Is he angry busy or Just have nothing to tell us?? It makes me so frustrated.. when sometimes prayer just don't go beyond the ceiling and feel that God is giving me the silent treatment. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. -- 1 Cor 10:13 (KJV) Everyone goes through time like that at some point in their walk, and there have been times when I've felt like I lived there. These are the times when our faith gets built up if we react in the right way. Continue to pray and read the Word even if it "feels" like God is in the next galaxy over. The walk of faith is about faith -- not feelings. Keep doing what you know is right according to God's Word, and the feelings will eventually start to line up with the Truth -- but it takes time. Be patient with yourself. Jesus talked a lot about fruit and agriculture for a reason: fruit takes time to grow. The tricky part is that there's no harvest without planting seeds. When I get very quiet and read His Word and Listen with my heart - I hear... and I feel. The Lord speaks to my heart at very odd times and I have trained myself to stop and be quiet and just listen.... He hears you, but sometimes He wants you to wear yourself out and get to a point where you are ready to listen with your whole being. God Bless! I've been there before, But you know what DADDY says HE will never leave you nor forsake you. I've experienced that when it feels like my prayers just hit the ceiling, then I didn't wait on DADDY to answer me. I was in a hurry to get the prayer done. That is me. I'm not sure who's quote this is, but it says, When it seems like GOD is up to nothing, HE normally is up to Something. Or something like that. What I'm actually saying is, sometimes we need to come to a place to be ready to listen what GOD wants to tell us something special, so in order for us to hear HIM, He is just waiting, still speaking with gentleness, so we can start focusing on HIM, and not on our list of things we give HIM. lv lomi Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hey, there, givennewname; I think that many Christians have struggled with the same dillemma. I know that I've gone through many dry times when it seemed like the Lord was so far away. I still have periods like that, but I have found that God used those to foster my faith, and perhaps He is doing the same for you. The Bible says that the Lord never changes, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us. There are times when it may seem that the Lord is so far away, but the Bible assures us that God is closer than we think. It is not good to rely on feelings, because so often, our feelings can deceive us. Satan will also use our feelings in order to invoke fear or doubt in our minds. What we need to do is rely upon God's word. Even when it seems that God has withdrawn His presence from us (which He hasn't because God never changes), we must rely on His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Many times, God will restrain His voice so that we enter into a deeper search for Him. It also reminds us of our incredible need for Him. It is during these silent periods that god can teach us so much, if we continue with perserverence and trust in His promises. Let me share a personal example from my own life. There was a period of time when I felt that God was witholding His presence from me. I had become very emotionally-attached to God, and the thought of Him withdrawing His presence from me frightened and grieved me. It got to the point where one day, I just broke down and begged God to show me why I wasn;t able to rest in His promises, and why I was so afraid. He showed me that the reason I was unable to do this was because of a deep-seeded fear of abandonment that I had carried around with me, since I was a child. I had allowed myself to get attached to the Lord, and the thought of Him withdrawing His presence from me struck great fear in me, but I wasn't sure why these fears always surfaced, or where they came from. God used that period of silence as a catalyst for learning, and to bring me to a place of brokenness. He showed me that I needed to address these fears, and completely trust in Him, that He is my heavenly Father, and that He would never abandon me, as all the others had. If the Lord had not kept silent, I never would have realized this, but by Him showing me this, I was able to experience a deeper understanding of myself, and of my relationship with Him. Phil. 1:6 tells us that Jesus has begun a good work in us, and will be faithful to complete that work until the day of Jesus Christ. The Lord wants us to enjoy complete depth of fellowship with Him, but it takes work. Those periods of silence that you have described -- just know that they don't necessarily mean that God is angry with you, and certainly not that He is busy. On the contrary, rather than not having anything to say, God has much to say, and we have much to learn. Those times when God sems distant -- God does nothing in vain. God works in our lives in different ways, and it is always for a reason. Ask the Lord to show you just why it is that you cannot hear His voice. God will not leave you hanging. The Bible says that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works -- not works that we ourselves do, but works that He is doing in and through us. God is working on us so that he can work thorugh us, and even in those periods of silence, rest assured that God is working something in you. Don't let Satan deceive you into thinking that God is too busy, or has nothing to say to you. He has not abandoned you!!! He wants you to learn to walk by faith. Do not get discouraged, my friend. Is he angry busy or Just have nothing to tell us?? Hi Given, I think it can be any number of things. We could have sin that we need to deal with. Self could be getting in the way. There could be war in the heavenlies that is obstructing our answer, as occurred to Daniel. Maybe the silence is a way of disaffirming a direction we've taken. Or maybe God needs to draw us out, to prepare us for some higher pastures. I think the best way to deal with this is to examine our position. First look for unconfessed sin. Do it honestly but without condemnation (respect the temple of the HS), in faith that God will lead and confirm if it's the correct direction. Then look for self-centeredness that might be blocking reception. Prayer of all kinds, but especially listening prayer, is a must. Fasting is good (I'm told... . I've prayed strength for the angels in warfare over issues concerning me and also asked for their help. Finally, I began to make progress when I sensed my need to get quiet before Him. I began to spend time in nearly wordless adoration. That's when I discovered what Paul meant when he wrote that faith works through love. I never realized that before, but the more I love God the more centered I am on Him, the more I draw near, and the more faith I have in Him, no matter my circumstances. Increasing our love relationship with God is what it's all about. It's the highway to intimacy, to Christlikeness in both character and power, and indeed to hearing His voice again. HTH, p.
