Oh don't get me wrong, I'm fat and happy, and full aware of the blessing of freedom I enjoy. I understand the suffering of millions in other lands, as I've seen it first hand many times over.

I just am finding it harder and harder to watch more and more people hand over their responsibilities and liberties over to a bunch of no-good, worthless piles of apple peels we have sitting in power these days. Through that looking glass, I'm seeing more and more how a state system is probably not what's best for mankind. It's always abused, and creates nothing but mindless blobs of whimpering, unthinking flesh that has no qualms about handing over their individual liberties over to people they've never met in exchange for services they barely get to use.

What do you propose in place of the state system, ted? Is there a government system more immune to the sloth of people?

I don't propose anything to replace it really. I just have grown weary of a state system that has proven itself incapable of governing effectively, yet has set itself up to rob people of their earnings literally by gunpoint if it deems it appropriate. If not, they have no objections to tossing people in jail for not paying.

And what do we get in return? Program after program which is designed to entrap the general public into believing that thy cannot survive without them. :noidea:

I wanna run away and live in a small village of God fearing people, subsistence farmers who generate their own food and where the mothers school the children and raise them in the ways of the Lord.

So long as it's within driving distance of a public hospital, of course :noidea: .

I also don't know how to fix this government. I don't know of any government that will be successful given the dark degenerate heart of man.

Come Lord Jesus, come.

Sounds good, let's go! :noidea:

Therein lies my issue though: given the fallen state of man, how do I legitimately give myself over to subjecation to a system I feel is not honoring God? More and more I'm finding it harder to reconcile the two and justify a system that has fallen away. It used to be that we could count on one party or the other to lean towards and have a little confidence that at least they were trying. Now it seems that there is no difference between teh parties at all, and they only exist to strengthen the state rather than to serve teh people. The idea of voting is a nice carrot on a stick but really, does it matter who we vote for in the end? No matter their promises, the end result is the same and the lies continue to stack higher and higher with no recourse.

I guess what I'm trying to do now, and what I'm struggling with, is trying to reconcile what the Bible says about it from all directions. Sure, we are to endure for Christ and live in subjecation to the leaders above us, but at what point does our subjecation turn to acceptance of a system which does not follow God? Are we to volunteer our liberties with a lowered head without due cause to a system that has shown itself not to follow God or does consentual subjecation come into play only after we find ourselves in bondage?

In other words, are we supposed to seek out bondage and hardship to please God? Are we to accept it when it comes? Or are we to resist it to the best of our abilities while we still can?

Whichever the case, I'm not comfortable with the idea of supporting a system which directly conflicts with the word of God any longer. I'm no longer accepting of liars and thieves which only exist to prop up a system which allows for such activity for their own gratifications.

That's why I say I would rather them give me back my liberties and I'll choose to fend for myself and those I am responsible for wiothout their network of programs which serve no real purpose, and simply cannot deliver what it's designed to do in the first place. :noidea:
