As to it being populated by nomads, well it contained cities and towns such as Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa, bethlehem, Lydda Nazareth, Jericho, Nablus, Ramla, Ramallah etc plus counless villages and farms all of whose inhabitants were non-nomadic and mostly Muslim and Christian Arabs There was no nation called Palestine. Furthermore, prior the establishment of Israel, "Palestinians" referred to the Jews living there. The Palestine Post became The Jerusalem Post after Israel was established. The Palestine Philharmonic is now the Israel Philharmonic. Much of what was "Palestinian" prior to the establishment of Israel was still Jewish And much of it was Arab! Israeli lands are for the Jews, given to them by God Himself. Whoever attempts to take the land will be destroyed, just as will anyone who tries to give it away. Ask Ariel Sharon about that. not a view shared by me or indeed most Israelis. Even Bibi will deal and since he is rather better physical state than Sharon so is unlikely to follow him into the long stay ward.

The Jews agreed. The Arabs didn't buy it. Opened a war from all directions. Got clobbered and are moaning about it ever since. and by the way, since then, they have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity for getting a state (as is proposed nowdays). They will probably miss this one too as they want everything or nothing. I've been here all my life and have no intentions of leaving. Guest shiloh357
A homeland within the territory but one that guarantted the rights of the non-Jewish population as is shown in the preamble of the mandating document Hardly, a "homeland." The land Israel settled on was nothing but useless swamp and desert. No one's land was taken away. The Arabs didn't even want the land until the Jews irrigated the deserts and dried up the swamps. They hired Arab migrants mostly from Jordan who needed jobs to help them. Most of the 650,000 "refugees" were the children of those mirgant workers. Not long enough to be considered a "homeland." In addition, when the Arabs decided to destory Israel after the UN Partition vote in 1947, the Arabs who fled their homes to make way for the Arab armies, waived their rights to that property. They left at the orders of the Arab governments planning the invasion. Even though Israel pled with them to stay and even offered them citizenship, most of them fled hoping the Arab would destroy Israel and they would not only get their homes back, but also all of the property of the dead Jews. It's called the "spoils" of war. The Palestinians sided with the losing side, and when you lose, you lose it all.
