  1. I think the worst part of this whole thing is the fact that Gods word has been bent and twisted to server some one else evil agenda. I pray that God will reach in to there hearts and set them straight. I feel bad for the family of the Soldier who had to endure treatment of that sort. on a side not if you try and go to Westboro website, you'll find it has been taken down. I'm guessing they were getting so much email and what not and responces that they decided to take there site down.
  2. No where in new testment does Christ declair what day we are to up hold the Sabbath, in fact he him self points out that he is Lord of the Sabbath. Wheather you choose to obey the Sabbath on Saturday or on Sunday isn't what matters, what matters is that you uphold the Sabbath, this means take a day out and gathering in Fellowship and Worshiping God. I'm Sorry Systemstrike you are making the Same mistake the Pharasees made, your looking at the letter of the Law and not the int of the Law, the reason we honor the Sabbath is to rest in the Lord, to Worship him and togather with other followers. If you choose to do this on Saturday vs Sunday that is your choice, I don't think its wrong either way. I want to leave with one thaught and I will get more in to it tomorrow because I have to run to work. If the Torah is correct and every one else is wrong then then Heaven is gone be a very empty place. I my self can't read the Torah, and I don't have any real reason to learn how. I'm not the only one in this boat. Now do you honestly think that God would be that short sitted not to realize that there would be Gentiles that could not read the Torah. I think not, I think there are different ways to honor God, different Traditions that people uphold, however at the core of all those belief should all be the same, the Teachings of Christ. In short the message that is in Torah is also found with in Christan Bible, both groups of people follow or are supposed to follow his teachings. Everything else is Tradition and a way of Honor God, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't conterdict what Christ Taught use, there is nothing wrong with it as long as you understand that the only way to get in to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, for his death and Ressurectiong, that are sins are forgiven not by are actions but by the blood of Christ. That is what I believe. System your trying to prove that the Torah is right and Christanity is wrong, that we should convert over to the Torah, and what your not getting is both are right because at the heart both have the same message.
  3. I used to love Holloween but as I came to know the Lord I suddenly find my self repulsed by it. I don't find anything positive about Holloween. As Christan I am not supposed to worship or do anything that honors demonic forces. As Christan I am not supposed to enjoy watching people suffering (even if it is pretened). More to the point is there are demonic forces at work in this world, Holloween is day were Satan can push people far away from God, on Holloween he is Laughing the human race because we are doing exacly what he wants use to do. I choose to love Christ, I will not be a servent of the Devil. I will not do anything that honors or worships him. I will praise God and put him first and foremost. I flat out refuse to even acknowledge Holloween. I know many of you may not agree and that is your right. Keep mind though that the Devil use many things to trick you, to lead you away from Christ. Celebrating Holloween may seem like no big deal, but in reality it goes against everything Christ taught, it is a pagan Holiday, and more to the point it pays homage to demonic forces. So keep that in mind. I pray that Christ will speak to you and show you the truth of Holloween. However if you do go out please be safe.
  4. This is true but it wasn't untill after his Ressurection that they truely fully realized what he was sent here to do. When they saw him alive and well he commanded them to go forward and to continue were he left off, to make disciples of men. However at the time, the Jewish people had preconsived notions of what Christ was sent here to do. They really though he would become King of Iseral and run the Romans out. When he was captured they realized this wasn't going to happen, and it is part of the reason they mocked him. Even his own Disciples ran out on him as he said they would do. Once he was dead and Ressurected they fully understand what he had been trying to tell them before his death. Even after his Ressurection they didn't believe that it was him, till they saw the holes in his wrist and his feet, then they completely understood, that he was there to save them from there sins, that his Kingdom was in Heaven not on Earth. The Gentiles didn't destroy his Ministry, no one can destroy his Ministry. His words are true today as they were 2 thousand years ago. Just because some people take his