The group in the White House doesn't actually protect the country, Dave.

understatement of the century there....

They don't in any administration, yod. Our military is why we are still free people.

Then tell me why we lost the Vietnam War?

Well, I don't remember that long ago but...what I've read is that it was mismanaged. And the government lied...a lot.

Umm . . . "Commander In Chief" . . . .

Presidents ARE Commanders in Chief but I don't think we can give any of them credit for winning wars.

Know what else is absolutely fascinating? :whistling:

Joe Biden was one of SDI's opponents and voted against it during the Reagan Administration. He was one of the Liberals castigating President Reagan and calling it Star Wars.

LOL, now he's hiding behind the very technological savvy and fortitude of men like Reagan while all along he lacked it.

Absolutely Amazing, if it had been for men like President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden we would not even have the capability to down this errant Missle. You couldn not even come up with this stuff writing fiction if you tried.

God has an ironic passion, doesn't he? It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a righteous God.

Peace,

Dave

UUUUHHHHMMMMMM! Dave clears his throat. :whistling:

I seem to remember a certain, {insert foot in mouth}, Vice President during the Campaign last year telling a room full of supporters, in private,{except he didn't see the newsmen in the back} that this Administration would be tested. That something would happen about 6 months into it and that it would look like they made the wrong decision and possibly even lose public support. That's when they would need their, blind, supporters more than ever.

Let's see;

January-1, February-2, March-3, April-4, May-5, and June is month number? :blink:6? :huh::wub:

Ab-so-tively frightening, when your talking about this bunch, and Joe Biden Prophesying. They couldn't find the courage to stand up for Liberty against a bunch of Grimey Mullah's in Iran. Equivication is not stable foreign policy. ;)

Peace,

Dave

Yeah, I remember that 'prophecy' from Biden. I still don't know what he meant but he had obviously gotten security briefings by that time. They always know things that we don't.

As for Iran....the mullahs are pointing their bony fingers and cackling that Washington is meddling in Iranian affairs. What would you have the American President do? Other than making statements, what can he do? It's not about courage; as soon as GWB announced that Iran was a part of an 'Axis of Evil' (one of his best speeches ever, btw.) the normally pro-western Iranians rallied to their government's defense. They are very nationalistic, much as we are. and pushing them to defend the Supreme Leader isn't the goal. Of course the undercover things that our government has been doing for years now continue. Proxy servers have been set up for people inside Iran because the mullahs have closed down internet and cell phone access; it certainly wasn't any of their neighbors who did that.

Then why are Roosevelt and Churchill hailed as heros with regards to the winning of WWII?

Why are Eisenhower and Kennedy and Johnson and Nixon blamed for the failure to save Vietnam?

Why is Kennedy blamed for the failure of the Bay of Pigs?

Like - why is Bush blamed for the govenrment mess-ups before, during, and after Katrina?

What would you have the American President do?

As was mentioned by someone somewhere -

What Reagan did.

Sis,

You mean," the Iranians the Mullah's rousted from their jobs and possibly sleep to come to an anti-Bush rally, rallied to the their Leaders support." :whistling:

This isn't about President Bush, it's about the incompetence of the current Administration and that ill advised speech in Cairo that equivocated American Foreign Policy and her ability to project it.

"We don't meddle in the affairs of foreign nations," that is unless they are Jewish and happen to be Israel, an avid pro-American ally.

What did I expect President Obama to do? Maybe state that he was with the pro-Freedom and Change agents in Iran who desired to take back their own Nation. I mean, he is the President of Hope and Change. I'm just not sure which Hope and which Change he is talking about. :noidea::laugh:

Go back and read the dissidents writings in places like Poland and the Soviet Union when Reagan would say things like, "The Evil Empire," (naming Russia as such), and saying he stood with pro Democracy demonstrators and resistors of Communist and Socialist blight's on Freedom throughout the world.

They were emboldened.

This is about Iraq right now, believe it or not and if you want to talk about Bush, he was right to take the fight to Americ'as enemies knowing of the hegemony of Iran and Islam.

The Axis of Evil included North Korea and Iran. Of course the current crop of leftists running this Nation wouldn't know what the Axis of Evil means because they believe that it's all relative and if your nice to others they will be nice to you.

Peace,

Dave

It IS about GWB; the Iranians were very angry after that speech, which (to them) was a challenge from an infidel. I didn't say he was wrong to call them what they are, now did I? He was right on the money. However, the pro-Western youth of Iran were challenged by it and there's no point in driving them to defend Iran when they are moving away from it. You have to read the Middle Eastern 'press' to know how they think. They're muslims, for the most part, and they don't think as we do nor the way Poles and Russians do either. You're driven to defend Mr. Bush, well that's fine, but what would you do in the current situation? Once again, I believe you misunderstood my post.

Biden voted against the missile defense program? That would have been what? Twenty five years ago? I didn't know this but, yeah, it's an interesting piece of info.
