    Question

I did go to counseling years ago and it did help a lot. With the recent death of my grandmother and my mom bad-mouthing her after her death, all the pain resurfaced. She said her mother used get drunk and wreck havoc upon them but in the 32 years I've been alive, I've only witness her drinking twice and it was only a couple of beers. She quit drinking and went too AA b/c my mother asked her to go yet she is still drinking. The she says she never hurt anybody when she drank,... I'm frustrated right now and I guess I'm beginning to see that I am not as "healed" as I think I am. Oh yea, and I am back in school

    Question

Actually, you make a lot of sense. I recently went back to school and am studying to become a pastoral counselor so that I can help others that might be experiencing the same. I have to fully heal myself first. Almost there, like I said on an earlier response, all of this was just resurfaced b/c of what she recently said, "my drinking never hurt anybody!"

    Question

Thank you for sharing. I guess i just find myself reliving the same wound b/c of what she recently said, "my drinking never hurt anybody!" and everything resurfaced!!!

    Question

im sure i can give this a shot but my answer goes into a territory that many stay away from. it's sad and unfortunate that you went through all these things. People make choices and with those choices come consequences. When parents make bad choices they take the family down with them. God will allow that. He sure will. However, you are here now and you have the chance to spiritually grow. You cant change the past but change the future so when you have your children then you can make good choices. may God bless you Thats why I stopped drinking myself. I have a one year old now and I am asked God to deliver me and so far so good! She didn't. Thanks a lot for your kind words!

    Question

I have been debating with this question for quite some time now. If God is all powerful (which to my knowledge is more powerful than my lil brain can wrap around) then why can't He answer certain prayers. See, when I was young, my mother was an abusive alcoholic. Her 4 children all have a variety of psychological issues because of it. But I remember we used (her 4 kids) pray and pray for God to make her stop either drinking so heavily, stop drinking period, or just stop the abuse. She never did stop drinking but shes not abusive to anyone anymore. She goes to sleep at 10 30 where before she'd be up wrecking havoc until 4a.m. It's just too late. We are all adults now and it doesn't matter that shes changed now, the damage is done. So my question here is, if He is all powerful, why didn't He do this before when we were all suffering so much b/c of her? When we were kids and living with her? I understand all the free will stuff but the thing is, she still drinks and its her will to do so as she hasn't sought treatment but she's very different now. Why couldn't she have changed when we were kids? I remember she'd come home with a 24 pack and we'd all be hurrying up and making plans to spend the night at friend's houses to avoid the abuse. But sometimes she'd tell us we couldn't go anywhere b/c she had to "talk to us", which we knew meant she had to emotionally and mentally abuse us. "Stupid, losers, bimbos", and other words that are curse words. Then she'd sometimes start with the psychical abuse. It wasn't so much that it hurt physically, it was how she did it like tying us up to poles in the basement while she drank and smoked. She alienated all of her relatives that could've help us like her sisters, brothers, and grandparents. She'd tell them to stay away from her kids. She'd tell us that if we got close to them they would just hurt us like they'd hurt her. Come to discover later on that she was the oldest of her siblings and that she used to do the same to them. On top of it, she was a huge liar. She drank so much she'd twist everything up in her head so that she wouldn't feel guilty and place the blame on everyone else. She doesn't remember the abuse she did to us or her siblings. See, there comes a time when you black out after drinking so much you can conveniently forget. She claims, "my drinking never hurt anybody!!!". God help me but I want to shake her violently when she says that... I have to remind myself that God commands love and forgiveness and then I change the conversation. Its just useless if she doesn't remember and the damage is DONE. Only one of us got to graduate from H.s., one got pregnant at 16, one became a drug dealer, and the other one almost went nuts herself (me). She denied me of going to college when I was 19. She said no, she wasn't going to let me go to. She said it was too expensive so without her financial aid (W-2 s) I couldn't go. I did nothing with my life except drink and get into things that I had no business in. After all that abuse, I STILL had ambition and she killed that too. I have a very strong faith NOW but my question is, where was He then??? Why didn't He do something...ANYTHING to stop her??? Was it all her??? Was she really that selfish??? Was God tugging at her heart to stop and she shushed Him off b/c she didn't care that much about us??? Can someone behave that way and never ask God for forgiveness and still get into heaven??? I blame her for everything that went wrong in my life because the decisions I made, I made to get away from her, b/c of her abuse, and because of her neglect. She ruined the beginning of my life. I know I sound bitter but its because when I think about it, it still hurts.
  6. Thanks everyone! I'm going to give all of the suggestions a try.
  7. Hi there! I am looking for good Christian radio stations. I found christianradio.com but it's got a ton of them! I'm just looking for some good recommendations. Good music and/or good shows. Or anything on GodTube. Basically, anything I can listen to while I clean my house Thanks!!!
  8. I heard her say on one of her shows that she heard a minister say once that "God is a jealous God" and she didn't like it. She said that when she heard that she thought that there was probably more, "theres something more out there"... I believe was her exact words. I am with all of you on this. I am praying for her and her listeners too. She was doing so well to help people and now she's straying people. She's one of the most influential people on this earth! That's scary!
  9. Duh...NASA...I didn't even think to look there..... Thats the thing about a "theory", as far as I could tell this is just a "theory" as of now...neither side has enough evidence yet to disprove or prove.... you may post links to Nasa... LOL Okay here are the NASA links.... http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/solars...905-images.html Here they CLEARLY state it's been discovered.... but then theres this... http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/ask-an-astrob...estion/?id=2872
  10. Okay, I went on GodTube but those videos weren't there. I went on NASA.gov and found a few articles that contradicted itself. One article says that scientists did in fact discover a tenth planet (which I remember hearing about in the news) and then i saw an article where a scientist is saying that it is a hoax and also completely denies that there was a 10th planet at all. I just thought it was interesting because if they did discover this planet that supposedly rotates around the sun and past the Earth (causing the polars to shift) then why are they denying that they discovered it at all? Why didn't the scientist just say yes we discovered it but it's not going to pass by the Earth in 2012 so closely that it will cause global cataclysmic destruction. Its a complete contradiction. All you have to do is do a search on NASA's website and see the article posted on their that they did in fact discover a 10th planet... Weird, hu?
  11. Exactly, chiquita. Satan will always try to snatch one back when they move closer to God. Tell your friend to rebuke him in Jesus' name every time she feels doubt or confusion about her faith. It really does work. Thank you so much and God Bless!!!
  12. What do you mean when you say the Holy Spirit bringing about conviction? If she knew she did wrong and says she is fully repented (which I believe she has) then why would the Holy Spirit be trying to bring about conviction? Does this mean she still needs to see the full extent of what she did? Thanks so much for all of your replies!!! Hmmm, I think I just answered my own question.... lol It probably is Satan trying to bring on confusion and uncertainty because her life is totally different since she turned to God.
  13. Oh okay, well it isn't much of a conspiracy theory. It's just about the tenth planet that was recently discovered that sounds much like Rev 6:12-17. I just thought everyone might be interested in seeing that what the year 2012 will bring has already been uncovered. Nevermind!!! LOL
  14. What do you mean when you say the Holy Spirit bringing about conviction? 15. God says we wont know when He will return but nothing about when the tribulation will begin... What do you all think??? Planet X is scheduled to pass by planet Earth in December of 2012 and will cause the polars to shift causing global cataclysmic natural disasters... Check out the videos. It sounds like the 6th seal of Book of Revelations: Rev 6:12 - 17 Then I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the full moon became blood red; 6:13 and the stars in the sky fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when shaken by a fierce54 wind. 6:14 The sky was split apart like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. 6:15 Then the kings of the earth, the very important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 6:16 They said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 6:17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?" In Video 4, if the governments of the world are deciding who gets to underground or in the mountain caves to hid from this thing (as stated in Revelation 6:12 Then the kings of the earth, the very important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. Think: the end of the movie Terminator 3) then I guess since the world is being run by the freemasons (the skulls, the masons, the Illuminati, the new world order) then it would be safe to say that they are going to chose other freemasons leaving Christians to fend for themselves. In video 5, the narrator talks about the surviving people will DEMAND a new (enlightened) world and will want peace unlike the other world that has just passed. The Bible talks about how the deceiver (The Anti-Christ) will come as a peacemaker when the world is in great turmoil and in the middle of the great tribulation. If this happen like this, it sounds a lot like the rest of the Book of Revelations. MAY GOD HELP US ALL!!!
  16. You couldn't have said it better. It's very easy to open doors for Satan to get a hold of you, by small things like reading stars, horoscopes etc. Years ago, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I played the game where you hold a ring over your hand to see what the gender is. That was all very innocent, until my daughter was about 8 months old and I couldn't get near her. I spoke to our pastor and he send a person to me who was a satanist and got saved, She told me that I opened a door for satan and gave him permission to be in charge of my unborn child's life. That is scary, and I know there is probably people who will disagree with me, but I had to really repent and get these bondages broken over me and my child's lifes. I don't want to go that road again. Wow!!! How scary is that! Something we think is so innocent can really hurt us! Well then wouldn't it be safe to say that at some point, we all have because of our ignorance regarding these things? So God then closes these doors for us and gives us protection right?
  17. She's a friend from church so I know she really has finally repented wholeheartedly but she seems to be really worried about that. I told her she should talk to the Pastor about it. How do you know the door has been closed? Thank you by the way!
  18. What does it mean when people say that you "opened a door" in reference to the occult? I know someone who used to mess with the occult and her Uncle told her that when she was doing that she opened a door. What does that mean? Like in the spirit world? A door to hell? Does anyone know anything about this? I know God can do all things, she is now saved, can God close this door for her?

  21. What about reconciliation? Exactly, after every possible avenue of reconciliation has been attempted and your pastor or spiritual advisor releases you from the covenant pursue a legal divorce. IMO and personal expereince regrettably you need strong objective, spiritual counsel to deem the marriage to be dead. Moving slowly and with spiritual responsibility is crucial to your current marriage and any possibility of contentment in a future relationship. I see but what if the husband that wants out doesn't even want to reconcile or doesn't even want to go to church anymore? Can God forgive? Yes Remember it was the church who put the marriage together, the church should determine when it is dead. Thank you for your clarification! I will pray for my friend's marriage and for a loving outcome.

  23. IF a husband leaves his wife for whatever reason and she's left alone with their children or child. Can she remarry? Will this cause whomever she marries to sin as adultery? How does this work?