teachings and distort it or change it to fit there own purpose doesn't make his teachings less true. I follow Christ Teachings pure simple, I read and learn what he has to say. Anything that conterdicts his teachings I ignore. Here is the thing my friend, your moving God from the picture. Your saying that the Christan Bible is incorrect because you can show evidence that points to that. Well what you don't get is that the samething can be said about the Torah. I'm sure there many intellagent people in the world that can point out the flaws in Torah and have evidence to back it up, but does this prove that the Torah is incorrect, no. Do you want to know why, because if you remove God from the picture then Torah was writen by man, and there fore it is incorrect, but you don't believe that. You can't prove that the Torah is correct, you can only have faith that the Torah is correct. Archaeologist have spent years trying to dispprove the Christan Bible, and yet they have not been able to find a shred of proof the discredits the bible. Every single bit of Evidence of historical events that have been uncovered in those times matches up with what the bible says, thus proving its credibility. You can denie it and kick and scream but it is simple truth. Understand I don't say the Torah is incorrect and that Christanity is correct. I don't know much about the Torah, only certain things. I know that the Messages of Christ are the same, I know that both Teach Christ was the Messiah, both Teach that Christ is Lord and Savior, that we can only get to Heaven through him. As far as I know any way. So then how do we know what to follow? Well its simple, you follow the Teachings of Christ. Christ him self was asked what is the most important Law and he responded by saying "'Love the Lord Your God with All Your Heart and with All your Soul and with all your Mind' this is the first and greatest commandment. And the Second is like it: 'Love your Neighbor as your self'. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. That is everything he taught in a nut shell. Now granted there are more details of course to his teachings but if you obey those two commandments completely then your more then likely going to obey all the rest, this does not mean we don't have to learn the other commandments because we do. However both the Torah and Christan Bible teach those commandments, now any teachings or whatever that conterdict those commandments, is not from Christ and there fore should be Ignored. Which Bible are you reading, cause this not in the Christan Bible at all. I have never seen anything in the bible that leads me to believe any thing in regards to your statement. I don't know how to respond to this other then to say that your making the same mistake that Pharasees made. The Pharasees were so intent on obeying the letter of the law that they forgot about the intent of the law. So the letter of the Law here is were to honor the Sabbath day, but what is the intent in the Law. Well it is a time for people to come together and worship God, to take a day of rest, it is a day to learn about the Lord and to find strength and encourgement from other believers. Becareful of trying to follow the letter of the law that you miss the intent of the Law. I personally don't think Christ would have a problem with people honor the Sabbath on Sunday as opposed to Saturday. I think as long as there honoring it is what matters in the long run. Don't get me wrong I have no problems with people who Honor the Sabbath on Saturday instead of Sunday. I think the reason Christan choose to honor the Sabbath on Sunday instead of Saturday is because in it we honor his death and Ressurection year round. Remember Christ was Cruxsified on Friday and was ressurected on Sunday. I think that is the reason it has been changed from Saturday to Sunday. Also go out and try and find a Christan Church that meets on Saturday, so are choices are bit limited. hehe
  5. Is God the author of Evil? The answer to this is yes and no. To understand this you have to first realize that God is a perfect God, He is a Good God, there is no evil in him, he is beyond it grasp. Now he is the creator of all and there fore anything he creats is Subject to his laws, and code of morality. Anything that goes against God is Evil, for everything is his creation, there for Subject to his laws. In short everything from use to Satan and his minions, to the very angels were created by God, and there fore we are subject to his laws. Anything or any one who disobeys those Laws have disobeyed God and are Evil. Now God gave the Angels free well, Satan and his followers turned against God, thus making them Evil. Adam and Eve ate from the Tree that God had told them not to eat from thus making them evil because we disobeyed God. God is not evil, he is good pure simple. The only thing that is evil is anything that goes against God, pure simple. Now that is my belief on Subject.
