  1. Not sure that this would mean the next step in total tolerance. Interdenominational acceptance of other believers in Jesus Christ may be an area that would cause some people to set aside the traditions of man for those that trust and believe in the Son of God. The Knights do some very good things up here in Maine, and it is shame that one can not become a member because they happen to be Baptist, or Protestant, because there can be no doubt that Jesus is loved by each denomination. Dennis
  2. Hmmm! Seems to me that their leader is playing a risky game of Russian Roulette with the lives of his people. Let us pray that some level headed people enter the game before a bunch of people pay for the wrong choices of the misguided. Lord Jesus please hear our prayers. Dennis
  3. I have. US Army---MI/ASA/NSA. I like your guide lines. My oldest son is in, he is a Forward observer.
  4. Hope they got the little girl her gum ball machine!
  5. Hmmmm< what do you feed a Biological computer, to keep those living organisms alive? Be it plant, or human that is used? Sounds like a vorloon space ship.
  6. Your welcome. I'm retired now, and for most part always worked, at times working as a field hand and also a Janitor for my local church during a slow down in the electrical construction trades. As a field hand I stayed in a bunk house area of a 1800 farm house, unheated, owned by Christians friends from Church. Paying rent and helping run the 80 acre farm, even after I found work in my field, Electrical, Industrial Engineering. The Church I go to help those that really need help, some what like yours does. My Grandfather was a man of means and worked as a farmer, an Captain and engineer of a tug boat, and held better then 500 areas of land in Northern Maine. As a child I think I was about 5, He told me a story about honest men and lazy men who would not care for even members of their own family. During this time, the phase "if a man does not work a man should not eat" came into my teaching. Logging was often done and the wood soled to support the family back in the early 1900's and the 1800's as well from the land once owed by my family. Self supporting is not a easy task and at times there are those that need help do to illness or injury, and that was an accepted fact in my family and we were often turned to, to provide help, through the Church. My Grandfather and Great-grandfather kept diaries for most part these diaries were the daily log of events that took place in and around the household and the town they lived in. Granddad was also an elected Selectman of the town for many years. Hard to read, these dated back to mid 1700. One of the things I noticed while reading these daily logs, was that my Grandmother and Great Grandmother worked just as hard to support that family as the men did. What do you think of these words form the Bible? In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. (2Th 3:6-12) Who provides support to the mother of a women who deserted her children and divorced her husband? Dennis
  7. I agree with the pastor teaching on 1 Timothy 5:3-16 Widows into the numbers as I understand it was the employment and maintenance from the church: of "true windows" . In days long gone there was an office in the church in which widows were employed, and given assignments from the deacons, to tend the sick and the aged. You can read about the early days in Christian church (Act_6:1). 1Ti 5:4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. { wonder if my son has read this}. Paul recommending of Phoebe, has nothing to do with being placed in the numbers, but to be accepted as sister in Chirst, she was infact a a servant of the church in Cenchrea, a seaport a few miles east of Corinth see( Act_18:18 ) and Paul was asking the Roman Christains to give her any help she may need. Kind of like a letter of introduction today commending the person for favorable regards and attentions. see ( 2Co_3:1; Act_18:27) Phebe seems to have been a person of some account; and yet it was no problem for her to be a servant to the church. That is my take on it. Hope it helps you, Dennis
  8. Sounds to me that your friend has a problem with self and has looked toward you as a guide and a mentor in life to be like. Your way of talking and looking at things now become her's. She has no real self ID and is looking outward to others to complete her self. Very, very sad, I would cry for her and pray for her, for I feel something very large is missing from her life, Jesus can help.
  9. Luk_9:60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God."
  10. As long as most believe peace is unreachable, it will be. Wouldn't it be great if most chose to live in peace, with everyone anyway.
  11. When Jesus walked the face of the earth, did He teach the Word in numbered Bible verses? To focus in on such a small part of an idea often causes the loss of what was meant during the whole of the conversion. The idea that comforts me most is this one: As for you(Dennis), you(Dennis) were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you(Dennis) used to live when you(Dennis) followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you (Dennis) have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you (Dennis, has) have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can (Dennis can not) boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:1-10) Sorry I just could not list just ONE verse...Hope you understand... 12. No sarcasm Mom, I just shared with you what the Lord Lead me to do.....in my country, some of those people caused a great amount of anger within me, later they became close friends.. May the Lord Bless you....good bye.
  13. Praying for Peace and for the burdens you carry to be lightened. Share your burden with Christ: Mat 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." No! you are not the only one. There are others that understand your lost for they to have suffered greatly and some are still carrying the burden of watching loved ones slowly died, powerless to make them well. I can not help you, I can cry with you, if near by I could sit with you and we could hug each other and cry together. It may seem like God is not there, but He really is there. God is with you and your son, and God is with the people that made the choice to give your son a place to stay for awhile. God Loves you and will never leave you alone, we may suffer losses in our lives but we are never really alone. ICL~~~Dennis....
