Anyway, yeah, Joey Ramone supports Bush too.

Um, he probably doesn't support Bush much these days. He died 2-3 years ago.

Were you talking about a different Ramone or that Joey used to support him while alive?

Heh.

Sorry, was typing fast and not thinking.

Meant Johnny Ramone, who is a hardcore conservative.

Again, apologies to all you hardcore new-wavers out there. :D

Ok, that's better. That's who I thought you might have meant but didn't want to assume just yet.

Yep, both Joey and George have gone on to their "rewards". This thread is starting to make me sad. The Beatles and The Ramones were two of my favorite bands.(NOT FOR THE POLITICS< JUST THE MUSIC)

I did hear that Alice Cooper is saved,so that's pretty cool.....still to hear George sing "You Are The One" to the One True God would have been a beautiful thing!

Definitely...I'm totally excited to one day hang out with George!

I read an interview (I think it was in Rolling Stone?) with a guy who claimed to be close to John Lennon in his last 5 years of life. He said that John Lennon changed when Sean was born.

He said that John became a believer by praying with Pat Robertson while watching the 700 Club.

I can't prove it of course....but if you look at the subject matter and the lyrics of his last album you WILL see quite a different picture of Lennon than you get on any album previous.

Gone is the rebellion and rancor and cynicism and negative criticism and drug use.

It was replaced by songs of love like "Woman" & "Beautiful Boy"

"Watching the Wheels" is about how he had to drop out of the scene and decide what was true.

I can't wait to join in a choir of Elvis, John Lennon, and Al Green with King David on electric harp!

I'd have to say that story is apocryphal. John never converted (for those of you who believe that all non-Christians go to hell, it was probably wishful thinking). John's "mellowing" in his last years came from a newfound appreciation for family - he talked openly about his contentedness in the home. He remained ambiguous in his beliefs...not quite Hindu all the time is a better way to put it. But he was a good guy, a genius and a brilliant musician till the very end.