  6. I never said they didn't spread his message, I said that at the time the Jews misunderstood what Christ came here to do. They though he was to become King of Iseral and drive the Romes out. However this is not what he came to do, and it wasn't untill after he died and was raised that the full implications of what he had been sent here to do were suddenly realized. I never said the Jews didn't spread his word, only that the reason his ministery focused on the Jews over the Gentiles was because God wanted the Jews to spread the Word of God. This is true and it still that way to this day. There christans that take the word of God and focus so much on hell in the hopes of driving a sense of Fear in to the hearts of Non Believers. However if one reads the Bible Christ didn't use fear of hell to convert people, he talked about hell and said that this is were people would go if they didn't repent there sins and turn back to God, but he didn't beat them over the head with it. However the bible has not changed at all sense it was first writen, the books are as close to there original text as your going to get. The original Text started off in Hebrew, then to greek and finally to english. When the text were being translated in to the various formates God made sure the Translation was done right. Now how do we know this, well look at the christan bible, it is the most published book in the world, out selling even the Torah. Its has survived Kings, Queens, Dictators who have tried to stamp out the bible and yet it still survives to this day, to me the only way that could happen is by the Hand of God him self. The Catholic Church is the only religieous group out there that has raised Mary to almost a Divinity in to it self, and I agree with you this is wrong. Yes Mary was a Virgin when she gave birth to Christ, but she was no different then you or I. I have never agree with the Catholic church on the perspective of Mary, I have always felt they put to much focus on Mary and the saints and not enough on christ. However I will also admit that my knowledge of the Catholic Church is limited. Yes your right there festivals that have mengled with pegan religeons, Christmas would be a good example of this. Should Christans Celebrate Christmas, well I don't see anything wrong with it as long as they understand and keep the Focus on Christ and his Birth, anything else that conflicts with Christ teachings should be removed, such as Miseltoes. Somethings like Santa Clause are in my opinion harmless fun because the very idea of Santa Clause is very much in line with Teachings of Christ, giving to one another with no thought of anything in return, loving one another, peace and joy...are these not the very things Christ taught. We should keep the mean of Christmas in are hearts every day. I see no problem with Christans Celebrating it. Jewish people Celebrate the Birth of Christ in there own way as well. We won't get in to Easter cause I have never understood the whole Rabbit deal in regards to Ressurection of Christ. I can't speak for every Christan out there, but can speak for my self. I work as a Security Guard and though right now I have saturdays and Sundays off but there will come a time when I won't have Sunday off. Which means I will have to work. Now I can fit going to Church and worshiping God in on Sunday. However I will still have to go to work, so am I breaking the Sabbath, the answer to that is no. In bible Christ and his Disciples were picking wheat from a field so that they can eat. When Pharasees saw this they question Christ why they were doing what was unlawful on Sabbath. This is how Christ Responds back. "Haven't you read what David did when he and his Companions were Hungry? He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread - which was not lawful for them to do, Or haven't you read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the and yet are innocent? I tell you that one greater then the Temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath. Now what this tells me is many things, we are supposed to help are fellow man, were supposed to show kindness, mercy, love, were supposed to feed the poor, cloth them, were supposed to heal the sick and the wounded both of the mind and of the body but most importantly of the soul. It also means something else that we can work in order to feed are selves. Now days things are different, we work to make money to provided for our selves, so we can eat, cloth and to put a roof over are heads. Now If I have to go in to work on a Sunday I can still honor the Sabbath by going to church, by working am still honor the Sabbath because I am working to provided food for my self. Remember what Christ said, "I desire Mercy, Not Sacrifice". Now the point am making is that costumes may differ from one christan belief to another, but at the heart of all those beliefs the Teachings of Christ are same. Christ didn't say the Torah is right or make claims that one practice was more true then the other because it didn't matter. His teaching apply to every one, to Jews and Gentiles alike. Christans follow Christ Teachings, maybe we don't follow the Cermonal acts that Jewish people follow but we do follow his teachings, and that is what is important. People spend so much time debating that Torah is right or that Catholism is right or Christanity is right that they all ready disobeying Christ teachings. Christ gave one message and one message only. They apply for every one, Jews and Gentiles alike. Instead of focusing on the differences you should be focusing on what Christ taught, you said it your self Christ taught love and compassion which is the same the Christan bible, and is the very heart of everything he taught. I hope that clears up some things.
