  1. Oh my......! What a surprise! I never dreamed they hated us so much......
  2. Yeah, on top of the 6 million they are trying to brush off too Well, we know what we are up against
  3. Hi Botz, I'm not complaining about anyone's pessimism, just trying to explain why I cannot go that way. It's just impossible to live in this country if you're a pessimist. What others do or see is their business and no, I don't see you personally as a pessimist As for sitting under that eucalyptus tree. That would be a great thing. Let me know when you're around and I'll start cooling the drinks
  4. Believe me Botz, these possibilities are very apparent. In 1967 during the 6-day-war my village was shelled by the Syrians. I had a 120 mm mortar shell land and explode 50 cm away from me!! Don't ask me why I had not a scratch from this episode apart from flying through the air with a whole pile of stones and earth everywhere. That was a miracle in itself. But just in case I was thinking that there is nothing to these shells, during a service period in Lebanon (before we got out of there) I was a medic/ambulance driver and had the "pleasure" of picking up my commanding officer in plastic bags. The biggest part was a boot with the leg up to the knee in it. These pictures get etched in the memory and I know today what is in wait for me if we are overrun by our friendly neighbors. Now with all this in mind I can either take it as lightly as possible with a lot of (sick) humor or just lose my mind. As far as I know, I haven't lost my mind yet, so the other option is working to keep me sane. People living in this country know from first hand what the possibilities are. If we are still around it's because deep down inside I guess we still have some of that faith God wants of us. It is just a matter of rubbing off a thick layer of rust. I can't make it any clearer than this and I don't wish anyone to have the experience it takes to understand Sorry for this out pour, but I can't let the pessimistic view rule in my life
  5. Don't want to pour water over the enthusiasm with all the ways we can die The sun is shining, it is spring and the weather is just amazing What a gift from the great architect!! Would he allow all this to burn up? But hey! While we are all waiting impatiently for doomsday, why don't we enjoy what we DO have?
  6. Oh,oh.... your Aussi accent is showing Well, I did say AT LEAST
  7. Shalom Bible2, The odds of you being correct in your view of things are at least 50% and arguments won't change anything. Just stating that I have no argument with you, just seeing things in a somewhat different way But to the point, from my experience with our neighbors is that they are not western thinkers. Look at their culture, their way of life, their regard to western systems such as democracy, their view of study and research, their conduct with family life, the place women take in the family, the way pride controls so much in life, their laws and the way they implicate them and so on and so on...... I am not saying we are better! I am saying we are different. Just take democracy. The west regards it as an ultimate way of life while most Arab states regard democracy as something to be used as needed and many times it is for undermining democracy itself. Unity has never been a strong point. There have always been struggles in every which way you turn We here in Israel laugh at ourselves saying that where there are two Israelis, there are at least two opinions! The Arab world is even more so in this sense, so much so that seeing some kind of world wide national Arab empire is, to my mind , pretty far fetched But, like I said, you may be right.... time will tell
  8. Well Bible2 There is much logic in your posts. But there are other logical possibilities too. The Arab world is far from united. The Arab world are split into several ways of thinking. Just take the Shiates and the Sunis for example Several years ago Iraq and Iran went to war the ended in several million dead. Anywhere you look today you see disagreements in the Arab world. In fact what we see now is more like the stirring up of people as in the Babylon tower, rather than any group getting together with other groups. What are known as Palestinians are refugees of a war that 7 Arab countries promised to win for them. No Arab country has done anything for these refugees! They keep them in their state of living as pawns in the "Hate Israel" game. The so called Muslim brotherhood don't give one bit of a tear for any Palestinian. The Arab world is so engrossed in hatred that Israel is not enough for them any more. They kill their own without butting an eyelid. I can't see any unity in the Arab world As for Israel, yes, we have a good army but that is not what is keeping us here, at least not deep beneath it all. If we have a good army it is because God wants it that way. Our mistake is in thinking it is something we have achieved in our own strength. This is where God allows us to get beaten up every now and then, just enough to get us to realize who is really our strength Unfortunately we are hard learning and need several knocks over the head to wake up. No, I don't see the world ending this way. It will be in a much more glorifying way. Glorifying God, that is! More than that, many of these hate filled people will turn around and see the light Call me naive. I trust God to stand by His promises
  9. I wouldn't worry. We will not be using them. No need God didn't create the human race to make it extinct I trust He has better ways of turning mankind around I believe as you do, hupo, that God will never allow Israel's enemies victory. I continue to pray for your country along with many thousands of other Americans. I would like to sharpen this point. Yes, Israel is a big part of it but God can and probably will, turn many of today's enemies, around too That is a bigger victory than any bomb can achieve
  10. I wouldn't worry. We will not be using them. No need God didn't create the human race to make it extinct I trust He has better ways of turning mankind around
  11. Hi there Botz, I value your opinion and anasysis of the mid east conflict, yet it is based on logic, very sound logic I must admit, but is not everything God has to provide If you recall 1948 was a miracle in itself. We were "supposed" to have been wiped out. We weren't! That was a miracle 1967 we were strangled by Abdul Nasser and came out with a miraculous victory 1973, we were so cocky we nearly got wiped out. We didn't. Another miracle I won't even bother with history, Hitler, Stalin, Spanish Inquizision, Babylonians, Romans, and Greek empires.... As for today, I don't think the media have it right at all and if they do they are not letting it out. The Arab world is so engrossed in hating each other. Israel is the only thing that holds them together with a common focal point for their hatred. Islam is the name of the game. Satan's weapon of mass destruction! Lets face it. There are more Palestinians killed by their "so called brothers" than we have ever done! Look at the countries around us. Look how easily they kill their own citizens. There is something going on all right. Something is already giving but we are looking in the wrong direction. Do you believe God will let satan take over? I doubt it The world is slow to wake up but it will, maybe with aches and pains but it will wake up and see extreme Islam for what it is. Yes we could be blasted heavily from all sides. It is not new. Remember whatever they have, we have much more. I don't think this is what is going to win or lose the war. There are higher powers at work and as you mentioned, we need to recognize and acknowledge these powers I'm sitting 15 km away from the Lebanese border where 1000's of rockets are pointed at us. Somehow I don't feel this is going to be the .... something...that is going to give. I don't know why. Maybe a naive denial of what seems to be the Inevitable. But, that's just my feeling, with no facts to back it up, while the facts are unfolding out there and time will tell....
