  1. I too take these post as they stand. because I can't ''read'' you body language or hear your voice tones. Aren't many of us testing our own concepts, understanding, bias, in an open arena ?? therefore Chill folks if it offends.
  2. You might give mine a listen. We have no membership and nothing you can join. We have two different Sunday services with different messages. Wednesday night bible sthdy, Friday night prayer service, outreach prison ministries, Saturday Bible studies in the gym, youth groups, camp meetings, our own gym with basketball, racketball, weight rooms, steam baths, & whirlpools all inside. You can visit online at "Livingwaterstabernacle.com" - You may not like it at all ><> ><> I had a looks much like ours with a different ''Acent'' Mine--> http://www.newfrontiers.xtn.org/ Local,to be updated.---> http://www.kingshastings.org/index_act_megamix.htm
  3. 1) Teaching that is biblically based. - If a church doesn't teach the bible then I wouldn't want to attend. 2) The acknowledgement & welcoming of the Holy Spirit. 3) Focus on the cross & the fact that it is now empty. I think that one of the most important things for Christians is to remain focused on Jesus, our eyes on the 'prize'. When you find it don't join you'll make it less than it is or could be.!!! Life with a capital L away from the the man made traditions. (however I have nothing against churches that aren't lively or the people who chose to be part of it.) Therefore the Spirit & the truth of the word. I also think it is most necessary for a good church has good 'social' aspects. If the only things that ever happen at a church are a Sunday service then staying a Christian during the week is much harder. Youth groups, midweek housegroups and bible-studies, weekends away, holiday clubs, encouragement to meet in small prayer groups (prayer 'triplets etc.'). The less important things: Do people agree/disagree? What are your thoughts? & of cause FOOD----> Have you noticed that when you have people round for a meal & you then ''move to a more comfortable seat'' the indepth conversation dies some what !!
  4. I believe that all who are filled with the Holy Spirit are therefore able, & sometimes available to lead others as we pass on that gift, discipling as we continue on the path Christ has led us. We were chosen to do this, we are sometimes called to give a word, to prophesy, to interpret etc. Leaders are chosen by God & the body of people around them will in time recognise this & anointing & will be drawn to the Christ at work in them. Working with children from 6-11 over some 15 years I have seen & worked with some who quite obviously have a gift which can be seen to develop. One now 12 is helping with an older teens group on the 'foundation course'. Another who way back in the '90's would pray for any age of persons for healing or anything else who now at 20+yrs leads praise regularly in my local group & at youth conferance as does one of his contemperaries. ( 5000) If you want someone to pray for something in particular, ask a child they come to it as Christ has ask us to come to Him. Some time back it was know in China for a 15yr old to be covering/leading Churches; not just one church, as there was such a desparate need for people who could preach teach as the general population of believers could barely read let alone interpret the meanings, what an anointing.!! If someone joins & they ''Held'' a position previously don't be in haste to place them into a similar post they may have experience & also left the other place through an unhappy experience. If they are not able to just chill & be one of the followers were they ever able to learn whether they were ever malable enough for God to use them. (Humility, servanthood.) lessons I need to learn.
  5. As there are it seems, so many (Grumpy)young & elder people amonst us who are feed up to their back teeth with the O.T.T. suggestions & legislation around the whole area of things P.C. 1) Do you think this is serious & affects each of us in society??. ><> I think it has some baring on each of us. If we haven't been directly effected by P.C. We have all heard or read something that makes us angry for the sake of others. 2) what is the answer???? ><> When we are in direct contact with P.C. we can make a statement as simple as this. Being asked by my son if I would enjoy an art exhibition, we went to the pay desk & asked for ''one & one pentioner'' the assistant said ''senior citizen!'' I just said ''pensioner will suit me'' ( I was lighthearted that day.) I told him to accept what people found they were comfortable with & not to down trodden by pressures of P.C.. Don't you think we're all able to get people to think instead of just going with the flow. Look where going with the flow has taken many countries inhabitance. Christians might say prayer, politicals might say lobby the government, radicals ''lets march''. 3) How do you suggest the ''man in the street'' makes his/her stand against these over emphasis.??? or should we continue to let things slide.? ><> that why the world is in the state it is now because the Church has let things slide by us.!! I would say please don't just let this topic slide. Just one type of crazyness--------> http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-...hed-struck.html
  6. Christ did more than that is written in black on white. 1)What did He do?? 2) Is He still doing more than is written in The Word.?? 3) Do we limit Him (Can we??) 4) Have I let Him out of my box???? & (How about you) 5) How does His other works show now?
