Luke 20

27Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

28Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

29There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

30And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

31And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

32Last of all the woman died also.

33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

34And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

37Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

38For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

Note here how Jesus does not rebuke them for saying that the woman will be resurrected a woman...

He says: "they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:"

Jesus also says that the Angels are children of God, and also that Angels neither marry nor are given in marriage.

Does this mean that women will be resurrected in a man's body? or in a new female body? (or a sexless body?)

Genesis 6 tells us that the Angels of God are "sons" (masculine).

Genesis 6

1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

--- That the "בּן" ("Ben") of "אלהים" ("'elohiym") saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

--- The word "בּן" ("Ben") is masculine, and is translated "sons" in every reference of the "Ben 'elohiym" Genesis 6:2, Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7.

3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Some would say that the "sons of God" (referenced to in Genesis 6, and in Job) are not the Angels of God.

- However, Jesus says that the Angels of God are the "children of God" (Luke 20:36).

- Also,

Job 38

1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Was man created after God created the earth, or before?

Now,

With what body do the women come?

- We have already declared that Angels are not sexless;

- 1 Corinthians 15:22 states:

1 Corinthians 15

22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Christ is a man.

Women will be saved:

"...in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." (1 Timothy 2:15)

- Could it be that women are resurrected with a man's body? (seeing as "in Christ shall all be made alive." ?)

- However:

Galatians 3

26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 11:11

"...the man is not without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord."

- 1 Corinthians 15 states that "that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain"

- John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible writes:

1 Corinthians 15:37

And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be,.... The sower, for instance, does not take a stalk of wheat in its blade, and ear, and full corn in the ear, encompassed with the husk, and sow it in the earth, which is the body or form in which it appears when it rises up again, and is come to its full growth:

but bare grain (or naked grain) it may chance of wheat, or some other grain; wheat, or any other grain, is cast into the earth naked, beat out of the husk; and that selfsame grain rises up again, clothed with additional verdure, beauty, and fruitfulness; and so the body which comes out of its mother's womb naked, and returns naked again, Job_1:21 ["Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither"] to which the apostle seems to allude, will rise again the same body, though with additional glories and excellencies; so that if it should be asked, how is it possible that a dead body can be raised up again? the possibility of it may be seen, in the quickening and raising up of a grain of wheat, that first rots and dies; and if it be inquired with what body the dead will be raised, it may in some measure be observed in this instance, that though it will be the same body, yet with different and excelling qualities:

- 1 Corinthians 15:38 - "...God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body." -- The word used here for "his" is it referring to God?--God giveth it a body as it hath please him, and to every seed [God's] own body...? The word "body" (Greek: "Soma") is a neuter adjective - and is used to refer to a woman's body in Acts 9:40.)

1 Corinthians 15:39-41 - "All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory."

- Are there female angels?

- Jeremiah 7:18 indicates: "the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven"

- Malachi 2:11 indicates that a god can have a daughter (the "Ben 'elohiym" are the "sons of God", a "Bath 'el" is a daughter of a god) - therefore, Can God have daughters?

Galatians 3

26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

- 1 Kings 11:5 indicates a female angel (goddess) -- "Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians"

- "Ashtoreth"

- Hebrew: "עשׁתּרת"

- BDB definition:

Transliterated: "`Ashtoreth"

Ashtoreth = star

1. the principal female deity of the Phoenicians worshipped in war and fertility

a. also 'Ishtar' of Assyria and 'Astarte' by the Greeks and Romans

It is a "proper name feminine"

- Strong's definition:

Ashtoreth the Phoenician Goddess of love (and increase): - Ashtoreth.

- "goddess"

- Hebrew: "אלהים"

- BDB definition:

Transliterated: "'elohiym"

1. (plural)

a. rulers, judges

b. divine ones

c. angels

d. gods

2. (plural intensive - singular meaning)

a. god, Goddess

b. godlike one

c. works or special possessions of God

d. the (true) God

e. God

- Acts 19:27 indicates "...the great goddess Diana..."

- A female angel (goddess).

- "Diana"

- Greek: "Ἄρτεμις"

- Thayer Definition:

Transliterated: "Artemis"

Diana = complete light: flow restrained

Origin: probably from the same as "Artemon" - a top-sail or foresail of a ship.

"Artemis" is a feminine noun.

- Strong's definition:

Artemis the name of a Grecian Goddess borrowed by the Asiatics for one of their deities: - Diana.

- "goddess"

- Greek: "θεά"

- Thayer definition:

Transliterated: "thea"

a Goddess

"thea" is a feminine noun.

___________________________________________________________________

- Seeing as "[they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world] are equal unto the angels..." (Luke 20:36)

- If there are female angels (Ashtoreth, Diana), could women be resurrected in a distinct female spiritual body?

Could it be that:

"...it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2)

- So it doesn't yet appear what we shall be...

- And we do know that...

"they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage" (Luke 20:36)

Galatians 3:26-28

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Genesis 6 tells us that the Angels of God are "sons" (masculine).

1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

These 'sons of God' were not angels, they were hebrews who were supposed to be following the Lord and instead hooked up with foreign women.

- Could it be that women are resurrected with a man's body? (seeing as "in Christ shall all be made alive." ?)

Nope, the fact that 'in Christ' all shall be alive doesn't mean we are all going to be carbon copies of Jesus in Heaven.

There are female angels and goddesses in false religions and mythology. That doesn't tell us anything about angels of the God of the bible.

Origin: probably from the same as "Artemon" - a top-sail or foresail of a ship.

"Artemis" is a feminine noun.

- Strong's definition:

Artemis the name of a Grecian Goddess borrowed by the Asiatics for one of their deities: - Diana.

- "goddess"

- Greek: "θεά"

- Thayer definition:

Transliterated: "thea"

a Goddess

"thea" is a feminine noun.

There are female angels and goddesses in false religions and mythology. That doesn't tell us anything about angels of the God of the bible.

Would you say that, according to Ezekiel 28:12-19,

Satan was "perfect in [his] ways from the day that [he] wast created, till iniquity was found in [him]." ?

- Could it be that women are resurrected with a man's body? (seeing as "in Christ shall all be made alive." ?)

Nope, the fact that 'in Christ' all shall be alive doesn't mean we are all going to be carbon copies of Jesus in Heaven.

What does 1 Corinthians 15:48-50 say?

Philippians 3:21?

How do those verses indicate we will rise as carbon copies of Christ?

1 Corinthians 15:48-50

New International Version (NIV)

48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we[a] bear the image of the heavenly man. 50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

Philippians 3:21

New International Version (NIV)

21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

What do you think of the Gospel of Thomas? noidea.gif

<snip>

- Acts 19:27 indicates "...the great goddess Diana..."

- A female angel (goddess).

I fail to see how you are acquainting pagan deities with God's angels.