  12. Not Netanyahu. More like the new commander in chief of the IDF, Benny Gantz Really? I've not heard of him before but I will check him out. I like to keep up with what goes on in Israel. Netanyahu is not very decisive. He can't be, with the right wingers breathing down his neck and Obama twisting his arm
  13. Not Netanyahu. More like the new commander in chief of the IDF, Benny Gantz
  14. Funny you mention this bit of news just now... There is a group of Canadians on visit in Israel. They will be coming to my village (kibbutz) in Northern Galilee in less than an hour. Their guide has asked me to explain our situation in the country thru the eyes of one settlement. I have nothing to do with this project you mention but I am very happy to hear about it. We are pretty bad at presenting our case to the world so every little bit helps A picture is worth a thousand words and when people see where we are situated with regards our neighbors, things look a bit different than the world media portrays
  15. First we need to believe it is possible, which means believing God can save ANYONE! We do believe that, don't we? I don't know how. The "How" belongs to God. We can but trust the HE knows the "How"
  16. I'm not the Arabs attorney but lets not push them into one big mass of evil There are Muslims who can see the evil in fundamental Islam and they say so, not enough, true but at least there are sane voices Lets not forget Muslims are God's creation too I would rather see them saved than nuked! I would rather sit over a plate of humus with Achmedinijad than bomb him
  17. True, yet consider a less pessimistic view.... Syria leaders are Alawis, Majority non-leading are Sunis. Hisbollah and Iran are Shiates. Sunis and Shiates are not exactly the "brothers" they would like us to think. If Sunis take over in Syria, the neat thread, Iran-Syria-Hizbollah will not be too stable. Russia are worried as to their front stronghold in Latakia, if Radical Muslims take over. Russia will lose their only solid base in the mid-east..... Just thinking out aloud..... but hey, why be pessimistic about it all?
  18. Unbelievable !!! Things actually work sometimes Check this out!!
  19. Welcome back to the "peace talks" with our friendly neighbors All we are waiting for now is a condemnation by the UN for wasting good explosives
  20. Come on now, you guys This has nothing to do with facts. It is purely a hateful persons agenda, connected or not to some hateful group The truth has nothing to do with what these people say Anyone who has aminimal amount of honesty can see the facts everywhere, some still alive today I'm not shocked at this happening. I am not even shocked anymore that human beings can be so hateful There is an evil force on our planet and I think we know who/what that is I pray for this Norwegian "law maker" who is a captive of this evil spirit He too can be set free The battle belongs to the Lord !!
  21. In a forum I attend there is a debate as to the negative (or positive, depending on one's stand) of the concept of "political correct" conduct whether in speech or deed. Political correct speech can be, and mostly does, stop us from hearing the truth in many situations Being apologetic in politics is usually based on some agenda and not from any kind of truth. In our case I would say it is based on fear of what the nations will say I must add that there are positive things about political correct speech and in fact I was mostly supportive of it, in that other forum. Referring to other aspects of it of course
  22. The settlement ITAMAR has been in the news several times due to terrorist attacks A daughter of our kibbutz who married and lived there for several years was herself attacked by a terrorist who sneaked into their home and was about to knife them. She heard him and started fighting back until her husband woke up and together they managed to over come him and kill him. In the latest attack this family weren't so fortunate. Regardless of one's political views their is no excuse in the world that would justify killing children and babies!!
  23. Have you ever seen an ant push an elephant?? :24: But he is serious, isn't he? I should thank Louis Farrakhan for the compliment, even if it does sound totally nuts!
  24. I don't understand something. If Abbas sees the land issue as "direct negotiations rather than third-party forums like the U.N" Why do they demand we stop building before any negotiations. After all this is part of the conflict to be discussed, no? Come on bro....you don't expect Abbas to make sense surely? Right! What on earth was I thinking about?!
