Did any of you guys see the national news stories where my home messianic synagogue was "vandalized". I was there last night and saw the graffiti of such wonderful things as;

heil hitler

"blank" you for killing Jesus

and a few more choice things that would make a sailor blush. There were bullet holes in all the windows on the street side.

Anyone see that on the news?

It was on all the major networks last night and/or the night before.

The funny thing is that we had a guy who actually showed up in the courtyard one day and opened fire and the media didn't even mention it! Praise God that no one was hurt. We can't explain it by natural means.

.....but the major media didn't even mention that one....and now this?

911 has changed some things..

Palestinians Deserve Better

By: Gary Fitleberg

Are the Palestinians better off under Israeli Jurisdiction or the Palestinian Authority Jurisdiction? Palestinians deserve economic prosperity, employment opportunities, educational development, a higher standard of living, freedom of the press, and political and civil freedoms.

In 1947, when Arabs rejected the UN proposal to form an Arab state alongside a Jewish state and went to war instead, they created the Palestinian problem. Thousands of Palestinians were killed. Though some Palestinians have permanently resettled, many remain displaced and impoverished, and are denied citizenship and civil rights throughout the Arab world. But it is the Arab nations and Yasser Arafat who committed these injustices not Israel.

The Palestinians are the only people who have not resettled their refugees. They voluntarily maintain refugee camps with poor living conditions, using their poor living conditions as a prerequisite to promote hatred and terrorism towards Israel and Jews. The Palestinian people have been used as political pawns in a propaganda war by the Arabs and Palestinian leadership. They have cultivated a culture which places no value on human life.

Let us now compare the Palestinian's economy, standards of living and rights in the territories under Israeli jurisdiction or the Palestinian Authority jurisdiction. Consider the accounting balance sheet.

Under Israeli Jurisdiction, 1967-93

Economic prosperity.

Israeli investment in Palestinian business, industry, and infrastructure helped the PA GNP grow 13% annually between 1967 and 1980; per capita income grew tenfold; unemployment dropped from 40% to below 5%.

Employment opportunities.

Except during terrorist upsurges, Israel employs about 120,000 Palestinians from the disputed territories. Their earnings accounted for 43% of the West Bank's overall income.

Educational development.

Israel built 6 universities and 20 community colleges for the Palestinians. Illiteracy dropped from 50% to 30% between 1967 and 1980.

Standards of living soared. Health gains: Israel built 166 clinics, provided universal life insurance and medical programs for Palestinians. The morality rate plummeted by two thirds (1970-1990 Israel built hospitals and schools. Israel also expanded water, sewage, and electric systems.

Freedom of the Press.

This basic right was extended even for press with anti-Israel opinions. Other civil and political freedoms. Freedom of association, trade unions, civic organizations and opposition parties permitted. Voting rights extended to poorer classes and to women for local elections for the first time in the Palestinian Arabs' history.

Under Palestinian Jurisdiction, 1993-2000

Economic stagnation.

From 1992 to 1996, per capita income dropped 35% in Gaza. Unemployment increased to over 20% in Gaza and the West Bank. Employment roadblocks. Arabs intentionally exclude Palestinians during job recruitment efforts, importing Asians and other Arab nationals instead. Kuwait has denied citizenship to and expelled all 300,000 of its Palestinian residents after the Gulf War.

Inadequate education.

Schools are closed during uprisings to bus students to the demonstrations. Elementary, high school and university students are trained in the latest tactics of terror based upon wrongful hatred of Israelis and Jews. This improper education is also promoted in camps and religious institutions.

Corruption and mismanagement. In 1997, 40% of the PA budget "disappeared" and was reported "missing" although its leadership has profited personally from the humanitarian aid money.

Control of the media.

The Palestinian Authority has complete control over the media. No democracy has control over the media. A few PA activities include arrests of journalists, closure of media outlets, and using the media to promote hatred and terrorism; especially homicide bombing attacks. A climate of fear and self-censorship exists.

Authoritarian government.

Here are a few examples. Restrictions on association. Intimidation and even "targeted" assassination of opposition leaders. Arbitrary arrests and detentions. Torture and unfair trials, especially in the new State Security Courts, which according to Amnesty International "flagrantly" violate "fair trial standards" according to accepted jurisprudence standards.

That is not all. Let's consider another important economic reality.

