  1. Look at a map. You see where the Tigris and Euphrates flow out of the Red Sea? Well, there are 2 old dried up river beds going to the east and west in that area. It is speculated that Eden was somewhere around there because the book of Genesis mentions the tigris, Euphrates and other rivers flowing out of eden., so Nod would be somewhere to the east if that's where Eden was. But as said above, earth was changed after the flood, so we really won't know the exact location, especially this side of heaven.
  2. Yeah, really. I guess it is the general reaction of many people to think of how bad they have it and not realize that there are a lot of people who have it worse. Like children in America today. They won't eat something because it "tastes funny" but kids in Africa would be eternally grateful for one piece of that Brocolli that "Billy" (random name) threw away.
  3. Could you live in one of those colonies? Personally, I'd rather stay on earth, where God put me, but I wonder what it would be like to live on another planet.
  4. Not to mention the fact that there aren't any martians to grow asparagus!
  5. Eric, they are trying to put animals on equal footing with humans, thereby denying the distinction between humans and animals. "As bioethicist Wesley Smith explains on his blog in a post on the Spanish resolution, "Of course the purpose of this isn't to merely improve the treatment of great apes - which could be accomplished as it already has been in some places via normal animal welfare statutes. Rather, the explicit point of the GAP is revolutionary - to demote human beings from the uniquely valuable species and into merely another animal in the forest. Once people accept that premise," he continues, "Judeo/Christian philosophy goes to the guillotine allowing the utilitarian agenda to proceed unhindered, leading in turn to the moral value of the weak and vulnerable among us becoming archaic, resulting in their loss of the right to life and being used instrumentally for those deemed more valuable." (This keeps getting edited to add more information as I read the article further.) Then you see this quote from the article as well: Thats is why it is not clear to me exactly what all this means yet. There is not enough specific information in the article as to what exactly the provisions of the legislation are for me to make a judgement. Basically we have 2 conflicting statements in the article. On that says it will make humans and apes equal, and one that says it won't. I think it's saying that they are giving apes SOME equal rights. They're not giving apes the right to an attorney or the right to own property, they're mostly giving them the rights to life protected by the state. What disgusts me is that they give this right to an ape before an unborn human child.
  6. There are a lot of people that believe that believe that there are many ways to heaven, but, if you are one of these, what is your reasoning. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody can come to the father except through me" So what is the reasoning?
  7. It's in the post above you.
  8. Mine too brother. Luke 16:22-25 22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' 25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
  9. Here's the article and a video. http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/399288.aspx
  10. Try looking at CBN.com. I saw it while watching the 700 club last night
  11. The Spanish government has just passed a law giving apes some of the same fundamental rights as human beings. It's so ridiculous, they can give rights to apes, but not unborn children, I'm absolutely disgusted! Any thoughts?
  12. I've noticed this too. To add to this, has anyone but me noticed that Jews are also being increasingly made fun of in pop culture, for example South Park. There's also a scene in Family Guy where they unfreeze Walt Disney from cryosleep, and they say welcome to the future Mr. Disney, and he asks. "Are the Jews gone yet?" and they say no, and he says "Put me back in" I don't get it Jews are our brothers, yet even Christians have some kind of unwarranted disdain for them.

  14. You've got to be subtle. You should gently lead through words and actions and DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT shove it in the persons' face, or they'll just be driven away. Make sure she knows what God has done for her and what Jesus did on the cross. Other than that just pray that you'll have the right words when the time comes.
  15. It's really quite simple. Creation may be evidence of a Creator, but the suitability of our planet is not. Yer starting to sound like "blah blah blah". Making a lot of noise but not saying anything. Real mature. I've made my point clear. Over and over again. It's still your opinion. Some things are matters of opinion, others are matters of fact. Some things are matters of faith, others are matters of reason. This is the latter of both. Your point is that Creation = Creator, but what I keep trying to tell you is that that is an entirely different and argument to whether or not the suitability of our universe invalidates atheism. The fact that the arguments are separate is not a matter of opinion. Ok. You win. Are you saying this because you can't and/or don't wish to expend the mental energy to understand what cache is saying and just want to be done with the conversation, or do you really admit to understanding and agree with cache? I don't agree with him. I just don't like being nagged. I know, right? People wanting you to think all the time. What's up with that? It's not that he doesn't want to think. He just doesn't want to waste his time arguing with you because he knows he has better things to do. He could talk to someone who listens, not to someone who closes his mind and refuses to think outside the box. Trust me, I know enough of your theories, because I've been forceibly attacked with them for since I was in 8th grade, and I've given them their fair share of thought, and they just don't hold up to my questions, whereas creationism and the Bible do. I suggest opening your mind and looking at our perspectives as well as your own, even if you don't choose to beleive creationism, you'll most likely gain more respect for those of us that do. www.answersingenesis.com
  16. The point is that the fact that our universe is suited to us fits equally well with Creationism and Atheism, so it isn't evidence for either side.
  17. That's because God loves us and wants us to prosper. So what you're saying is that if God didn't want us to prosper (hypothetically speaking of course), that we would have come to live in a universe that wasn't suited to our existence? Do you see the giant hole in that kind of reasoning? If God didn't want us to prosper, he wouldn't have created us at all. He didn't create us with suffering in mind Cache.
  18. Do you know what I think is kinda funny? So many scientists act like science and the Bible are bitter enemies, but in reality, they go hand in hand. Thermodynamics, geology, biology, astronomy, etc. They all support the Bible. Especially the last two. Biology show's how precise life is, and how complex it is. That's one source of varying viewpoint. When species are similar, evolutionists claim a common ancestor, while creationists claim a common designer. Astronomy shows just how precise our universe really is. It may seem like chaos, but it is acutally pretty systematic. This is where thermodynamics comes in. The second law of thermodynamics states that all things slowly move toward disorder. This can prove a younger universe, because if it is 6.5 billion years old, it would be a lot more chaotic. I'd reccomend www.answersingenesis.com for further study of creation science if you're interested;) But really, with all this science and ID verses evolution, we're losing sight of what really matters.....God! We focus so much on proving our point to the scientists who, most likely, will disregard everything we say. I'd say that it's time to focus on our faith and strengthening the faith of other Christians. We shouldn't focus on using science to convert atheists. We should focus on God's word. I've brought a few people over and I thank God for giving me the opportunity, but in those times, it wasn't science, but God and his word that convicted their hearts. So basically I'd like to get your opinions on this. Walk with God Jeff
