This is such a tragedy and very disturbing. No doubt he had a sensitive conscience, even though he was a homosexual. God is a fair and just God...This is one of the times when I prefer to believe that God is merciful to people like this. Elton John's day is coming, as I said before in another forum. Of course I sincerely hope he repents.

I'm waiting for the liberal media to claim it was his Christianity alone that drove him to suicide.

when did elton john start becoming a "sir"? i grew up with his music, and until his recent hateful comments about God, i had never in my life heard him called sir.

He was knighted in 1998. Hence the "sir."

In 1998 Elton received a knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II for "services to music and charitable services."

gag me.

sorry, i really have always been a fan of his music (even if not of his lifestyle or his beliefs), but the whole knighting thing and hence calling himself sir is just bunk to me. i suppose it is a "proper" title in english culture though.

Yep - it goes along with being knighted. Just like Sir Paul McCartney.