Between 1994-2000, the EU contributed $1.5 billion; the US pledged $500 million. Israel allocated $90 million between 1993-1999. Israel also facilitated investments in the Palestinian private sector and granted 2, 522 fellowships to Palestinians for professional training between 1995-1999.

These statistics are even more remarkable in lieu of recent public allegations of corruption by Yasser Arafat and leaders of the Palestinian Authority. Israel's Chief of Military Intelligence, General Aharon Ze'evi (Farkash) reported to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Arafat is worth an estimated $1.3 billion (almost the entire amount of the contribution by the EU).

The accusation also came from one of his own, Jaweed al Ghussein, former treasurer of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), who told Ha'aretz the leadership is corrupt and the Palestinians deserve a democracy. He was quoted as saying, I found out how he took aid money earmarked for the Palestinian people to his own account."

The former treasurer alleged Arafat moved up to $8 million to his personal account every month and was aware of widespread corruption. Al Ghussein's allegations come amid strong international pressure on Arafat and the Palestinian Authority to reform a leadership that has been accused of rampant corruption since it was established in 1994.

Al Ghussein has paid a very high price for his honesty. He has been kidnapped several times by the PA, put under "house arrest" in order to silence him from exposing and telling the truth. Adding insult to injury, the PA also confiscated his Palestinian passport in order to prevent him from seeking badly needed medical treatment abroad. It was only through the intervention of a humanitarian rights organization which allowed his eventual exit to England.

In a Congressional Research Report, presented to Congress as early as April 17, 2001, it was estimated Arafat's personal wealth increased to the tune of $75 million annual.

In 2001, Arab governments withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in aid but pledged $200 million for the "families of the 'victims' of the intifada" and another $800 million to protect Al-Quds (Arabic name for Jerusalem). This money could have easily been spent for adequate food, healthcare, and shelter for the Palestinian people to improve their plight. Instead, the diverted funds went for weapons of mass destruction and to the personal prosperity of Yasser Arafat and the leadership of the Palestinian Authority. One thing is absolutely certain and clear. Something is not adding up.

Let's get the factual record straight...

Israel does not want to govern the Palestinians. It has tried repeatedly to negotiate a realistic solution that recognizes the Palestinian's right to self-determination. In the interim, Israel has tried to help them.

The Palestinians deserve better. The Palestinians deserve economic prosperity, employment opportunities, educational development, a higher standard of living, freedom of the press, and political and civil freedoms.

Are the Palestinians better off under the jurisdiction of the Israelis or the Palestinian Authority? You be the Judge!!!

You know, I can admit that sometimes Israelis do go over the top sometimes in their treatment of the Arabs living amongst them. I do advocate mistreating anyone, and any Israeli Jew who is caught intentionally harming an innocent Arab should be punished.

Having said that, I also believe that the Arab community that supports terror attacks against Jews, that aids and abeds the terrorists, pretty much waives its right to declare "discrimination" when Israel (a Jewish nation) enacts programs and projects that serve the best interests of Jews. The Arabs cannot dedicate their lives to killing Jews, and then cry "discrimination" when Jews try to keep them from buying land next to their home, or do not want them working in the same store they work in. If the Jews were not surrounded by 500 million maniacal enemies breathing threats of annihilation, perhaps the Arabs would have a case. Any Israeli Jewish disdain for Arabs does not occur in a vacuum. After 5 wars meant to annihilate Israel, and 56 years of terrorism, the Arabs are really without a leg to stand on when they cry and whine that they are being discriminated against. It really is laughable.

This is sort of a different topic,

How often did they try to open the eastern gate?

I read here that the Turkish people tried to open the gate but just before they could do that Jerusalem changed hands.

From a plane the British dropped a note to "surrender the city and it was signed General Allenby to the Turks that is close to Allah bey and that means 'Son of God" in their languages and they surrendered. They thought the note was signed by the Son of God.

So that very same day they where going to open the gate Jerusalem changed hands, neat story isn't it??

Also in 1967 Hussein brought together a force of hammers and heavy aquipment to hollow out the Eastern gate , but on that same day the Six day war broke out and the city of Jerusalem changed hands.

Hussein was going to build a hotel using the wailing wall on one side and the side of the Eastern gate to allow trafic to go to the temple.

God will hold His promise to protect the Eastern gate :)

I just love those stories, they show Gods power big time!!