  7. ><> So my comments have no value or need your response !!??
  8. Acts 7:51 -53. 51 "You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit! 52 Was there ever a prophet your fathers did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him 53 you who have received the law that was put into effect through angels but have not obeyed it." Q.1. Do you think the Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets?? Q.2. Did the O/T Law carry with it the ''Word'' the living Word?? Q.3. Did they 'miss' it because they did not recognise the work of the Holy Spirit or not ''Know'' God.??
  9. ><> The lack of replies from the rest of your country suggest your a brave man
  10. I am suprised that no one has aded a comment after reading mine concidering the responses I had in the begining. So do I assume that you now see some of the points I made to have been reasonalbe.????
  11. Why don't you give us an example of what you wanted to hear? Please don't tell me you're actually comparing the U.S. to China. Perhaps if you posted your question on a secular forum, you will get the answers you so desire. ><> was just a jibe,! what about point two??
  12. Given the seemingly biased responses here, I was sadened,I just hope the Brits aren't ask their thoughts on the U.S.A. & it's leader. I didn't hear any of the Christian bias to the love of Christ to all men/maids & the proverb of planks in eyes or even people in glass houses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. ><> I like 'em thanks . Any more of this quality any one??
  14. Yay, a poll - I love these. The whole children/grandchildren thing is an interesting twist, what a good idea. WHAT OF YOUR CHARACTER WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO LEAVE WITH YOUR OFSPRING.? (wish he'd hurry) WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR MARRIAGE DAY? When it comes - the most important thing to me is that it's a celebration - whether that means an elopement or a grand scale cathedral setting with a ten foot cake, I don't care. I hate the 'we have to do this because everybody else does it thing'. If it's fake or won't bless us, (or others) I don't want it. Things I would like my children to know - If you arn't willing to lay down your life for God, you cannot live for him. Do it, do it, do it - regardless of what you think you may lose - it's only temporary. If you've run the race well - nothing else matters. 15. ><> .<> Sooooo you discount China . Wont that put you at a disadvantage at some point in time.???
  16. ><> ><> Perhaps there is a lesson in this situation. We have all/most! I'm afraid, been victims of some sort abuse. Dosen't it give us a measure of empathy & knowledgeable prayer pointers. But the hampering of the chains unforegiveness can be broken through the power of Christ at work in us.
  17. From a Christian point of view I would say 'forgive as Christ forgave me.' Find that peace before thinking futher & creating a mountain of unforegiveness & hate.

  19. 4 overactive leaders .---> from UCB's ''The Word For Today''Aug. 30. Part B. '' If you are a leader, you'r particularly at risk. Don't sacrifice your family on the alter of your career or you'll end up with regrets you can't resolve. The son of a well known missionary stood at his dad's grave without shedding a tear. He told someone, ''You never miss what you never had. My dad loved people on the otherside of the world, but I'm not sure he loved me.'' Wake up! The clock is ticking & the days are flying by. Yes, you must fulfil your God-given assignment in life but not at the cost of the people who matter. Take a moment & think about these words; ''And Jonathon had David reaffirm his..love for him...Then Jonathon said to David..You will be missed, because your seat will be empty' 1 Sam. 20:17-18.
  20. ><> ><> We can also be aware; that even if some of our experiences in various church settings have not seemed too helpful, ( English understaement) we have been sitting under a word of God's.
  21. ><> ><> Maybe a question of lost time, lack of knowledge or experience, gifting, level of freedom in Christ or possibly teaching or training.
