It's such a good storyline it makes one wonder if it might have actually happened... This is what made his books, especially the early ones, so good. as you are reading them you have no problem believing they could really happen. I forget which, but it was the first where war was actually engaged. The inaccuracy? None of the equipment broke down, the guns never jammed, the missiles always fired, .... You may not know this but the hunt for red October and clear and present danger were all from the same book series following jack Ryan (portrayed by Alec Baldwin in red October, ford in patriot games and clear and present danger and Ben affleck in the sum of all fears) I didn't realize that!
