it ALL the time when they repeatedly defend a man who beats them. Elizabeth Smart's case may actually NOT be a case of Stockholm syndrome since she kept a journal during her ordeal and wrote that she hated her abductors. Persons experiencing stockholm syndrome usual don't harbor hard feelings towards their abuser, and often view them as a victim while becoming emotionally attached. If nothing else...Bill O'Reilly is 100% correct that this is something we should talk to our kids about. Kids need to be aware that kidnappers will say and do anything (including make death threats) to keep them in line. Kids should be ready and be aware that its okay to get away if they can...irregardless of what the "bad guy" says.