  14. I Pray that a lot more men have a dream like this and come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
  15. Psa 82:1 A psalm of Asaph. God presides in the great assembly; he gives judgment among the "gods": Psa 82:2 "How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? Psa 82:3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Psa 82:4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psa 82:5 "The 'gods' know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. Psa 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.' Psa 82:7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler." Psa 82:8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance. I have a Theory, God made the Heavens and the Earth because He could and what ever happens, it will be to the Glory of GOD and not man. Man can not even rule over him self at this point time, maybe in a few hundred years or more we may wake up and smell the roses of Salvation and understand that it is not about us, it is about God. I think we will,... in time.... be able to wonder the vastness of space as we wonder the oceans of the world.
  16. Well, now....Maybe the Lord is calling you out to get involved in starting a neighborhood clean up crew. The parks I grew up in, while in Italy were filled with trash and bottles and other stuff and my mom spent a lot of time picking up the play ground where I played, and got other parent involved while we lived there. As an adult, I lived in a area that was also treated badly by people and got the city involved, placing trash cans where needed and people in advertisement involved with putting up posters about littering and the health problems that trash causes. In my home you could eat off the floor and everything had it's place and for most part, everything was put back where it belonged after I was done with it, and the 4 kids I had at the time. No need to have a break down, when you can get up and do something about it, while a the local News crew is watching you, spend the time cleaning up your street, so the rest of the world would want to come and visit. While your at it, it would be a great opportunity to share the Good News with all those that are drawn out, to help you clean up the mess...in the neighborhood and some of the souls at the same time. You do have the power to effect a change in the world you live in....IF you choose to use your gifts from God. Get to know those New people, find out why they toss the trash out, may be it was a normal thing to do where they came from, I do not think they are doing it just to give you a break down.... ICL~~~Dennis
  17. I didn't really think you were arguing, there is a lack of information in the written word at times. When we have a face to face conversation, there are clues that often answer unspoken checks about that is meant, with little body movements, or instant feedback, that is missing in the written word. As I type this it seem perfectly clear to me what I mean, but, is what I type really telling the reader what I really mean?
  18. Hmmm! This action seems to be a violation of the THE PRIVACY ACT OF 1974 5 U.S.C. § 552a Plus these nimrods that published this list have now shown the bad guy a list of the unarmed sheep, ready to be sheered of their fleece. IMO~~~Dennis
  19. It would be nice if these so called leaders would step up to the plate and hold classes in some remote area and show these terrorist how to do it. Opsssss.... It would save us from targeting them. Lord please forgive me, not very Christain of me to think of such things, for my enemy to blow himself up. Sorry.
  20. You mentioned the word homophobic. That would mean a fear of homosexuals, and I don't know anyone who is scared of them. Some of us just believe what scripture says about the lifestyle being sinful. There is also this matter of saying people scared of homosexuals are misinterpreting scripture, and that clearly is not true. They are deliberately changing scripture to make their lifestyle seem ok? I can't understand why? Obviously, that won't help them at the judgement, but I guess they are more concerned with acceptance today? Hmmm... I'm lost isn't that what I said...? I know what {they} say it means...but:>>>>>and then there is the rest of us sinners trying to do the same things for different sins....that pleases us...the flesh of man.
  21. Wow,.... So some Gay people some where didn't like what the Bible said in it, so they wrote their own book...Sounds like a lot of other religions out there, like the JW, Mormons, ect.ect. When is comes to informing people that what they are doing may be a sin, don't most disagree with the news? Homophobic, nice word...it was created as a weapon, to be used against the person speaking the Word of God. It was created to self justify, the person's choice to remain in a state of sin, a slave to sin, for they desire the things of the flesh, not the Words of God. As far as those reborn in Christ, they are set free from the bondage of sin, the old as gone and the New has come. I have many desires, which are sinful in nature, the one that bugs me the most is the desire to reach out and some people for making the choices they make in life. "My sins were the nails that held Christ to the Cross" 2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! ICL~~~Dennis
  22. So very true. I hope those who have lonely neightbors, especially the elderly will do something really special for them on Christmas, invite them to dinner, give them a couple of presents and let them spend the day with the family. Don't let someone you know spend Christmas alone. Your heart's in the right place, Shiloh, but from past experience I've found that most don't want a Christmas with acquaintances. They tend to just not tell anyone. There are some who want to wallow in self-pity, or they simply have turned into one of those anti-Christmas types. But there are some lonely people out there who would not turn down an invitation if given. I've been with out a help mate since 1987, however, the Lord blessed me with an adopted family, who I've come to Love as thou they were of my own blood. Since they are all Christian I guess one could say that we do share the same Blood, in Christ. But, yes at Christmas, parts of me miss and still hurts over the lose of the family I once had and the passing of my little girl, Destine. My other children are in different parts of the world and life goes on for them, some of it is very hard for them at times as well. If you know some one that is "alone" that invitation would mean a lot to them, it may help them not to turn into a Scrooge. Plus I'm sure the Lord Jesus would take notice of the new party as well. ICL~~~Dennis
  23. Hmmm, my service weapon was a 38 special, loaded with 158 gain Jacketed Hollow Point, it had no problem stopping a prep and knocking him down with a well placed shot center chest. Only ran into one problem with a man strung out on Angel dust... The proper use of a fire arm is more important then the size of the round your firing down range. Practice, practice and more practice is needed to be able to hit your target in an area to bring it down. The 38 is a good size for self defense and is much easier to use then it's bigger brother the 357...
