  1. My uncle and I went to see the movie "Noah" yesterday. What happened??? Transformer monsters, stow-aways, top decks, separate boats? The producers obviously had enough money to make a good movie, and they fumbled the ball. A little less Hollywood, and closer to scripture would have been nice. Did they think they could improve on the bible?
  2. Thank you. I had forgotten that only Adam and Eve were the onlyy 2 that lived in the Garden of Eden. For some reason, I was thinking when I read that God banished Cain, he banished him from Eden, but Adam and Eve were the only 2 banished from there.
  3. My uncle posed this question to me, and I had not ever wondered about it before, but now that I think about it,it is a mystery. Genesis 4:15-16 (New International Version) 15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the LORD's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. If the only people on earth were living in the Garden of Eden, were there people also living in the land of Nod, and if so, where did they come from?
  4. This is a problem I have to deal with on a daily basis, only a barking dog might not be as bad as the sounds I have to contend with. Working 3rd shift, I sleep in the afternoon, and Sunday is especially the hardest with my inconsiderate neighbors playing mariachi music out of their pickups so loud it shakes the house, running their weedeater for hours on end, then following that up with vacuuming out their pickups for hours (that should take 20 minutes or so max?) then sending their screaming children to play in my front yard right outside my bedroom window. After they get done with that, they race their motorcycles up and down the street, and I don't mean Suzukis, I mean Harleys. Really mean people. Sometimes I wake up after only 15 minutes of sleep, and am so groggy from lack of sleep, I'm afraid I might wreck my bicycle on the way to the train station going to work.
  5. Wow! Look at all that paper! Hello, America!
  6. Yahweh (YHWH) is God, and generally out of respect for Him, we don't utter those words, but we say either Adonai, or in the English translations, anywhere LORD is written in capital letters, LORD represents YHWH.
  7. Exodus 4:21 21 The LORD said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. Why did God do this? Several times, Moses asked the Pharaoh to let Israel go, but each time, God hardened Pharaoh's heart. To many, it would seem that this would be counter to His own plan. To try to understand why God did this, let's read Exodus 3:18-20: 18 “The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God.’ 19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. 20 So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go. You see, even though sometimes it seems like God's solutions are not what we want, ultimately God knows what is best. In this case, God knew that the Pharaoh would need a lot of convincing to realize Israel was truly being led by our one true powerful God. Isn't this true in our own lives, also? When we don't understand God's decisions for us, should we not realize He knows what is best, and not try to dissect or reject His solutions? Whenver we do, we always make matters worse. When God gives us an answer,we need to listen.
  8. I saw a movie last month about a woman who was having problems with her family and husband, and she wanted her husband to take her out to eat for thier anniversary, but he wanted to go oto a ball game instead. She gets a note on her desk at work inviting her to meet a secret guest at the very restaurant she was wanting to go to , and thinks it is her husband at first, and is then intrigued, and curiousity takes her to the restaurant. The man she dines with is Jesus, only she doesn't believe it, so she keeps testing him until she finally believes. Then she goes home and patches things up with her family. It seems like the name of the movie is someting like "The Visitor" or "The Guest" or "The Secret Guest" or something like that, but I can't find it to buy it. Anyone recognize this movie, and can tell me the name of it? Thank you.
  9. Someone has an answer to this, and I need to know. We all know that AD years count forward from 0 to now, and BC years count backward from the beginning of the calenderization of time to the year 0. So, how is that possible? Man did not know about God's plan for the birth of Jesus at the beginning of time, so there is no way they could have started at 0 year and counted backward to the year they were in and said "Ok it'll be X years until Jesus is born, so this is year X, and we will count down. Thats impossible. So how did they originally track time, and why is it never mentioned?
  10. Hear, Hear,Hark!,and See. Yes, Jeremy, Jesus loves us even when the world tries to make us forget Him, He will never forget us. http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=DWWZ7GNX
  11. We all make mistakes. None of us are perfect. Sometimes we wish for something so much, we talk about it as if it was really true, and then God has to step in and correct us. Keep your options open and meet new people. Welcome to Worthy!
  12. God,please contiue to protect Israel.
  13. Its in Florida, he built it or his wife, I heard about it on George Noory. The machine he used to moe the stones he dismantled I think is the story. They have a rocking chair there that weighs several tons, and you can actually rock in it
  14. Luke 17:3 If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
  15. It was probably due to His foreknowledge that God was able to make up His mind about Esau and Jacob.
  16. I wish we could get some of that water in Texas. We are experiencing a seriuos drought. Please pray for rain or Texas.
  17. I saw an NKJV study bible the other day that was done by John MacArthur, would that be a good one?
  18. Thank you,Isaiah. I agree with you; NIV is much easier to read than KJV. I talked to my pastor tonight, and he explained it almost the same way you did; we have more knowledge now than we had in the 1600's, for instance the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and he uses the NIV to preach from. I think we should not let what we see on the internet try and scare us into accepting that person's point of view, like I did a few days ago, but seek answers and pray, and discuss with fellow brothers and sisters what their take on a situation is. I will continue to pray that God lead me into His will, and for now at least stay with the NIV, because more than any other, I can hear God more clearly than from the KJV. Perhaps until we reach heaven, any translation we read will just be another mans interpretation, and without prayer, there is no way we can expect to know what God wants to tell us.
  19. But this was not an abortion, the baby was already born. In either case, its still murder.
  20. I know that that symbol was/is used by many different groups, not just the nazis.
  21. That is exactly what it sounds like to me,nerve damage. We're you recently injured in the face or do you have numbness in the face? Very similar to the drooling caused by numbing the nerves at the dentist. Praying its not permanent.
