I wonder if stress had a part of his poor health, it would be understandable knowing what he has gone through.

At the risk of sounding like someone from Monty Python....he's not dead. Yet. He is very gravely ill, his family has been called in, and there has been *some* talk of shutting off the ventilator, but JoePa is still for the most part with us.

Apparently he already had the lung cancer before the scandal broke out.

But yes, stress wears down the immune system, and thus would likely have aided in the decline of his health.

Irregardless of what Paterno did or didn't do in the Sandusky scandal, my heart and prayers go out to him and his family during this time. I've been where they are more than once and I can only imagine how much harder it must be with half the world's media hovering like vultures. No one should have to endure that. Whatever happens, I pray God will give the family peace.

Well now that Joe has passed on, it is a sad day here in Pennsylvania, there will never be another coach like him.

What really gets my blood boiling is the media, along with the Penn State board of trustees the media hasten the death of Joe Paterno. Two months ago the media was spitting on Joe Paterno and now they are saying how great Joe was, those self righteous &%$*#!. Sure all the media is saying today is true, but do they mean it or is it all about money?

As for the board of Trustees, with the way those cowards handled the firing of Joe Paterno........ well I use to be a Penn State fan, use to go to their games, but now I won't support Penn State with one cent.

Whatever my personal thoughts about Joe Paterno, my heart breaks for his family as I know all too well how much it hurts to lose those we love. They have my prayers.
