It was approved on the same day Gov. Jerry Brown signed into a law Assembly Bill 1266, which forces schools to allow children to use the bathroom correlating to their own gender identity.View the full article

Guest Butero
Eventually, this will happen to churches, which is why we should consider giving up the tax exemption pro-actively? They can't threaten to take away something we don't have.

Not singling you out butero, but as an example, how large is your church? What do you think will happen to your congregation if it loses tax exempt status? How will it pay for any debt on its building or even basic maintenance and property tax on it? How will it pay for the taxes on tithes? Not only will it still have its regular expenses, it will suddenly have a large amount of taxes to pay for. How many churchs do you think can do this? Someone suggested going to home churches or cell churches. How many solid leaders are there in churchs so that one such leader can leader roughly 20 folks in a home church? This will greatly harm the churches in the us.

Some years ago, and now, in the area where I live, churches are opting out of the tax sheltered 501c3 lie and are flourishing and being blessed by God tremendously when it comes to saving souls. Some churches refused to be dictated to by the government and lost everything, including their building, because they refused to surrender to the government on what they could preach from the pulpit, such as homosexuality being a sin, abortion is murder, and endorsing candidates running for office. etc.. Those churches who lost their buildings are now operating out of rented space in motels, vacant stores and so forth. Their pastors have jobs to support their families, and the offerings are given 100% to the poor and needy in the community, widows, homeless centers and so forth. In another thread The Lord is building His true church today, a remnant who refuse to be bought out by the government and one that is not owned by the government. Those churches who have bought into the 501c3 tax shelter have sold themselves out to the government sponsored church and have accepted the government's "hush money" and have bought into a lie, and are not free to preach the Gospel of Christ and call sin sin. Jesus said you cannot serve two masters. And to count the cost of following Him. Render unto Caeser what belongs to Caeser, ( pay your taxes and the government has no hold on you) and give to God what belongs to God. Which is everything!
