I have been reading through the Psalms and today's verse left me with some questions..

Psalms 16:11

You have made known to me the path of life, You will fill me with joy in Your presence with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

I am trying to figure out what type of eternal pleasures are being talked about here..

I know that there was a purpose for Song of Solomon to be written. Was is strictly for us while we are on earth or is there going to be some in Heaven just not ugly like we have it here on earth..

I then think of eternal pleasures as being part of the fruits of the spirit..Joy, Happiness, peace, patience..etc..

Which is it or both?

Any help would be appreciated..

I also believe that eternal pleasures are being in the presence of God. In 1 Cor. 13 we find that only love will not pass away. God is love, light, truth, life, and every possible good and righteous blessing. When we read the first chapter of Ephesians, we find a load of the blessings we have in Christ. But the key phrase is IN HIM. All those blessing as found inside Christ Himself, and when we ourselves are found in Him, we simply have them because we have Him.
