A friend of mine made this point -

Revelation describes "the Day of the Lord", not "the Tribulation."

It may sound like semantics, but it's not. For you see, the period of time we call "the Great Tribulation" is actually a part of the Day of the Lord, but not synonymous to it.

And actually, the Anti-Christ is merely a part of God's judgment upon mankind and the Earth, not the essence of the Tribulation.

Amen!

It's Still About Sinners

"Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD."

Jeremiah 17:5

And The Faithful

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."

Jeremiah 17:7

And Family

"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

Romans 8:15

Home

"And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

Revelation 22:3-5

Because Of Jesus

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:2

And His Heavenly Father

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

I've always thought the Day of the Lord was the time of God's wrath when Jesus the Messiah returns to pour out his wrath on the rebellious wicked. I agree the Day of the Lord is not the great tribulation. There are several biblical verses that attest to this.

I also believe the Day of the Lord occurs just after the sixth angel pours out his vial upon the great river Euphrates and the waters dried up to make way for the kings of the east.... then John sees three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Revelation 16: 12-14

Blessings,

Well, as my friend pointed out -

If you read how Jesus described "the birth pains" and how He described "the Day of the Lord," you will see a similarity between the first five seals and "the birth pains" and a similarity between the opening of the sixth seal and "the Day of the Lord."

Matt. 24

29 "But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

Rev. 6

12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake ; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood ; 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains ; 16 and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb ; 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand ?"

That sounds about right

Blessings,
