  1. The killing of children, both born and unborn, the rampant divorce rate, the disrespect for authority, and children who have no clue about right and wrong ect...are all symptoms of what Jesus called the last days. Killing of ones own child is not natural affection. But mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, LACKING NATURAL AFFECTION. ect 2 Timothy 3:1-5

    Holy Communion

I'm not Missy, but I can tell you that Isa. 1:8 tells us that "though our sins are as scarlet, they will be washed white as snow".

    Holy Communion

Communion is something we do "in rememberance" of the sacrafice Christ made for us on the cross. The bible doesn't say how often we are to do it-but does say, when you do it, do it in rememberence of Me. (Luke 22:19) Our church has communion once a month, but I think the early church did it every time they came together. Communion is like baptism, in that it doesn't make one more saved, but it is a reminder to us of the sacrafice that was made for our souls. We are to partake of communion only if we are a blood bought child of God, and in prayerful thanksgiving of His love.
  4. Maranatha-it means "come quickly, Lord Jesus". is the cry of my heart. I pray that the Lord will come back for us soon.
  5. They were also the chief officials in charge of Solomon's projects -- 550 officials supervising the men who did the work. (1 Kings 9:23) They were also King Solomon's chief officials -- two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men. (2 Chronicles 8:10) Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he said this, he breathed his last. (Luke 23:46) When he received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19:30) Furthermore, there are errors of fact in the Bible: Bats aren't birds: These are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, ... any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat (Leviticus 11:13-19) You may eat any clean bird. But these you may not eat: the eagle, ... any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. (Deuteronomy 14:11-17) Rabbits don't chew their cud: The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; ... (Leviticus 11:6)
  6. If you cling to, trust in, rely on Jesus Christ and His shed blood, then you are a Christian-no matter what label you put on yourselves. None of us have complete knowledge that we are all correct in the side issues of doctrine we believe.
  7. Excuse me, but I think your going a bit overboard with the doctrines of demons stuff. "Oneness" has doctrinal error, but so do most other denominations.
  8. Hi, I am a Pentecostal Christian but not of the "Oneness" variety. My brother-in-law is a member of this sect and I would go so far as to say they have cult like tendencies. Their are 3 major beliefs. Number one-a person is saved by one verse-Acts 2:38. They believe a person must be baptised in the name of Jesus, as opposed to the "name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. A person is not saved if they have not been baptised by the correct formula. They also believe you must be bapitsed in the Holy Spirit-which is when you get your prayer tongue. If you have not been baptised in this way, you are not saved. They also believe in dressing very old fashioned. They believe Jesus has manifested Himself in 3 ways, as opposed to the "trinity", which we believe. Jesus cannot be three in one but is one with three manifestations. This is hard to understand, but near as I can figure-they believe Jesus can only be the Father, Son or Holy Spirit one at a time. I believe my brother in law is truly a Christian, but he doesn't accept my salvation because I have not been baptised by the right formula. We have done lots of emailing back and forth on this subject and his heart is closed.
  9. If the person that is mocking and offensive to you goes to your church, I assume that the person is a Christian. In that case, the scripture is clear. You need to go and have a talk with the person and tell them their attitude and smart remarks are offensive to you. If they will not listen then you need to take a Christian brother with you. It is hard for us when we are treated cruely by the world, but when it is someone who professes Christ it is even worse. Do not let this go on.
  10. Why don't you put a Worship CD in your Walkman and go for a prayer walk? \o/\o/\o/\o/\0/\0/\0/\0/\0/
  11. I think this is one of those "gray areas" we are always arguing over. I wouldn't participate because of the "eastern religion" conotation. If God says it's ok for you then, go ahead. Don't forget to pray first though and make sure your answer is from Him and not your own desires. "Whatever is not of faith, is sin".
  12. Out of that list you gave, I never heard of any of them.

    Born again

Well, I did post it-under religious discussion and this is the answer I got,
  14. This do in rememberence of Me. That's what He said. I think the reason most churches don't use wine is because some of us who now love the Lord once were in the grips of alcoholism. Although, one part of our denomination (Assemblies of God) does use wine, (the Italians, don't ya know)
  15. Do you blend in-if so, your not doing what God asked. He said, we are to be a different sort, Does your language reflect the Love of Christ?, There are ways in which we are different, even if we don't "preach" all the time. I've had lots of people at work apologize for swearing in front of me, even if I never said anything about my Lord. Does your dress reflect modesty? These days the light and darkness are very seperate-the world is such a dark place, your light will show. The darkness is getting deeper and deeper.

    Born again

Angels, I thought that was a great post! I copied and pasted it on another message board that I frequent where most of the people are into wierd religions or athiests. Thanks, hope you didn't mind.
  17. Language tucked inside the Homeland Security bill will allow the federal government to track the e-mail, Internet use, travel, credit-card purchases, phone and bank records of foreigners and U.S. citizens in its hunt for terrorists. In what one critic has called "a supersnoop's dream," the Defense Department's Total Information Awareness program would be authorized to collect every type of available public and private data in what the Pentagon describes as one "centralized grand database." Computers and analysts are supposed to use all this available information to determine patterns of people's behavior in order to detect and identify terrorists, decipher plans and enable the United States to pre-empt terrorist acts. The project first appeared in the Senate Democratic proposal for the new Homeland Security Department, which was defeated Wednesday in a 50-47 vote. However it was included in the Republican-brokered agreement that passed the House later that night in a 299-121 vote and is on the fast track to pass the Senate by next week. The computer-generated project of raw data will "help identify promising technologies and quickly get them into the hands of people who need them," according to a congressional leadership memo outlining the legislation. In a blistering op-ed piece in yesterday's New York Times titled "You Are A Suspect," columnist William Safire compared the database to George Orwell's Big Brother government in the novel "1984." "To this computerized dossier on your private life from commercial sources, add every piece of information that government has about you

  19. Thanks for that. I recently came in contact with one of those "christians" on a simple living forum who found it offensive that I tagged my signature with "Jesus is God".
  20. "Handing out candy at Haloween is no different than passing out drugs on the street"??? That's simply an outrageous statement. I think it's a great idea to give out tracts, ect.. with the candy you give out on halloween. Children who see a house closed and locked up on halloween do not get the idea that "wow a follower of Christ must live here". They see bad attitude. Use this opportunity to share the Word of God, this is not "satans day" but it is the day the Lord has made.
  21. Let's see.... The Oath by Frank Peretti is pretty good. I also like just about anything by Max Lucado. Hinds Feet on High Places-Hanna Hubbard, ranks up there pretty high as does Mark Twain and C.S. Lewis.
  22. Wow, what an awesome job the Lord has given you! Perhaps you were called to the Kingdom for such a time as this. Your prayers and the breaking of strongholds that you do avail much, the weapons of your warfare are not carnal but are mighty through God. If you have any energy left after such a job perhaps you could become involved in your local crisis pregnancy center. Blessings and prayers to you.
  23. "Many of us are better people for it???" Sorry but that's just too far out there to let slide. No one is better because of abuse-God can work all things for good, but it sounds as if you're advocating abuse to make us better people.
  24. Hi Rick, my name is Jan and I live with my great husband of 25 years and our mentally handicapped foster son. I have been saved since 1981 and attend an Assembly of God church-mostly because it is the most scriptural church I have found around here. If I had my druthers-I would find a spirit-filled Messianic congregation. I have one child who left us last year to go Home to the Lord, after graduating in April from Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland Fl. I have another child who is lost in the nether world of mental illness, so we have had our share of tears here, but God is faithful! I enjoy these boards too and find it a great way to dig into scripture.
  25. Oops, double post! :sarcasm:
