  1. Hey yo man I know how you feel. I am going through the same thing sort of..I have only a couple friends my age and a lot of friends older than me but the friends that are my age I can't trust 100% and they don't always act truthful..so sometiems I get lonely. But I think that family can be the greatest friends in your life sometimes...no matter what the relation is. Mother, father, grandparent, cousin, aunt, whatever. I have a cousin who is much older than me but we are great friends and I've only known her a couple years. But anyways pray about it and God will lead you to some people.
  2. Okay well basically my name is Josh and I'm 17 and I have a problem with repenting..every time I ask God forgiveness for a sin I go and do it again intentionally...it's like I can't stop "liking" sin..I can't make myself hate it. Now I know that some of you have been reading my posts and know that I've had problems like this before..this time it's different. I mean, I can't turn away from sin no matter how hard I try. This might seem ridiculous but I think it's a big problem with me. I swear a lot and I think it's fun and I know I should turn from it and I've tried but I can't! I've asked God for help and read the Bible but none of that really killed my sinful desires....sorry if I sound annoying about this. I'm posting this on all the Christian message boards I know of so I can get help. I really do want to go to Heaven but it's really hard for me to live the Christian lifestyle. I don't know what's wrong with me but I've just noticed this a few days ago and I don't know what to do. I guess Satan really has me screwed up, I dunno. If you can help me, please try.
  3. Personally, I've never been to Church in my life because it isn't really that important to me yet, and I find bible reading and prayer much more important. Besides, Church isn't going to a building, it is spending time with God...you could really be "going to Church" so to speak by just reading the Bible and meditating on it. But sometimes we do not have time to do this once in a rare while, but we should try to whenever we can.
  4. Yes, we all get in spiritual slumps once in awhile..I go through them every couple months..but the important thing I think is to keep praying and read your bible and try to obey God whenever you think he wants you to do something. Just don't give up and keep trying to be the person God wants you to be!
  5. Okay sooooooo I was thinking a few minutes ago and I thought of a question and heeeeere it is.... Say there's this one dude, let's call him Johnny,he becomes a Christian and believes everything about Jesus and makes Him Lord & Saviour of His life and yadda yadda, but never reads the Bible or prays or goes to Church or youth group or anything but he repents of his sin and still loves God in his heart and obeys Him his whole life...fifty years later he dies in a car accident...does he go to Heaven? I think he does, because salvation is free, and you can't lose it unless you walk away yourself and backstab God...but Johnny never did that, he still loves God and obeys Him he just doesn't do any Christian things that most Christians do, but he's not stuck in a sinful lifestyle. That's my opinion. What do ya'll think?!
  6. Hey buddy..things will be okay..just keep praying to God to help you control those desires you have and spend time with Him..and like some other people have said here, have someone to keep you accountable and watch you. God's with ya and he'll help you through this. Take me, for example, I have a horrible problem with swearing, I don't do it online, just when I'm by myself..I know it might not be considered extremely bad but whenever we have a habit we got to keep trying to kick it and pray to God. Hope this helps.
  7. Yeah, you guys helped me out a little, thanks a lot, you guys rock.
  8. How do you know when God wants you to do something specific right away? For example, if He wants you to talk to a certain person about something, or go to a certain place, or start/stop a certain action, how does he let you know? Does He tell you audibly in a loud voice or is there something you need to do to find out? I've tried praying and listening but I never hear anything inside me. I have been wondering about this a lot for some reason the last couple of days. I'd just like to know what you guys think. Peace out, Josh
  9. Yo check this list out...... Eminem D12 50 Cent G-Unit Tupac Shakur Jay-Z P. Diddy Obie Trice Snoop Dogg Yes, obviously I'm a rap fan, so no insults please. It's just my personal preference.
  10. Hello I am just wondering how long do you guys spend time in prayer and what are some important things to say in prayer? I usually spend at least 3 or 4 min praying and I just ask forgiveness and ask for some things then I thank him for everything...just wondering what u guys think..thanks
  11. *TAKES DEEP BREATHE* Hey I am going through the same thing I mean I actually have no idea what God wants me to do and I became a Christian a year ago and I've been praying and reading my Bible and millions of things but nothing nothing nothing works, I wish God would just plainly tell me "Josh you should start doing this this and this and stop doing this this and this" instead of leaving me trying to decipher it from the Bible when it is nearly impossible for me to figure out what the Bible is trying to tell me I am not a good interpreter. I also have bad habits and God doesn't help me with them no matter how many times I pray and have faith and wait you know what I also think that being a Christian is way too hard for some people, in order to become successful Christians according to the Bible we have to....... Go to Church or be with other Christians Pray and read the Bible..not when we want...but every DAY many times and understand every single word of it you can and practice it! Share Christianity to everyone Be baptised Do his will and obey Him when the Bible never clearly tells us what it is!! Stay away from secular music TV movies and media otherwise it'll brainwash you and make you go crazy and sin a whole bunch Be nice to everyone, even people we hate! Now I'm not trying to diss Christianity but these requirements are too much! How can God expect us to do all this when we got other things to do too?! I'm only 17 and I don't have time to do all this stuff and if we dont do all this stuff we wont be the best Christian that we can possibly be and thats just not fair why do we gotta do all this stuff SOME CHRISTIANS do not have the ability or access to these things...get my point? Being a Christian is just too hard for some people including me. But I'm still gonna be a Christian anyway since I want to be with God when I die. Forgive me for complaining, I'm just overwhelmed sometimes. Religion drives me nuts like this sometimes. So you are not the only one with struggles. I know what u are going through and I know it sucks but just hang in there somehow I dunno keep prayin I guess I'm not an expert at this kinda thing. Any way if any of you mods or people have any advice for us please share it! thanx!! *Exhales, screams, and goes to bed exhausted.*
  12. Yo I watch this show all the time and I don't se anythin` wrong with it. I'm 17 and I've been watching this show for like three years. They're just trying to entertain people and get a few laughs. Yeah there's some swearing and stuff but it's all tongue-in-cheek and just playin` around, not really serious. Now I don't know where you got this gay wedding episode thing and I don't really think it's that great of an idea but I think we should all just check it out and make our conclusions AFTER we've seen it. Remember, it's just a cartoon! Why turn our backs on something that's just got one or two lil imperfections?
