I read through the useful parts to me of a book called Conquering Chronic Pain from Injury, but I'm not sure if I should wait to heal, or pursue another way to beat pain, such as neurofeedback/therapy for the brain. God doesn't want us in chronic pain, but I wonder what He wants us to do. Well, thanks for any insight.

I think that most people who heal other people are called doctors. So go to see one for your pain, seems to me to be OK with God, since He is the one that allows these people to become doctors in the first place. 1Co 12:7 Now to eachone the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 1Co 12:8 To one thereis given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message ofknowledge by means of the same Spirit, 1Co 12:9 to anotherfaith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 1Co 12:10 to anothermiraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing betweenspirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to stillanother the interpretation of tongues. My advice would be for you to go see a GOOD doctor. When I went, she had x-rays done to see if bone spurs were the problem, or if something more serious was afoot. I now know I have a stick straight neck that don't flex much, and strains my muscles causing the headaches. I agree with Old Shep that Doctors are the healers

I have seen some doctors over the past year or so; some that suggested I take drugs & said I was fine, others that wanted to string me along to see if it would work (chiro & accupuncture). The dentist said to wait for a tooth to turn grey. Then I could get a root canal. I researched a lot over the past year, and would like to possibly try Neurofeedback or Neuro Cranial Reconstruction. Maybe the Lord wants me to somehow find a Christian doctor that won't swindle me. Or He wants me to get insurance to find a pain specialist. Col. 3:3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid in Christ with God. Or wait. I'm trying new dentist on Thurs. Thanks for the prayers as well, Joe. I don't know if it will fit your problem, but see if you can research root canal alternatives.

Actually brother, those verses refer to when a group of belivers are gathered together.. however all believers have all the spiritual gifts in them because it's the same measure of the Holy Spirit in all. Here is what Jesus said before he left.. 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believesand is baptized will be saved , but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” When I got saved, the gift that showed itself the most was the the gift of discerning of spirits and occationally I could prophesy.. but now I see all the gifts active in me. I've prayed for 5 people to get healed and God healed them instantly.. so anyone can do it! I'm not special from anyone else..

I listened to an amazing story from a believer who has suffered far more than I, and his miracle healing from asthma at the age of 12. A root canal alternative is a laser shot to deaden the nerve. I think the place I'm going to on Thurs. can do it. In the meantime- prayers out to all chronic pain people. May they be given the peace of the Lord.
