My whole house shook this morning. It was kinda weird. I awoke about a few minutes piror to it happening. My wife was stirring and she asked me what time it was. I looked at the clock. I mentioned it was about 5:00 AM and then rolled over to catch a few more minutes of sleep when the whole house shook. Kinda like when a strong wind hits the house. We both said, "What was that?" My wife thought it was storming and I said nope. Maybe it was an animal on the roof or the old tree dropped a limb. I went outside and looked. Nothing but a Rooster up the street crowing. :thumbsup:

It felt like a large truck rolling by. I then prayed and thought, "that was an earthquake." Then I turned on the news and sure enough a 3.6 quake centered in Germantown, MD (not far from here). :blink:

We just don't get quakes around here. It was surreal.

Wow! I live in a very stable area of the world, earthquake wise, and have never experienced one.

Must have been a really wierd experience.

Have there been any aftershocks? Damage?

No damage but folks all around the region are reporting it. :thumbsup:

I'm interested to see how it affected D.C.

I really believe that we have been getting it here in the States lately, to include the gushing oil well, because we won't lay off of Israel and her covenant land. :thumbsup:

Dave we didn't feel it but it made the knick knacks rattle for about 4-8 seconds. I asked my wife "what was that a earthquake" because we have planes flying over our house all the time and they never shake anything.

:blink:

Bubba, it was strong enough to shake the whole house and wake my oldest daughter. It felt like one of those micro bursts storms that hit your home and send the walls vibrating. :blink:

Here's a news story;

That story say's Rockville but if you know the region, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Germantown are all very close and sometimes areas get called different areas because of the proximity.