  13. Swearing...whoa I got a prob with it...and even the littlest thing can make me flip out...for example one time I was golfing and I accidentally hit myself in the leg with tha club and it hurt so bad I swore like six times in a row thank goodness no one was around to hear me...lol.
  14. Hey, if you got a PS2, try Grand Theft Auto: Vice City...great Christian game...it got an A+ by a Christian Game Reviewer...Billy Graham plays it all the time! He loves it!
  15. Okay, so what do we do when we think that we've become a backslider? How do we go back to be a good christian or whatever? Sorry if these questions seem too easy, I just think I might be a backslider and I have questions. Thanks!
  16. You want to obey God? But you don't go to a place that teaches you how and helps you to do it? I don't understand... Church doesn't tell how how to obey God, the Bible does!
  17. Okay the reason I ask this is because Jesus said that we should repent AND be baptized...so if we ask Jesus into our lives and repent but not be baptized will we go to Hell? Just wondering.
  18. True wisdom would be obedience from the heart. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves Me, he will keep My Word. And My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. John 14:24 He who does not love Me does not keep My Words, and the Word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me. 1John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth. Hos 11:7 And my people are bent on backsliding from me: though they call them to him that is on high, none at all will exalt him. Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways; And a good man shall be satisfied from himself. I agree with what you said, and you gave good scriptures and response. True wisdom does come from obedience from the heart, but when I said that I swear a lot and stuff I do most of it accidentally. I don't think swearing really makes you a backslider if it's not on purpose, of course, that means we shouldn't do it whenever we feel like it, but even if we do, God won't cast us out of Heaven, since we're never perfect. He's very forgiving, thats's all I'm trying to say.
  19. I don't think it is a sin if you do not go to church, frankly to be honest I have never been to Church in my life since I am so busy. I don't think God is going to cast me out of Heaven because of it. Not everyone can go to a church, sadly. I even have a bad case of swearing a lot and I do some things that most Christians wouldn't, but I still love God and want to obey Him, so I don't think I am a backslider. I think the only thing that can make you a backslider is if you totally turn against God after you become a Christian, become hostile, never read the Bible, never pray or ask forgiveness, or care about controlling sinful actions (sinning continually, not just a few times). Am I somewhat wise in believing this?
  20. I think the NIV is the best beginner-bible. It has modern english in it and is easier to understand for me. I don't like the King James because of all the "thee's" and "thou's"and all the old english language. I think the NIV is also the most popular Bible. I read have a New American Standard version Bible which I read once in awhile. Sometimes I even read the Bible online. I use the NLT translation on online Bibles. It's even more easier to understand than the NIV sometimes, IMO. Josh
  21. Hello Annabelle, can I call you Ann? If you ask me, I believe that if you ask Jesus into your life and make him Lord and savior of your life, repent truthfully and obey God and make him the most important thing in your life and love him always, you don't have to be afraid of not getting into heaven. Ofcourse, you will have struggles but God will help you through them. Ask God to help you assure yourself of your salvation. Also, read the book of 1 John sometime. Hope this helps. God bless, Josh
  22. Hello mtmom, I understand what you are going through, and I have been through something kind of the same. Even though I'm only 17 maybe I can help. a couple years ago I was in 8th grade and I had zero friends and I became extremely depressed. I didn't smile or talk much. I thought no one liked me and I thought I was a loser but then I learned that God loves me and that His love is worth more than a human's. I struggled with doubt and confusion but then I spend time in God's word and prayed and it all became clear to me. I believed that friends were more important than God, I learned that it was wrong and all of a sudden it didn't matter how many friends I had because God was the best friend and the only friend I really needed. Whenever someone made fun of me or said something that hurt me I prayed to God to help them and I prayed to God to help me stay positive and I think it actually worked. So just keep praying to God to help you through life's struggles. He won't make your life struggle free of course but he will help you through all the tough times. Hope this inspires you somehow and helps. In Jesus name, Josh
