  1. My pastor preached on the Yoke of Christ recently. He also talked about the Yoke of Sin and how heavy & burdensome it is and how so many people are in bondage to it. Then he talked about the Yoke of Legalism and also how it is too heavy to bear. The Lord does not want us to be under the Yoke of Sin or Legalism. He talked about how yokes were back in those days. When they were training an animal, they used a very heavy yoke. When the animal got to know the master and obedied willingly out of love, they put on a much lighter yoke. The Yoke of Christ is light, because we obey Him willingly out of love.
  2. Try asking God for help and don't stop attending church. Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
  3. I have to disagree with that. Today more and more sin is being "accepted" and is being brought out of the closet. Just because it is out in the open, that does not make it right! If you noticed in these verses, God granted repentance to these people. Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Why don't confess your sins to God and ask Him to grant YOU repentance?
  4. Darkest Red, You did things that put Jesus on the cross...whipped, brutalized, beaten, humilated, and dejected all without opening His mouth.........He could have called ten thousand angels and not have endured it........BUT HE TOOK YOUR PLACE! Since Jesus loved you so much that He took your place, do you want to crucify Him all over again by doing what you know is wrong? Do your really REALIZE JESUS DID FOR YOU? In His love, Tracey

  6. Bad biker, It is truly awesome what God did at the Judgement House at your church! Praise the Lord! I wish we had evangelistic events more often and also that the follow-up was available. Tracey
  7. Sorry........I was that type of Christian for a number of years and I feel so guilty, I wish I could do more......but I find peace in knowing as long as I do daily what He leads me to, I am being obedient... Realizing what He did for me on the cross, I wish I could do such much more. But as long as I am obedient daily, step by step, dependent on Him, I am doing all I can. God bless you and I am sorry for taking it wrong. I wonder, too, sometimes about nourishing the new babies. God gives different gifts to different people............if there were more people to follow-up if a person with the gift of evangelism leads a bunch to the Lord, it sure would help in discipleship if others would mentor some......... I would like for some type of mentoring/encouragement/discipleship thing to get going someday for new believers and for kids who come without parents.
  8. Another Traveler, There is a lot of kids I do follow-up with. I bring about 12-13 kids to church on Wednesday nights and also teach Sunday School. I try to encourage others, also. I am do my best in all I do to continue to Shepherd but there is not much that can be done if the kids already attend church of another similiar denomination besides possibly contact their pastors. I prayed about whether to offer a kids new Christian class in case there were decisions but did not feel Him leading me to advertise this at the fall festival. (at least this first year that I did this) And it just so happens the kids that accepted Jesus already had churches. Tracey
  9. Regarding their ages....there was a girl that was about 12 years old and a boy about 11 that prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They said they attended chuch (they just were not saved) so that is why I told them to tell their own parents & pastors. I had a clipboard prepared in case their appeared to be one we could further minister to. It is possible I should have got their names to contact their pastors myself. It is the first time I have done this. The girl who seemed very close is about 10 years old and will talk more with a lady church member is very dear and is her neighbor. The boy who I was not sure about was about 8 or 9. He seemed to be under conviction and continued to pray with his head bowed after a group prayer. I was very careful with the younger ones to present things in a way a felt the Holy Spirit leading me to. I did not want any to make decisions they did not understand.
  10. Mr 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
  11. Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Luke 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. 7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? 8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? 9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. 10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
  12. Danielle, You cannot open his eyes or his heart, but the Holy Spirit can. I would pray for God to do that also if his faith is not true saving faith (the devils believe and tremble) that he will come to that point. I would use opportunities as the Lord leads to use the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible, scriptures that maybe have comforted you and given you hope in difficult times. "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " Jeremiah 29:11, NIV That is one of my favorites. I need to prepare to leave to pick up my child from school but may post more later as they come to mind & as I get an opportunity. Love in Christ, Tracey
  13. long-term....hell lifelong.....hopefully from a life of sin as Jesus is now the Lord of their life!
  14. Re: follow-up The two kids that I know that actually received Jesus as their Lord and Savior go to other churches....one Methodist and one Church of God. I am Baptist, but that does not matter. I told them to make sure they let their parents & pastor know. If there was one I knew who definitely accepted who did not go to church, I would have followed up with them. The one who is close to a decision but with the JW background will be follow-up by someone who is her neighbor. There are several others who it seemed the Holy Spirit was working on...those particular groups were larger ....saw espressions and eyes that remained closed after being led in a group prayer..............possible other ones but I don't know for sure.....pray the Father will place people in their path who will continue to water, etc, and be an encouragement to them We do have lists of people who registered at the entrance to the fall festival so we can hopefully follow-up on the unchurched.
  15. His Love & Shalom to you all!
  16. Hey everybody, Just wanted to praise the Lord and also let those know who are so against alternative activities around Halloween, that several children were saved at our church's fall festival in the Good News Bracelet booth I felt the Lord leading me to do. The opportunity was absolutely wonderful to share the plan of salvation in small groups. Several children made decisions that we know of and one little girl who wasn't sure yet and will be talking more to one of our church members who is her neighbor. (Please pray for her...she has some Jehovah Witness background from having attended there with a relative....) The Holy Spirit was definitely there! Just thought I would share what the LORD did on any otherwise "evil" night! In Christ, Tracey
  17. Hi Irene, It is great that you are searching for ways to serve God from where you are. It is so wonderful you are still be a gracious host and making others feel loved. There is still so much you are doing through prayer. The effectual fervant prayer of the righteous man availeth much! Yes, I found mine after I started serving God with all my heart. My motivational gift is evangelism. I love to witness to people. My suggestion is to ask GOD and seek Him with all your heart, soul, and mind and you will find His perfect will for you. Praying you will find what He would have you do! Love in Christ, Tracey
  18. I started a welcome service a little over a year ago. I bring newcomers community info, free items, gift certificates, etc., from local businesses and also a nice coupon for "eternal life". I tell them that that is the best gift I ever received. It starts conversations about the Lord when I am visiting the newcomers. I love my job! God gave me the idea when I was praying about how I could witness for Him.
  19. I've had the thought for a long time that they are demons, also.
  20. God bless you, Super Jew!
  21. Lord, please help all reading this who are in need of YOUR strength to overcome, to call on YOU for mercy, grace, and forgiveness and be empowered by Your Holy Spirit who will give them victory over sin. In Jesus prescious name, the Name above all names, Amen Re 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
  22. So that is reason! Tis so very true, though, as we can help others going through things because of the things we have gone through, however different......
  23. don't know why some rebel more than others except maybe they were never broken...not genuinely saved or else they were saved and lacked the family support and encouragement from other believers due to moves, etc, & drifted from the LORD
  24. I believe what you are talking about is discernment.