  7. Jesus came her to teach all that would listen, but as pointed out his focus was on the Jewish Community, and I'll explain why. The Jews have always been Gods Choosen people. Christ was focusing on the Jewish people because they were the ones that were supposed to spread christ message of hope and salvation after his death. The problem was that at the time the Jews though he had been sent to basically become King and to push the Romes back out of Iseral. They didn't understand at the time that his Kingdom was not an earthly Kingdom but a Heavenly Kingdom. This is why the Jews during the passover were shouting for Joy and what not, because they though he was about to be King, but then a few days later he was captured and hung on the cross, and at this point the people realize that Jesus wasn't going to be King, and thus the mocked him. Jesus help Gentiles and Jewish people alike, there many passages in bible of him helping Gentiles. He wasn't Hesitant in preaching to Gentiles because his message was for every one, Jewish and Gentile alike. I am gone answer this but not in the way you want. The first thing you have to understand is Christ is Lord and Savior, you can not get in to heaven except through him, by believing in him and following his teachings. Anything that differs from Christ Teachings is a false Religeon. We are to obey the Teachings of Christ and to put are faith in him, pure and simple. If you do anything that differs from what Christ has taught then you are disobeying God. Christ didn't disagree with a lot of the laws of the Pharesees, what he disagreed with was two things. The first is how the Pharesees would say one thing and do another, they weren't practicing what they teach. The second was that they either were take the laws of God (10 commandments) and following them to the letter of the law, and what they didn't understand was that in following them to the letter they were also disobeying them, all the other laws they had built on top of that were fine and dandy except that in the process that they had forgotten that biggest thing to do was to help others, to show mercy and compassion to people, it was to love one another. Now what this means is that you have to examine what your being told, with the Word of God, or to point the Teachings of Christ, if the things your taught or what you practice conflict with the Teachings of Christ then your disobeying god. There is flat out no other way to get in to heaven except through the Blood of Jesus Christ, through are faith in him. Yet this also means we must Obey his teachings as well. It doesn't mean we won't mess up and make mistakes because we will but Christ will Forgive use if we Repent. Anything that does not go against his teachings or hinder your faith in him is ok. You have to examin the Torah (which is Jewish bible if I'm not mistaken) does it Teach that Christ is the Messiah, is he your Lord and Savior. What are his teachings and do you follow them. The basic principle of his teachings is that were to obey the 1o Commandments, not only in action but in thought as well, we also need to look at the int of those Laws. For example Adultry is a Sin, however just looking at a Women in Lust is a sin. I don't know much about the Torah, nor Catholism or much outside basic Christan denominations. However I do believe that as long as they teach the same message as what Christ taught, and that you have faith that Christ is Lord and Savoir and only through him are your sins forgiven and you will be able to go to heaven , then anything else doesn't matter, it just following different standered of practice. I hope that makes sense, im not really good with words and what not.
  8. I am gone see if I can explain this right. Christ was nither christan, nor Jewish, Christ was the Son of God, he was above such titles. You have to understand the Jews were Gods choosen people, it was them who were supposed to teach the word of God to the Gentiles. Christ went around teaching to the Jewish people about faith, about the kingdom of heaven, etc etc. While he did teach to Gentiles and healed them both physically, Spiritually, and mentally, his primary task, his main focus was on Jewish people. Read Matthew 15:21-28 Here was a gentile women who was seeking christ help, and christ tells here I was sent here to the lost sheep of Israel, now in this statment he is telling her that his primary focus was on the Jewish, now this didn't stop him from help the women. It is in this passage that we understand that God and choosen the Jewish people to continue his works after he was gone, it was Jewish people who were to take his teachings and to pass them on to the rest of the world. We and that includes both gentiles and Jewish people are no longer under the Moseic (sorry if I spelled that wrong) Law but under the laws of Christ. We are supposed to follow his teachings, he is the Messiah are Savior. We are to uphold the Christ teachings not the old laws, the old laws no longer applied. Think about this under the old law in order to ask forgiveness you had to make a sacrifice. However because christ died on the cross for are sins and rose three days later (thus defeating death) we are no longer under that law. Are sins are forgiven through repentance and are faith in Christ. (now I want to point out something before I continue on further. I have study bible that...well breaks the passages of the bible down and explains them. I just bought this bible and so I started with Matthew. I haven't gotten past the Gospels of Jesus Christ.) Now from Acts all the way through Jude it is my understand that these books go in to a lot more detail of how to follow christ, it deals with every thing from the difference between Judism and Gentiles and what not. Now as I pointed out I haven't gotten that far yet and it will be a while cause I'm taking my time with each of the books. Now you have to understand that the bible wheather it be New King James version or New International version, I actually have both NKV and NIV, these books are accurate and are the word of god.
  9. I never said that you shouldn't keep watch, I in fact state that all we can do is watch for the signs and be ready. Spinning your wheels trying to guess who the Anti-Christ is and when he will come is counter productive. He will come when he comes, and no one knows who it will be. The fact is you can read Revelations from now till cows come home and still not have any clue who the Anti-Christ is and when he will rear his ugly head up. The best thing we can do is gain strenght in the lord and be on guard. However as christans were supposed to be always on guard against the forces of darkness. When you really think about it if your a christan and the Anti-Christ rises to power then it shouldn't be a suprise, you should be ready from the sec you turned your life over to the lord and accepted christ as your lord and savior, you should have been prepairing for attacks from all different directions. It is my belief that those who take strenght in the lord will not weaver when the Anti-Christ rise because they are all ready willing to lay there life down in the name of christ, they should know the teachings of christ and have a relationship with the lord to such a point that nothing can fool them. We can not be fooled if we turn to the word of god. Revelations is meant to be a guide post to help use prepair for what is to come, we are not meant to sit around and guess. It is designed to show use what is to come and to spend are energys focusing on developing a relationship with the lord, to understanding his word so that we can protect are selves from those who would lead use astray. You could say that everything we experince is deisgned to teach use how to prepair for the Anti-Christ so that we won't be caught off guard. There is one thing I have come to believe, the end times are near. Satan is so desperate to take as many people with him as he can that he has stepped things up, it is the reason we are see wars, sexual immorality, violence in are schools, Hatred etc etc. Yet with all that is going on I truely believe this is just the beginning of the troubles that will come. I don't know when the Anti-Christ will rise to power, or who it will be, and to be honest with you I don't really care. I would rather focus on developing a relationship with the lord so that when and if I am around when the Anti-Christ rise to power that I will be ready and will stand stronge in the lord. Christ was giving a generalization of the end times, not a play by play of the end times. Revelations gives a play by play of the end times and yes in Revelations there is a rapture and all of gods children will be taken. As much as I'd like to answer when that would happen I can't recall, my revelations is a bit rusty, maybe someone here can answer it.
  10. I have lot of opinions when it comes to 9/11 however I will stick to topic at hand. Was 9/11 Prophized in the bible, I don't know. Thing about prophecys in bible is that they generally hard to break down unless they happen or there explain by god through some one and even then it doesn't make a lot of sense. A lot of prophecy in bible could be applied to many events if you tryed. Now I'm not saying that 9/11 wasn't prophized in the bible only that I am not the right person to declair that is or isn't prophized in the bible. I do however believe that 9/11 was an earth shattering day. The effects of 9/11 could be felt around the world and will be felt for years to come. I don't think the world will ever go back to the way it was before 9/11. However such is the way of the world. The one thing I want you guys to keep in mind is this. If during WW2 the people then had internet and communication powers that we have today, they would probably though the same way with peral Harbor and the events that happen then. People would have stood up and sayed that Peral Harbor was prophized in the bible, in fact I wouldn't be suprised if there were people who though that. Prophecy are funny creatures and should be taken with grain of salt, doesn't mean we ignore them just that we don't get wrapped up in to them that we start see prophecy in every thing that happens in the world, if you do that you will live in constent fear. Revelations was layed down to be a guide post, so that we can keep watch and be ready, but then as christans we should always be ready. So turning every event in to a prophecy is counter productive in my opinion. Unless the vision is from god him self and can be backed up with scripter all prophecy should be ignored. That is my opinion on the subject any way.
  11. Well this is just my personal opinion for what its worth. I don't think there is a single person on this planet who can fathom who the Anti-Christ is and when he will rise to powers. I think his coming will come out of no where and throw every one off. The bible says that many people will be taken in by the Anti-Christ, that they will be fooled. To me this suggest that he will appear out of nowhere and rise to power and for while he will seem like a shining becon of hope for the world but will turn on the world in flash of an eye. I think it's pointless to guess who the Anti-Christ is or when it will happen. The only thing we can do is watch for the signs and hold on to are faith, that is all we can do.
  12. I would recommend picking up a book called A Devine Revelation of Heaven by Mary K Baxter. It goes in to great detail as to what heaven will be like. However in the book she says that we won't be sitting around doing nothing, that we will have jobs, we won't get tired, we won't feel said etc etc. Now when I first heard her describe this my first though was "Well that kind of sucks, I get in to heaven just to have to work, why can't I just lay around and do nothing." however now that I think about it I am see this through a mortal perception, I am looking at work as a mortal and with all the elements that come with working from a human level of thinking. However heaven will is spiritual and there is no way from my mind to grasp what heaven will be like. Mary describes a lot things but no matter how much she describes heaven it won't help me truely understand what it will be like, it just gives me a vague idea. So my thinking is that we will have task and we will enjoy servering the lord and we will praise his name and be filled with joy. In fact it will be far better then I can ever imagin. Now the last thing I want to point out using your Chicken Wing Analogy, I would much rather spend eternity eatting chicken wings, then to spend all of eternity in an oven in gulfed in flames and eternal torment. To me this is not hard choose, server god for all of eternity in peace and love and joy, or roast in hell in constent torment and pain for all of eternity. I choose going to heaven, I will be more then happy to clean the toilets (if there were toilets), or lick gods toes clean for all of eternity then to go to hell for all of eternity. (if any one wants to lick gods other toes I am more then happy to share.) sorry bad joke, I hope god has a sense of humor. I love ya god.
