I have an item in my computer that is quarantined. It was originally put there because we didn't know what it was.

I just had a scan done that indicated it as a trojan.

OK, so now how do I delete it?

Hi,

Maybe call the company who made your 'puter. It might need to go to repair to get it deleted.

I guess a virus protection wouldn't be much use in your case if it was there when it was built.

What protection are you using? Most have preferences with their software in the process of removal.... I use McAfee and once identified they step by step its removal. Due to the nature of virus written code they very on removals. If generic protection then note the dated events and use restore point before this will place the program into sectors and tracks for rewriting by DOS.

Something to keep in mind when my Zone Alarm subscription runs out.

Microsoft has a good, free, anti-virus/spyware/malware protection program that integrates into windows. I don't use it because I have a subscription to McAfee, but I have installed it on some of my friends computers and it works well. you can find it here.

See if there is a tab on there for history; if so, try clearing the history.
