  1. Islam - the war machine, breeds terrorists.
  2. Oh, it happens to some that are "in that bondage", it just usually doesn't happen very long. From what extremes did God save you? HE either has power or HE does not. We either let HIM have power over our life, or we do not. Therefore, it depends on the power of God in this life, whether or not she will endure.
  3. A sign of the times. Watch and be ready for our redemption is drawing near.

Wrong. What you're saying is that one sin is better than another. All sin is sin that will keep us out of Heaven. If polygamy were not a sin, neither would polyandry be a sin. Jesus came here and set straight the wicked traditions of men and shed light on the unbalanced scales so that we would see God's standards and correct the scales accordingly. This lightened the loads of some(example:women) and made heavier the loads of others(example:men), but the scales, if obeyed, are balanced. Men must not have liked the way Jesus reset the rules accurately because they keep trying to go back to the old laws that gave them as many women as their hearts desired. Sure I would agree that no one sin is any better than any other. However there is not clear scriptural evidence that Polygamy is a sin; including anything from the teachings of Christ. Polyandry was a sin and called out as one, witness the conversation Jesus had with the women who had several men, in addition His discussion on marriage, and Paul's discussion on divorce. We know that polygamy was practiced during the time of Jesus; in fact it was common enough that when speaking of the requirements for a Bishop, scripture specifically says that he should be the husband of only one wife. The reason it is a sin is that it is illegal, not because of anything specifically in scripture. Now personally I think that Christ did intend for one man and one woman to be together in marriage, and we can point to His discussion in this area of marriage where He does indeed seem to be speaking about one man and one woman alone in marriage. But the fact is it is not clear. Some things we have to use a little wisdom about ourselves. If you look a where polygamy is successfully practiced and it is successfully practiced, you have one older wife who serves as the leader of the household and mentor to the younger women. The man usually spends most of his time and counsel with this women. I think it could be successful. Unfortunately the way it has been practiced in the US by the Mormon fundamentalists it is simply child abuse and child rape, where the

  6. Here is something to consider. Also, never forget that muslims are permitted to lie. It's called takeyya. Google takeyya and find out how it works. 7. Are you saying Jesus saves us in sin or from sin?
  8. I don't think they damage the faith. This is a wicked attempt to get the believer to question his faith. Personally, I look at the creation story a bit differently. When it says 'in the beginning', we don't know whose becginning. And looking at the world described as dark and filled with water, also suggest we don't know whose beginning. We look at it and it says it was dark and waters covered the face of the deep and then God said 'let there be light'. Right after that, I'm willing to wait for HIM to open all mysteries and we will understand it all at last. In the meantime, we have better things to do then to try and prove creation and Creator God. It will never happen, because it would collapse HIS house built on faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).
  9. We do, always, represent Jesus and must ask ourselves, always, what would HE do if HE were in this position. If the end justifies the means in one instance, does it not do the same in all others? Hmmmm....see, my brain is cramping again. You're right, of course, we are supposed to represent Jesus. And yes, my stomach twisted over the method chosen....but - What WOULD Jesus do - if He were walking the earth in His ministry for the very first time, today - in the here and now. What tools would He use in this age of technology? We are not only called to fellowship with our own kind, so to speak - we are still called to witness to everyone. Jesus witnessed to the prostitutes and the tax collectors, and he was judged very harshly for it then. Could this not be viewed in the same light? Again, it doesn't sit uber-naturally for me either...but, it's out there now and it seems the least I can do is pray that many people will have seeds planted/watered/come to Christ. As mentioned before, this is not a site aimed at believers. How bad would it tick satan off that one of his most powerful tools is being used against him! C. By tools, do you mean deception? If HE were here today, regardless of how much knowledge has increased and men run to and fro, HIS morality applies for all throughout time. Not one jot or tittle will pass from it. We are to abstain from worldly practices, for it is enmity against God. In other words, HE will give us the ways and means to do it HIS way. I'm answering both you and SP here, because I'm new to WB and haven't quite figured out how to do multiple quotes yet. It's clear that you don't agree with this tactic. Aside from that, what suggestions do you have for reaching this particular group? Assuming that the large portion of these folks are not believers - or even people who care on whit about God currently. I'm guessing most are so far into their lifestyle that searching for God is the furthest thing from their minds - how do we reach them? I really liked dougmando's reply. The "accountability" program sounds like a great tool for those wanting to break free of the bondage. What could the developers do to make this site more acceptable to Christians not needing help in this area? C. The term 'Christian porn site' sets my teeth on edge. It is a slur against the holy name and purpose and sacrifice of our Saviour. Therefore, a clever mind moved by the HOLY SPIRIT, will come up with something reflecting the intent. "Christ can help the porn addict'. Or, 'porn addicts helped by Christ'. Addiction is a difficult problem to address by people without the criteria to help. A referral system should be in place, to receive authentic counseling, etc. And then there is the little thingiie called "I want help". And that other little thingie called "Are we really after the porn-addicted Christian and is there such a thingie".

  11. Hmm. We've had lots of threads like this. I think the take-home message is: Gods hates the sin, not the sinner. God's smiting Sodom and Gomorrah could be seen as a favor, since it precluded further damning sins by those people. He saved them from themselves, so to speak. If HE loves the sinner, would there be hell-fire?
  12. Awesome answers! NOTHING separates us from God's love. However, SIN separates us from His presence. Homosexuals ARE loved by God, therefore they should be loved by Christians. God loves the person not the sin, therefore we should do the same. As far as God having no emotions! What? . . . I posted this in another thread, but I post it again in this one . . . John 11:35, "Jesus wept." Emotion-less beings do NOT weep. Jesus was fully man and fully God, so to say God has no emotion is to say that Jesus doesn't either. If God has no emotion He would NEVER have sent Jesus (His only begotten Son) to give His life for us. And, if Jesus has no emotion He would NEVER have voluntarily given His life to save any of us sinful creatures. Consider another view: I want to ask you this question: Christians are called to

  14. We can respond to him by not giving him our vote. I won't. Because they are permitted to lie, (Takeyya), I will never trust a muslim. Obama is well within muslim rights to say one thing and mean another, to say he is Christian when he is really something else. Quote: However, unlike most religions, within Islam there are certain provisions under which lying is not simply tolerated, but actually encouraged. The book "The spirit of Islam," by the Muslim scholar, Afif A. Tabbarah was written to promote Islam. On page 247, Tabbarah stated: "Lying is not always bad, to be sure; there are times when telling a lie is more profitable and better for the general welfare, and for the settlement of conciliation among people, than telling the truth. To this effect, the Prophet says: 'He is not a false person who (through lies) settles conciliation among people, supports good or says what is good." http://www.islamreview.com/articles/lying.shtml End quote:
  15. I agree with you. Love is expressed in different ways. This requires thought and thought proceeds from the mind where reason lives. Come let us reason together, says our LORD. We do so because we love HIM, HE does so because HE loves us.
